He was already getting up when she asked him, giving a bright smile and a nod. ;Of course I want to." he shook his head as if she was being absurb, "really letting you ride around in the dark, you'd hurt somebody for crying out loud." he gave a nice goodbye to Ms. O' Dell and a nod to the riders as he folllowed Tandri out. "Are we going to be playing cat and mouse like this all the time?" his voice held a slight edge of seriousness though is smile remained. "Just so I know what to look for and all." he gave a roll of his shoulders as he mounted the mare watching tandri with a spark of amusement. She'd unlocked something he didn't have before, the frustration of not having it all back paled to the feeling the elf gave him. "We should hurry though." he needed to make her happy, one way was to get her out of the damn city.

She gave a nod and a soft smile, "I don't mind staying. I've never been here before remember? It doesn't bother me so much anyways..." she glanced around the room as people filed out. "Besides how could I pass up a breakfast here?" she stood to help clear dishes catching a glance of Xan now and again. She knew she hadn't lied to him, she was his even if someday he didn't want her. "I'll take the couch if you don't mind." she didn't want them to make up a room for her and the thought Xan wuld sleep on the couch when he had his old room was absurd. that an her early thoughts when he'd kised her, just made her blush at asking for anything else.

Melya just gave a secret smile and shrugged, "I didn't do anything I swear." she said her goodnights already carrying a sleeping boy as they left the house tucking the children in to bed. Promises to Bree she'd be there in the morning, and yes she'd make pancakes because Cain was horrid at it all these years. She nearly collpased on their bed...their it made her smile somewhat as she let the silk tickle her skin watching the ceiling. "This has been a rather ful day Cain." she raised herself up on her elbows watchingthe man head tilted. "I still miss you even when you're here." she sighed but the sound was content. As if missing him, because she had him was alright. "Come here." she held out her hand to him a gentle smile lifting her lips again as she added a please.

She had traveled alone and in the dark before, far too many times before. Half of her life had been lived in quiet solitude. If anything, she enjoyed the idea of company all the more from remembering how lonely the night was. “Good,” she sent a dazzling smile his way, “because I always prefer company who chose to accompany me, rather than attend because I request it, there’s quite a difference you know, and…I resent that. I would not,” she mumbled hotly under her breath. His question caught her off mark, but she quickly composed herself, a grin settled onto her lips, “Only if you’re a very fast cat and I can be a very slow mouse, I grow tired of all the chasing,” she insisted, with a bright smile. Already she felt her spirits up, leaving the city behind in a cloud of dust in into the dark foliage. The rhythm of her horse became in synch with her body. “Because I love tests,” she began, turning to smile on him, “And you did say I could request anything without you hitting me,” there might have been a tinge of humor in her voice, well, more than a tinge, “What if I said I was greedy, and wanted another kiss?”


“Wonderful breakfast you shall have,” he promised, although watched his sister and her friend with worry. “Let me know if they bother you Kai, I’ll put a stop to it. Kathy is my sisters age, they’re friends, she’s always been a bit of a stone in my shoe if you get my meaning,” it was important to him that Kai knew that, substantially important for some odd reason. She didn’t demand an explanation, to know if they had had anything in the past. Yet he wanted her to know there was nothing. The notion of Kai taking the couch was ridiculous, “Nonsense, you’ll have a guest bedroom silly,” he grinned widely, “My mother is making up the sheets as we speak. You might offend her if you say no,” although he knew she wouldn’t. it was easier to get Kai to agree, he could see that already.


All she received for a reply was a snort and a ‘right’ before they left the house. Secretly, whatever Melya had done Cain was proud of her for. She had never been assertive before and the new charge she took was very…seductive to say the least. It made him grin from ear to ear. Back in their bed room he watched her with a wolfish grin and when she mumbled how she still missed him even when he was here, he felt his heart melt. “With every glance I see you Melya, it’s like another miracle. I could cry out that your back with me and my life is no longer filled with shadows.” Eagerly, he took her hand in his and managed to nestle her into the bed, his arms holding her, a grin set on his face as he assaulted her neck with kisses until he reached her ear, a playful smirk tugged on his lips.

“I do not make horrible pancakes.”

