basilique st. sernin. the largest romanesque basilique in the world, the basilique st. sernin is one of the largest tourist attractions in toulouse. the woods and streets around it are particularly busy, though calm, a perfect area for a nice picnic or sightseeing.

les platanes. near la scène are four plane-trees, perfect for relaxing in the shade, protected from the hot toulousan sun. three benches frame them, and old ladies with pigeons fluttering around their feet frequent them. a calm, quiet place rarely disturbed by rowdy teenagers.

son très joli visage craving some French cuisine? this little café is located only a few blocks away from hotel sofitel and is one of the most popular places in the city. with its light blue décor and its warm and inviting atmosphere, it is easy to see why so many people flock to it.

étoffe raffinée located just down the street form son très joli visage lies this small, fine clothing boutique. filled with silks and satin of all the colors of the rainbow you would think this place would be a very popular shop. it is, but to those wealthy enough to afford to shop here.

la librairie du lion. just next door to étoffe rafinée is a small coffee shop and book store. the small, wood paneled room is lined with bookshelves filled with the classic all the way up to the new releases. so come sit down in one of the comfy brown leather chairs and make yourself comfortable to read a good book for hours, or sit outside and sip your coffee while chatting with an old friend.
