Professor Charles Xavier, head of the Xavier Institute for Higher Learning, senses a dangerous future for mutant-kind. The fear of mutant exposure weighs heavily upon him as he is well aware that the world coming to grips with the knowledge of powerful beings walking amongst them won't be easy. After all, the past has proven how well humans deal with things that are new, strange, and different.
In the year 2008 in our alternate universe, Earth-764, Professor Xavier's long time friend and fellow mutant, Erik Lensherr, is plotting an uprising to let the humans know that mutants are the future and that they won't just lie down.
A group of specialists are working on finding a cure for these poor lost souls while a secret organization is in the process of making robots, Sentinels as they call them, to try and wipe the mutant menace out. The world is dividing and rapidly falling into chaos. But what would you expect when everyone's feeling the Weight of the World on their shoulders?
