Welcome to __reachOUT, a fall back production. Please register with a first and last name with proper capitalization. A middle name would be preffered, but is not mandatory. There are canons open, but we are also accepting originals.

In __reachOUT, the Salvators have taken over the government of the United States. Spreading feelings of fear and oppression throughout the country, they are limiting everything from food to the internet. In a world where society is strictly divided in two, and where everything is traced, how will you survive?

angelina marie halsey . }

in the spotlight }

full name: Angelina Marie Halsey
nickname(s): Lina, Agent Halsey. Never call her Angelina.
age: 29
date of birth: December 5th
orientation: heterosexual
affiliation: government

faded photographs }

looks like: Yvonne Strahovski
hair:
    Lina's hair is a natural blonde. It isn't like most blonde people's hair, with a lot of brown in it. It is a pure blonde, kind of startling actually. The first thing a lot of people say to her is, "Do you dye your hair?" The answer is no. She has no time whatsoever for primping in front of the mirror. Because of her somewhat lazy personality, Lina usually just leaves her hair down, not wanting to search her messy apartment for a hair band. When she is in the field and can't use any distraction though, she puts her hair up in a sloppy ponytail.

eyes:
    With piercing blue eyes that take in every single minute detail of her surroundings, how could Lina not be a successful tracker? Her eyes are the color of clear Pacific ocean waters, but are definitely not as warm. They are coldly ruthless, and hide the "human side" of Lina. There's no denying the obvious intelligence shown though, and as far back as she can remember, her eyes have never been filled with tears.
body type:
    Lina's strong, muscular body reflects the intense training she went through to become one of the best trackers in the newly reformed NSB. Strangely enough, she is not bulky at all, her slender frame can fit in the tightest of spots. Walking an average of five miles a day keeps her body slim and toned.
clothing:
    Generally, Lina wears black to blend in with the general population. She believes that you can't go wrong with wearing black, and it also gives off a feeling of foreboding and mystery. Sunglasses cover her eyes, mainly to hide her startling eyes from everyone else, therefore creating a greater aura of mystery and a smaller chance of being discovered, and also to shade her eyes from the sun. While jeans are not the most practical leg wear when you walk all over the city, Lina prefers them over any other kind of pants. She never wears anything overly formal, and is the very image of casual dress. Whenever it is cold, she puts on a leather jacket. Wearing heels all day is hard on her feet, but she likes them better than sneakers, because sneakers make her look like everyone else, and while she wants to blend in, she draws the line at footwear. She intensely dislikes sneakers for some strange reason, and will never let herself wear them, even if she is put on a most trying mission.
distinguishing features:
    When you lead a life as active and dangerous as Lina's, you are bound to have scars on your body. Lina, however, being one of the better trackers of the NSB, stays out spots where she is most likely to get hurt. One of the only scars she has is right behind her left ear, where a guy clipped her when she wasn't paying attention.

general personality:
    COLD. Lina is seriously one of the coldest people ever to grace the earth. With a thick exterior shell to hide her feelings, she doesn't let anyone get close to her. This is a little bit because of her traumatic past, but mostly because after years of being the top tracker in the NSB, the word friendship has no meaning to her. The names and addresses the boss gives her mean nothing to her. They are just another obstacle she needs to get over to climb the ranks of the NSB, and to win the admiration and fear of those around her. The fact that the names she's given are real live breathing people with hopes, families and ambitions does not bother her in the slightest. No emotion is shown when she is doing her work. She is a total ice queen.

    RUTHLESS. Because she is a tracker, Lina is not the one doing the actual killing. She is just getting down important information for the assassins. It is possible, however, for her to be a killing machine while her job does not call for spilt blood at all. One thing she absolutely hates is when someone does not open up to her sharp interrogation. She cannot say that she would use words over violence and still have her lie meter at zero, but she doesn't like wasting extra effort torturing her victims to make them give up information. The piercing screams of her victims would make any other human with less experience cringe, but Lina's face remains unmoving and cold as she continues to squeeze the information out of the person.