His eyes were allowed to waneder and take in the surrounding area for awhile as he listened to her speak. "Mh I can be pretty fast." he grinned s he moved Kit closer to her, without a single wod. Even while the horses continued onward his lips found hers. t was a kiss of more tomorrows instead of the dyng passion he'd given before. As if he finally understood what his life was meant to do, and who it was for. "I could use a few tests now and then, keep a man sharp." his tone was light as he brushed his hand down her arm. "But..." he trailed off and shook his head a tired expreission that showed how drained he'd become through-out the day. Yet even so he smiled in her company, "I do hope you know i don't ever need to test you. On anything Tandri."


glancing at the girls with a new found realization, that she'd been there before. It wasn't a good place to be she also realized something else. She didn't care, because she wouldn't step back for anyne or their feelings. As her arms circled around Xan's waist she smiled somewhat, "I don't think I could say no to your mom anyways." she gave a light shrug as she watched him for a moment. "Are you sure you'll be ok to leave tomorrow...? Maybe we could stay just another day." she didn't want to make him leave at all, hell she could stand Kathy for awhile if it meant Xan got to spend more time with his family. She was finding ways to stall sleping as well, afarid if she wke up he wouldn't be there,

She felt her laughter bubbled forth as she anagled her face to meet his. Cathing his lips in a desire from earlier on in the day when finding him again. "You could go make some now, and i'll judge if you really want." her voice teased as her lips worked against his inbetween words. "Though I do rememeber someone almost burning the house down once..if only I could recall who..."

A twinkle sparkled in her emerald eyes, “I hope you’re as quick as your namesake, then,” she certainly wasn’t about to make the idea of a soul mate harder for Fox. From hearing the stories, Tandri was well accustomed to the fate and with Calder she accepted all the ties that came along with being a rider, not bothering to fight anything that could come as a blessing. The twinkle sharpened in her eyes, “No tests, only requests now and again,” she’d promise, but Tandri’s word wasn’t as golden as she’d like to believe it was. If it was for the better good, she broke her word, no questions asked. “My chatter is tiring you?” he looked drained, a bit of guilt began to set in. She had lived alone for so long, often times Tandri forgot how different human and elves truly were. “We could hasten our strides, return to the keep quicker,” she added a suggestion, if only to relieve her guilt.

While staying with his family was heavenly, Xan was accustomed to these one night stays and then hitting the road once again. “Don’t worry Kai, I’m fine with leaving tomorrow. We’re stationed closer to Sidhe, which means I’ll already be allowed to visit them more frequently than I am used too. I’m sure it is a blessing on my mother.” He wouldn’t keep her here with his hostile neighbor either, Kathy had a mean streak about her when she wanted too. He pressed his lips to her forehead to give a tender kiss before moving away. “We can leave early mid-day, hopefully we’ll either meet up with Cain and Melya or beat them there. I don’t want any grief from the four of them if we’re late on training and preparing.” He mumbled a sweet good night and then trudged upstairs, anticipating the sweet feeling of his bed.

“Funny, very funny,” he mumbled between kisses. Cain’s eyes rolling as he flipped onto the back of their bed. Tomorrow they would have to leave their family once again, only this time they wouldn’t be separate. Callista strolled in, her wise eyes cleverly arched and smirking in a knowing way. “You’re interrupting something,” Cain mumbled, as she huffed out a breath of smoke. “I know,” was her sassy reply before settling down by the window, “I’m looking for something, your window has it best, save your reproduction mating rituals for another night, you’ll have plenty of them,” she snapped. Cain groaned and moved back to nuzzle against his wife, “Bloody dragons,” he whispered into her throat, kissing her softly before pulling her into his arms. “Tomorrow we’ll ride hard, pick up Kai and Xan and the real work will begin.” It always had to end with work.

He had assured Tandri that it was being with her that kept him awake at all. When they arrived at the keep he snuck in another kiss before headin for bed, welcoming the sleep that over-came him. When Reacta woke him, he moved downstairs now relaxed infront of a map of al the know lands and worlds. His fingertips dancing over the page now and again as if it was speaking directly to him. He had already guessed when everyone would arive, it was time to train and work. Finding love or not, it didn't stop the task looming over head as it was.

She had slipped into bed and found herself asleep at once, only to wake with a very ragged hair cut and snickers trailing down the hallway as if they'd pulled off the best prank around. She also realized her clothes were in shreds. A sigh escaped her lips as she streached her hair repairing itself without even the slightest thought. A crimson dress with an open back did the job well enough. It had been a full length dress but after the girls attack it was tattered at the hems and the back needd a slight touch up. All in all they could have done worse, making her way downstairs she sent the girls a dazzeling smile as they growled. She was holding the same smile as she sat for breakfast tying her hair back into a signiture black ribbon. "Ms.O'Del thank you again for letting me stay here." she was used to wearing far less clothing so the girls were put off once more. She was overjoyed in th fact, even stiffling a giggle as Airea gave her an eye roll.

Melya had given a dark glare butcouldn't muster much more as she drifted off beside Cain. Manageing to slip out of his arms and start pancakes before anyone could wake up. As normal she ould be the early riser. She almost stayed next to Cain but she'd promised the kids the night before..she'd have him forever now. The kids would be sparse visits here and there. Tabion was busy clening the leftover batter from the bowl to worry himself about Melya. He did offer a batter dripping smile tht had er in a fit of laughter. Which in itself was all the help she needed.

