summer had just gotten home from running errands and she had a ton of energy. taylor really was rubbing off on summer. not that she mined, she enjoyed having extra energy. but now she had no idea what to do with herself. she thought about going into the pool, but she didn't want to mess up her hair. maybe she could call luke or taylor to see what they were doing. truth was, she really wanted to call zach stevens, her...not boyfriend. well, not her boyfriend right now. summer flipped her sidekick open, punching in zach's number, but she closed her sidekick before she actually called.

luckily, her thoughts were interuppted by her doorbell ringing. oh please be someone good! she sprinted over to the door, opening the door up to reveal...zach stevens. okay, so not who she thought, but she couldn't help but smile upon seeing him. she really had missed him lately. "hey. come on in." she said, closing the door once he was inside. by intstinct, summer leaped into his arms for an embracing hug, not caring if was violating some sort of code.

zach was very anxious at the present time . lately , he had been , though , so it was just a trend by now . his parents and his sister would constantly nag him until he spilled what was wrong , but this time , they seemed to just back off . which was a relief for once , because a waterpolo player spilling out his guts to his parents isn't the most common sight to be seen .

well , luke could guess it - summer and zach had another break-up. now that was common for this " on and off " couple ... just zach seemed to never know why . why on earth were girls so moody ? oh , he remembered what he did wrong this time : he didn't say that he loved her . but how could he ? zach was only seventeen ... he had no idea what love meant . was love like joannie and chachi ? luke and leia ? wait , no ... they were brother and sister . uhh , maybe . zach did not want to lie to summer - he could not say he loved her if he did not know . seriously ... overreaction much ?

but all of this action was making zach tense . what if she never would talk to him again ? his stomach dropped at the thought ... his waterpolo future could go down the drain . he knew what he had to do , and that was to make it right between him and summer .

zach took a deep breath as he appeared at the robert's front door step . he raised his finger to press the button hesitantly , but then shook his head , and turned around , taking a step . he paused - then turned on his heel and pressed the doorbell , with a slight cringe . "hey. come on in." he saw summer's face and heard her voice , and an instant smile appeared on his face . he saw summer leap towards him , and he backed away automatically , afraid that she was going to slap him in the face . but when she pulled him in a hug , he blinked a few times , before grinning and wrapping his arms around her tiny waistline . "hey!" zach replied , after a few good seconds , he let go of summer's tight grip . "how are you?" he asked in his usual , overwhelmed voice .

summer was glad to see zach. she really did miss him a lot. it was kind of pathetic and she wasn't sure she would ever actually admit that to him. how was she? "i'm good. keeping myself busy. the usual." she said, leading him upstairs to her room, where she closed the door behind them. she figured her mother would be home anytime soon and she wanted privacy with zach. her mother loved zach...probably more than summer did. she was always rooting for them and always get summer a bit of the cold shoulder when they were on a break. summer sat on her bed, patting the spot beside her, letting him know he could join her.

"how are you doing? is everything okay?" he asked, wondering if maybe something had happened to cause him to come and see her. or maybe he just wanted to work things out. who knew.

"i'm good. keeping myself busy. the usual." as zach heard this , he nodded rapidly . he followed her to her room , looking around to see if summer's mom was there . it was always nice to acknowledge the parents , but zach liked summer's stepmom was quite funny . and he got along with her dad , aswell . zach just naturally got along with people - he could even talk to marissa cooper , which was ... random .

zach sat down on the bed beside her , rubbing his hands together briefly , warming up his hands . "uh , yeah - everything's fine," zach said in one breath , scratching the back of his head . "i missed you?" he bit his lip , afraid of summer slapping him in the face or something . they were broken up after all - and he was afraid of summer's punches .
"oh yeah - and seth cohen is madly in love with you," he said quickly , and covered his face so she wouldn't hit him .

summer couldn't help but smile when he said he missed her. but before she could react to that statement, he said something random and kind of weird. seth cohen was in love with her? why was zach telling her this? and most importantly, how the heck did he know this? "okay first. i miss you too, a lot. but we will go back to that topic in just...one minute." she decided, knowing this seth cohen issue was much more important. she needed answers to her millions of questions.

"how the heck do you know he's in love with me?" she asked, looking up at zach with a confused expression on her face.