    METHODICAL. Lina very rarely makes a move without planning out all the steps first. This way, she makes fewer mistakes, but also it takes her awhile to see the obvious because of her careful planning. Her almost 100% success rate is the envy of her co-trackers at the NSB. She refuses to help them out though, because although she is viewed as the head of the tracking department, she would rather keep her strategies to herself. One of her secrets is to always be prepared. She always carries an extra weapon hidden somewhere on her body, always has an extra escape route, and always has an extra phone number to call if she is in a tight spot. Some people scoff at her seemingly over prepared thing she has going on, but she turns a deaf ear on them. Better over prepared than not prepared at all is her motto. Lina follows steps very precisely. If life were a bread recipe, she never leaves out a teaspoon of flour and never lets the bread rise an extra second. She knows all the things that could possibly happen in a situation, and figures out solutions to those problems. This makes her an aggravatingly slow and careful person to work with, but when you are out and in a tight spot, Lina's the one to call.

    COMPETITIVE. Part of Lina's nature is that she always had to come out on top. In high school and college, getting straight A's wasn't enough. She put in the extra effort to graduate as Number One in her class. The same thing happened as she quickly climbed the ranks of the NSB. Always performing the best got her to where she is today. She absolutely hates losing, but doesn't waste time polishing up her act and fighting harder to get back in first place.

    LAZY. Being the best has done incredible things to Lina's work ethic and ego. She figures she doesn't really need to be any better than she is right now, since she is already at the top. This causes her to be a little sloppy sometimes. After one or two big mistakes that nearly cause her death though, she'll pull her act together, and start performing like a machine. Usually, her movements are precise, using only the amount of energy needed to completely fulfill the task. She has gotten better at working hard when she needs to though, and is only lazy on her days off, or when she isn't feeling well. On her days off, she doesn't do much, just sits around in cafés and scoffs silently at the people passing by.

one word: intimidating

favorite memory:
    "Being the kind of cold person I am, most would expect my favorite memory to be something gory. Being the kind of eye catching and sexy person I am, the rest of the people would think my favorite memory would be something disgustingly romantic and inappropriate. While I have had my share of gory, disgustingly romantic and inappropriate memories, my favorite one is of my mother. Yes, I know it seems so . . . strange that someone like me would treasure her mother in her memories like that. But my mother was everything I wanted (and didn't want) to be.

    "My mother is dead now, I will say that to you frankly. Her image is a little faded in my mind, but her spirit still strong. One of the clearest memories in my mind is of a day when I was five. Even as a child I was intensely competitive, and a little violent as well. There was this kid, I remember him as being very big, but when you're five, everyone is very big. He stole my ice cream cone, and I was steaming mad. Steaming actually isn't the right word. I was beyond steaming. If my body could have combusted, it would have. See, ice cream was very important to me. It was a rare treat for my mother to take me out and buy me an ice cream cone, because my family was not very well off, and we could not afford to waste money on trivial things like that.

    "Anyways, to avenge the loss of my ice cream cone, I had picked up a branch that was just about as tall as I was. Running back (or tripping, because the branch was so large) I took the branch, and hit the boy over and over, until his face was covered in blood and he was screaming in pain. His mother grabbed the stick away from me and started screaming. My mother defended me stoutly, and pulled me away. She bought me a new ice cream cone, even though she knew my father would me livid when he found out.

    "That isn't much of a favorite memory, but I hold it dearly to me because it is the clearest image of my mother I have today. It also shows her goodness, and her ability to ignore my bad side. That memory shows how much of a good person my mother was, but how much she is like me, in the way that she doesn't care what happens to others as a consequence of her actions. A lot of people say I am a cautionary tale of my mother, but I do not believe them at all. My mother is, or was, everything I wanted to be as a little girl."
worst memory:
    "Considering the absolute drama my family life was as a kid, this one isn't hard to think up at all. I have a lot of bad memories, but the day my mother died was the absolute worst. I don't feel like going into detail, because it just hurts so much.

    "I believe I have already established in the former paragraph that my mother was my role model when I was a child. Naturally, her death hit me hard. What hit me harder was the suddenness of her death. I had never expected her to leave me like that. She seemed so . . . untouchable. What was worse though, was that she had taken her own life.

    "Over the years, I noticed her slowly retreating into herself. She avoided my father at first, and then gradually, started avoiding me and my sister. The air around her seemed different, she had changed. I never though, however, that this was the beginnings of a severe depression.