“You’re up early,” Tandri commented as she moved around Fox, much like moving around the sun. It felt right, where she belonged. Like yesterday she chose a typical flowing skirt, a tight upper body piece and tight sleeves. The colors were of pearl and indigo. Her hair however, was styled up in a tight massive twist, a small circular silver ring placed through her hair and coming into a v shape on her forehead. She rested her hand against the wooden table behind him, a smile graced her lips. Once they had left Sidhe, her muscles had stopped tensing, her smile easily coming back and the twinkle sparkling in her eyes. Sidhe was worlds away from her, as far as Tandri was concerned. What she had lost years ago could be left where it should be, in the past. “The others are coming,” she whispered, turning her head and hearing the far off distance of horse hooves. “I’d give ten, maybe fifteen minutes…” she closed her eyes and then smirked, “Someone is lagging behind, but the others are keeping the pace…ten minutes, I was off with fifteen.” Oh the wonders of elvish ears.



Mrs. O’Dell was as warm and open as she was when the group had first trudged into the room. “You dears be careful, worlds not to be trusted,” she mumbled along with all sorts of little tid bits of advice while she served and cleaned up after breakfast. Xan kept silent through the dinner, sharing warm smiles and laughs at appropriate times. He gave his sister a warning glance and mouthed some word of advice before suggesting it was time to go. “I believe Cain and Melya will be hear soon Kai,” he told her as he grabbed his cloak and tied it on. Stretching his muscles he gave his mother a peck on the cheek and promised to visit soon. Outside Heavenly snorted at the oncoming horses and stomped her foot in impatience. Rosalind was already trotting by the horse, she was beginning to grow larger and was the size of a large wolf. "By the way," he added as he gathered up Heavenly's reins, "You look so radiant, I hadn't much of a heart to yell at the girls, not when you look so captivating in that dress."


He woke up to the warm smell of pancakes and the salt water tears of children as he was forced to leave early, this time with his wife in stow. “Come on then darling, enough with the hugs and kisses, you’ll bruise them,” he joked before giving the children his own good bye and trusting their house keeper to do her job and look after them. Outside he gathered the reins on the horses and mounted Vlad. The two would pick up Xan and Kai and then make their way to the Keep. Hopefully they wouldn’t end up being lectured for hours on being so late, Cain had meant to have an earlier start but such things don’t always occur. As they passed the O'Dell house, they met up with Kai and Xan and Cain took the lead as he was accustomed too. "We'll have to begin our strategy at once, research and knowledge in how Kala is becoming so powerful so quickly. There has to be a way to destroy her and we're going to have to figure out how," something that had been attempted for years and never achieved. Hopefully the six of them would be enough.

His gaze washed over her breifly before returning to the map once more. His smile lasted however as he spoke, "You look amzing Tandri." his words were easy as he rose facing her, lips finding hers quickly before the others returned. "Just to steal one for now." he whispered well aware of the apporaching voices. Reacta sighed her body sprawled out along the couch in a worry free manor. As if she cared not who showed or who left as long as Fox was near his rightful dragon. "They are so noisy." the dragonette muttered as Tabion bounded into the room half the size of Melya's wolvn form but still a haunty size to him all the same.

She had been more than happy to say goodbye to Kathy and Xan's sister...however it felt odd to leave his mother. She even gave the wman a longer hug than she had intended to. Now on their way and Xan's comment buzzing in her ear she smiled, "I would have done something but it's your sister. Plus i'd mess up and make it permenant." she shrugged and knew she should have soundd more joking. Exceot she wasn't. Her magic was on one day gone the next, a rather tiresome event she dealt with. Airea was still small enough to remain in her lap. His ego still intact besides the fact he was a shrimp to everyone else.

Melya lagged behind Cain slightly eyes watching over the landscape her body ached to tred along. Feel masive paws leave her mark against hat she knew would be soft terrain. None of them had seen her shift or her scars or even her as a wolf. She was doing her best to keep that part of her life as hidden away from sight as she could. Rather hard when she knew she could outrun all the horses and be back within the keep in a matter of mintues. Yet the need to be near Cain overruled the natural instinct to run. When he spoke she laughed at kai's soft groan he ears catching the releas eof air as she turned slightly to see the girl.

Kai managed a half hearted wave and a raise of an eyebrow a she caught a glimpse of the shiny ring on the girls finger. A low whistle dropped from her lips a Melya blushed and turned forward. " I want something small, but meaningful of something." she mused to herself absentmindly looking at her ring finger with a slight laugh. One had been placed their, what seemed ages ago. The small indent of it's place was starting to finally fade. Even though she couldn't get the memories to do the same. "We're home!" Tabion cheered glancing as the other riders finally eneterd. Jumping with a new sense of glee, "Lets do some training or planning, or yay!" he couldn't get everything out all at once until it squeezed into a roar.
