Don't panic. We aren't closing down or anything. However, we will be closing down from any new registrations while the staff works through a lot of changes we have floating around in our brains. We feel that Dear Journal was opened up much too quickly for it's own good, and we weren't prepared for the massive idea that is Dear Journal in the slightest. So while we work things out, we unfortunately have to turn the site offline.

But there is good news! Those of you who have already registered and are already a member of the board will have full access to it. You can submit your work, hang out with the staff -- we might even open up some advancements for you to get a head start on. But we also need our current members for a very important reason: we need your help to revise Dear Journal. As changes are decided upon, we will let you all know about it so you can get excited and give your input if we ask for it. It's a sweet deal!

So ... thank you for being a member of Dear Journal, and we thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation! We'll be open to the public again in no time!