    "I was only six, for Christ's sakes. What did I know about depression and suicide? I didn't know anything about this. I just got home from school. My dad wasn't home, but that wasn't a surprise. Usually though, my mother would be at the door before I had the change to knock, and would hand me a plate of food or something of the like. She would take my small backpack off my back, and hug me, ask me how my day was, and kiss my cheek. This day, however, the house was silent. And scary actually, now that I think back on it. This was strange of my mother to not have welcomed me back from school. I ran up the stairs and burst through the door of my parent's bedroom.

    "Nothing could have prepared me for such a sight. I found my mother, the woman who raised me, loved me, who would kiss my cheek after school, I found her lying on the ground with a needle stuck in her arm. There was an empty bottle of morphine lying next to her. Evidently she had stole it from the hospital.

    "I remember screaming so loudly that the neighbors ran over, and calling the ambulance, but it was too late. My mother was dead. To this day, I have never forgotten that terrible memory, and hate my father for doing that to her.

    "God, I sound like a psychopath saying that, but it's true."

father: Eric Halsey, 63, garbage truck driver. Lina absolutely HATES her father, for what he did to his mother.
mother: Eleanor Halsey, 34 (deceased), nurse. Contrary to her feelings on her father, Lina loves her mother.
siblings: Cara Halsey, 34, part time accountant and stay at home mom. Lina has severed any ties to her family because of her dangerous job as a tracker, but she remembers Cara as being a typical older sister: bossy, kind and caring.
other family: N/A (Her mother and father never mentioned any other relatives)
history:
    Lina, born Angelina Marie Halsey, always thought that God had given her the wrong father. With his lazy work ethic and quick temper, he was the reason why her family was so poor and falling apart. The father she felt that she should have had was someone who was tall and strong, someone who would tell her bedtime stories and fight off invisible monsters of the dark. Her father was anything but that. When he met her mother, he had been a recovering drunk, and his head clearly had not been on right that night when he proposed to her. But, to him, marriage was marriage, and he never got a divorce. Cara and Lina were the result of this drunken accident, and she really could not have had a worse start off for her life.

    As a little girl, Lina's father was not around as much as she would have liked. Her mother was a nurse and worked night shifts often, and it took awhile for her older sister Cara to warm to her. Subsequently, the first few years of her life were dark and loveless, definitely not the way a toddler should have been brought up. However, these years alone and without parents to support her made Lina staunchly independent and free-spirited, even as a mere three year old. Her mother finally came to her senses around this time, and worked out a plan with a fellow nurse so that she would be able to spend more time at home. At first, Lina distrusted her mother, because she barely knew this woman, but slowly, a bond of understanding and trust formed between the two. During this time was also when Cara became a typical older sister to her, applying equal measures of bullying and sisterly love to get her to trust again. It took awhile, but soon, Cara and her mother became two of Lina's best friends.

    Then there was that fateful day when Lina was six. That was the day her mother died, and Lina had walked in on her, needle stuck in her arm, lips blue and body stiff. That was one of her worst memories, that day, and also a turning point of her life. Her father tried to make an effort to be a "family man" and be around home more often, but Lina and her sister would have nothing of it. One day, fed up by his fake happiness and cheer, Cara exploded, telling their father exactly what she thought of him. His reaction at first was shock, and then anger. He threw her out of the house and onto the streets, and changed the locks that night. Lina never saw her again.

    She was only ten, and knew that she would never be able to survive on her own. Because of this, Lina stuck around home for another eight years, working hard through middle and high school, graduating at the top of her class, and moving onto an Ivy League college. The day she moved out of her home into her dorm room was a day where she had been more relieved than she had ever been for a while. Quickly saying goodbye to her father, she headed off to college without a backwards glance. That day, when she was eighteen, was the last time she saw her father.

    After a grueling four years of college where Lina once again came out on top of her class, her personality had changed immensely. Her competitive nature had been fostered by her number one standing, and she was cold, feeling and showing no emotion at all. Her classmates avoided her because of this, and she knew that the life of something undercover and full of mystery awaited her.

    The way she found the NSB is undisclosed, especially with all the rumors circulating about the Salvators. However, she is one of the top trackers of the NSB, and is quite proud of herself for that. Despite the fact that she has taken great strides to put her former family life behind her, Lina still dreams of seeing her sister again, or even her mother, although her mother is dead.
