history: Max Boroughs was born in Cardiff, England as Max Devlyn Boroughs to a respectable tribe that could have owned half of Buckinghamshire if they had wanted to. Max's father, Simon Boroughs, a wealthy and honed banker of some marvelous strip of money was destined to become a lord one day in the near future. Max, his fesity amber-hued child, was perhaps his greatest treasure. Spoiled with the riches of his father's purse, Max never bothered at the question of where the riches came from. Well to be frank it was his great-grandmother who had done most of the work. Having been a duchess, she had wedded a lord who's prized interest was in breeding, mixing the blood of race horses to be more precise. The occupation payed quite well, as the process of selling these fine steeds came with a hefty price tag, one that the current queen was willing to pay, therefore granting riches to the entire Boroughs family for years to come.
Simon Borough gave everything to his son, his riches, wonderful education, and a lushous mansion that housed the two of them. Max never knew his mother, as nor did he know what happened to her. Simon would not indulge on the topic any more than just an occasional gesture of his hand when Max brought up the topic, seemingly frustrating Max even more. The housekeeper that had served them for some time often gave little tidbits of information about his mother to Max when he would ask nicely. Supposedly she had been french, straight from the royal city of Paris, and a lady at that. She had met Simon at an elegant ball, when Simon had visited Paris for some work-related interest and the two created dazzling fireworks from the start. Simon eventually dragged the french lady back to his estate in Cardiff, where they spent an engaging two weeks, their time mainly composed of intimacy in the vicinity of the bedroom. And, well the rest is history, but the lady left soon afterwards, then returned to give birth to her infant son. Shortly after, she dissapered, apparently she had gone home, unable to deal with the choice of a son, but rather leaving Simon to raise his heir.
Max had a real genuine aptitude for academic work and was soon begging his father iasking if he could attend the lavishing halls of Oxford, where his passion to study as a doctor started. His first year was quite enthralling, as it captivated Max in such as way that he felt like he could never part from the dreaming spires and ivied halls. His enthrallment soon grew, to the point in which apparently he did not wish to return to his father's estate. Max had a built-in drive to achieve and suceed, something not a lot of students had. Those who had come from America simply wished to lavish in their few years abroad, their time wasted at clubs and exspensive bars that catered to the good folk such as them.
Back at home, Simon suffered terrible blows to the fortune and looked at the future with grim. That was.....untill he met Sophie Bradshaw, a talented woman who's passion was fueled by her ability to act and a brilliant actor she was. Claiming her ranks among british stars she was certainly not the type for a future wealthy british lord. Perhaps their differences was what brought them desperately close, but soon the gossip that they were engaged reached Max's ears as he had chosen to remain at Oxford where his studies were. Along with Sophie came brilliant shares of money that she had bristled with the past years. If Simon married for money, out of spite to save his legacy, he certainly did not share that tadbit with anybody, but before long Max returned to meet the new lady of the house.
The meeting went quite wrong from the start. Max had grown terribly fond of the connection between his father and him, and his reaction to the married couple gave Simon quite the stern face. As he was seventeen, and completely dedicated to what he was studying, medicine, perhas he should have decided to completely disenvow himself from the Borough's name, yet his heart couldn't quite make that cut, the one that would eliminate him from the Borough's name forever, with no going back.
Max strayed against the idea, as he truely loved and cherished his father as an individual, not just because he payed for his son's education. What Max had been most troubled over was the fact that Sophie could change everything, possible the position he held in an english man's scholar world. For him, work was everything and serving those who were less fortunate made a close run for second. He wanted to help people, not just help them because his heart constricted at the very sight that injured were in, but because he truely felt for them and thought passionately that humans such as those gifted souls deserved better than what ordinary hospitals gave. His opinion of ideas such as these were what shaped Max into such the man that he is today.
The frightful night of his eighteenth birthday was when the Borough's were gifted with a miracle. Apparently Sophie had given birth to a healthy welping son, just on that eve. Max was usnure of what to view the event as. A cheerful one perhaps, yet the thought that he was no longer an only child stirred something inside of him, something that closely resembled jealously. Emensing himself completely in his studies once again in order to get the flitting topic of his blasted mind, he calmed down to his usual well-mannered self. To say that he could be angered would be an appropiate phrase for he had selmdonly shown in throughout the years, except for the few incidents involving Sopie and his new infant step-brother.
Times violently changed and his family soon fell into a step knot, their riches laced with greedy posion from being sought out by so many other men. Simon barely had enough time to study with the increasing hours his father set upon him to ravage through papers and buisness pertaining to his father's investment. Max soon grew tired of this cat and mouse game, his entire being folding in upon itself and the need for change quickly arouse. Hearing little of America from across the seas in Great Britian, secluded from the gathering forces of the despaired world, Max came to the conclusion that a time for change was in order. Having recently graduated from Oxford with a full fledge degree pertaining to medical studies and surgical procedures, Max discussed it with his father. His father did not like the idea at all, for rumors had reached his ears of some uprisings and controversial issues that were plaguing America.
Despite his father's harsh "no" to his idea, Max left anyway, not about to let the little grasp he held of humanity waver for one second. What his interpretations of America turned out to be were quite the opposite af what Max had in mind. The first few years were a pleasure, with few problems, and generally good-pay, not to mention the respected patients at the hospital he was employed at. His work was regarded as top-notch and his procedures revered across the country for their fantastic ability to actually work, something few doctors could perform these days. What Max couldn't forsee coming was the depression and the Salvators, including their greedy rise to power.
