Hello, I'm a privilege to be here. I go by the username: Angel. If you want to contact me, I can hardly blame you. In my spare time I practice being modest and mastering a lack of self-confidence.
Joking, of course.
If you need to contact me, either use the C-Box or the forum. Naturally. PM me maybe. I don't bite, but this is the internet, and bad things happened to my computer when I tried the last time. So I've mellowed out since then.
Warren is a mutant who possesses the natural ability to fly, glide and hover by means of his wings. Their span usually reaches approximately 16 feet, and are feathered white, much like a bird's (more specifically a white bird). The wings have a very flexible skeletal structure, enabling him to press them to the back of his torso and legs with only the slightest sign of them under his clothing, this is most often accomplished with a special harness.
Angel's normal cruising speed averages around 70 miles per hour (112 kph), though he is capable of diving swoops that reach up to 180 miles per hour (290 kph). He can fly at 150 miles per hour (240 kph) without the help of a tail wind for up to half an hour at a time before tiring to an appreciable degree. Though he generally flies beneath the height of the clouds ([6,500 feet)(1981 meters)he can reach a height of 10,000 feet (3000 meters)with little effort. With severe strain he can attain the highest recorded altitude of a bird in flight (African geese at 29,000 feet (8840 meters) above sea level), but he could only remain that high for several minutes.
In addition to this, Warren's physique is anatomically suitable for aerial adaptation. His bones are hollow like those of a bird, making him weigh far less than usual for a man of his size. His body is virtually devoid of fat and possesses greater proportionate muscle mass than an ordinary human does. Angel possesses greater physical strength and stamina than an ordinary human, he can lift about 500 lbs. Warren is way cooler than a goose, and they say that those birds can brake arms and legs in times of pique, so imagine what this guy could do! The Angel's musculature produces less fatigue toxins during physical activity than the musculature of an ordinary human. He can physically exert himself at peak capacity for several hours. The Angel can fly non-stop under his own power for approximately twelve hours.
The tissues of Angel's body are somewhat harder and more durable than that of an ordinary human, although not at all to the point of being impervious, his body is structured to withstand the friction caused by flying at high speeds. As such Warren can tolerate much colder climates too. His eyes are specially adapted to withstand high-speed winds which would hurt the average human eye. He possesses a special membrane in his respiratory system enabling him to extract oxygen from the air at high velocities and altitudes.
Angel possesses an accelerated healing factor that enables him to repair damaged tissue with much greater speed and efficiency than an ordinary human. He can completely recover from non-fatal injuries such as slash and punctures within a matter of hours and injuries as severe as broken bones within a few days. This ability extends to being transferred by blood, thus he can heal others who come into contact with his blood, provided they have the same blood type.
Warren Kenneth Worthington III was born in Centerport, New York to Warren Kenneth Jr. and Kathryn, in an extremely wealthy family. He is the heir to a fortune, and the Worthington business interests are very much likely to fall to Warren, upon the death of his father. The heritage is not entirely without risk, outside Warren's particular family nucleus there are a few relatives with an eye on the inheritance of Warren Jr. A particular character to be cautious of is Warren's paternal uncle; Burtram Worthington, who is / maybe / going to (spoiler alert) use Worthington Industries to cover his own diamond smuggling syndicate.
As a child, Warren often scared his parents as he kept climbing up trees and to their mansion's roof, apparently unafraid of any height. Later, the Worthingtons sent him to a private school in New York, where he met his roommate and best friend, Cameron Hodge. Warren pulled top marks in everything and was also a very talented athlete. It seemed that he had everything. It was also during his prep school days, that Warren became acquainted with the bright young girl; Candy Southern.
However, one day, after plucking a mysterious feather from his bed, too large to be from any pillow, Warren noticed that two small growths had begun to emerge from his back. Previously he had only ever been accused of having abnormally large shoulder blades. Perhaps the the two observations were connected? Indeed, it wasn't long before the lumps grew into full-fledged, angel-like, feathered wings. Warren knew that he could not allow anybody to find out about them, so he made himself the most hated kid at school, until he was ordered to move into a separate and lonely room.
Warren confided only in the family's private doctor, Dr. Stuart, who advised him to keep the wings secret, even from his parents. The wings grew bigger each day and Warren was both exited and yet also concerned, as it got more difficult to hide them. One night, there was a fire in the school's dorm. Warren tried to run out, but when he found the staircase already on fire he had no other option than to jump out of a window, hoping that the wings would slow his fall. Much to his own surprise, he found that he could use them for flying. As there were still other students trapped in the building, Warren disguised himself with a wig and a nightshirt to look like a true angel while saving those left in the dorm.
Electrified by this rescue, Warren designed a bright costume for himself and became a local super hero known as the Avenging Angel, using a gun with gas-filled bullets to stun his opponents. His short-lived exploits brought him to the attentions of Professor Charles Xavier and his rapidly forming X-Men; Scott Summers, Cyclops, and Bobby Drake, Iceman. When Warren found them waiting in his apartment, he at first mistook them for enemies, especially as they were after a vial he had retrieved from a group of thieves the night before. However, the vial contained a dangerous nuclear explosive and, once Warren was convinced, he took the vial high into the Earth's atmosphere, where the extreme cold allowed the secure deactivation. Warren nearly passed out from the thin air but Xavier's mental contact helped him remain conscious. Warren realised that if he hadn't knocked Iceman unconscious in the battle, he could have handled the crisis much easier. Since he had still a lot to learn, he accepted Xavier's offer and joined the X-Men.

It would have been a lot easier if he could sit comfortably, as a result neither would she. This was ludicrous. Somehow he hadn't got the harness on straight and... Out of context all this tantalising description could easily have raised a few eyebrows. Warren's feathered wings felt awkwardly constrained, pressed crookedly to his back, and he was shuffling in a somewhat constipated manner and leaning strangely whilst trying to look charming. As a result the young woman hadn't gained the proper appreciation for Warren's charisma, and mistook his pained smiling for ungentlemanly leering.'Please don't leave, I have this thing and...'
Dammit. She was gone, the situation was irretrievable. He sighed in acknowledgment of his defeat, tugging at his jacket and poking through the gabardine of his waistcoat -now the coast was clear. All of the maneuvering was in vain. What could he have hoped for from her anyway? The revelation of discovering that the handsome young man she was with, had two big bird's wings. There was no guessing what that reaction would be. Yeah, in a day dream maybe.
In a pique of self-indulgent moping, Warren let his wings free and took to the air within two great arcing sweeps; upper body as naked as it was the day he was born. If he glided along just low enough perhaps he would catch sight of some pretty girl admiring him, but not so near as to risk sharing his identity. After all who could blame a superhero for that?
