See Banshee... it's all the same as there. Banshee doesn't seem to be eliciting much interest though, perhaps I'll have better luck with Nightcrawler. For the time being I'll keep both, but I might wind up dropping one. Also, it's a lot easier for me to type in a German accent.

powers
Kurt possesses a mutated anatomy that grants him three fingered hands, two fingered toes, a prehensile tail, fangs, iridescent eyes, velvety blue fur, pointed ears, and an extremely flexible spine. He possesses heightened agility, reflexes, and coordination which have been further honed by his years as a circus acrobat. His body is surrounded by an extra-dimensional wormhole which absorbs light and casts him in perpetual darkness. He can also use this wormhole for teleportation from place to place within our dimension accompanised by a rush of air and smell of brimstone.
history
Kurt Wagner was born with certain unusual physical characteristics, but his power of self-teleportation did not emerge until puberty. Margali Szardos, a sorceress and gypsy queen, allegedly found Wagner an hour after his birth, in a small roadside shelter in the Bavarian Alps. She claimed to have found his alleged father, Eric Wagner, dead of a heart attack on the road outside, and Kurt's mother lying next to the baby dying. However, this claim was later called into question, and it was subsequently proven that Kurt's mother is Mystique, also known as Raven Darkholme, and his father is the demonic warlord Azazel. Mystique revealed that she threw him into a well after a large mob found out about Nightcrawler's existence, and Azazel admitted that he secretly saved his son from the fall, giving him to his lover and crony, Margali Szardos, to raise him. Margali took the baby to the small Bavarian circus where she worked as a fortuneteller, as a cover for her activities as a sorceress. Wagner was never legally adopted by anyone, but was raised by all the members of the circus, who had no prejudices against mutants. Margali acted as Wagner's unofficial foster mother.
Wagner grew up happily in the circus, and his two closest friends were Margali's natural children Stefan and Jimaine. Long before his teleportation power emerged, Wagner had tremendous natural agility, and by his adolescence he had become the circus' star acrobat and aerial artist. Circus audiences assumed that he was a normal-looking human wearing a devil-like costume.
Years later, the Texas millionaire Arnos Jardine, who ran a large circus based in Florida, heard of the circus for which Wagner worked and bought it. Jardine intended to move its best acts into his American circus; however, he demanded that Wagner be placed in the circus' freak show. Such is Kurt's life now, to live as an object of ridicule and fear.

A solitary figure sat alone in a corner of the backstage area of the circus that was reserved expressly for his use. It was not so much that he was averse to keeping company with others, but the others did not ever seem to express much interest in being around him. Even the other members of the freak show seemed to dislike him, and more than a few went out of their way to make it clear that they did not wish to have anything to do with him. All in all, it was not such a terrible thing. At least everyone generally left him alone, even if that kind of existence was a bit lonely it was infinitely preferable to the more violent alternative that was all too often found.
Quietly the figure knelt on the ground and began to speak in a soft tone with a heavy German accent. "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is vith zee; blessed art zou amongst vomen, and blessed is ze fruit of zy voom, Jesus. Holy Mary, Muzzer of God, pray for us seenners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Finishing his prayer asking Mary for her intercession in his current situation, the figure who was perpetually shrouded in darkness rose, pulled a cloak and hood tighter around him, and set off in search of food.

You've put forth a good app for Nightcrawler. I think there is a great potential here for introducing Kurt, of Claremont's X-Men, into this earlier era. Considering the move to fitting him into the 60's setting, his foster folks will likely have been refugees from central Europe, etc, and all that that may entail. However my approval of the app won't hinge on that, unless you want to append some details to Kurt's history --but that can all be discussed at a later date. One concern I do have, although your sample RP is fine, it doesn't quite satisfy that side of Nightcrawler who appears natural in the role as performer. This alongside his faith has always seemed a central part of his character. I'm not necessarily requiring an extended RP sample, although that may be easier --but I'd be interested in seeing how and what your approach to roleplaying that side of Kurt was, too.

Been trying to figure out how to best satisfy your request... perhaps a short something involving a trapeze act would suffice?

That sounds like a reasonable way to go. I suppose the issue is how Kurt, that character of faith you've described, is able to don his Nightcrawler act, be respected for these high antics and revel in the role, whilst also being the character that hasn't found that same social acceptance outside it. Or something, blah Of course not all posts during the game are expected to reiterate every facet of his psychology, over and over. Most things can be hinted at and covered over a longer period of writing, etc. But just something to show in the sample, that the performer character of Nightcrawler is the same guy that uses his faith as a source of strength, as well. Nothing heavy though, necessarily. Bet, you're wishing Cyke had appeared to review the app instead of me.

I had intended on playing Kurt as a bit more straight-laced and unsure of himself and/or monkish. More similar to how he was in the second movie than how he is in the comics.
Anyhow, he's a bit of a different sample post:
"Come one, come all! See the most horrifying sights known to man including a real life demon! That's right, in this here circus we have the gen-u-ine Demon of Dusseldorf!" The barker stood on a box outside of the tent that housed the freak show. Some of the freaks were women dressed in drag, and others were simply people in elaborate costumes. The only one truly worthy of the name, and inclusion in the freak show, was the one that the boss had dubbed the Demon of Dusseldorf because it sounded catchy. That and some people, people with money, hadn't entirely forgotten all about the Second World War.
"I am not even beink from Doozeldorf," Kurt muttered to himself, sitting docilely on his stool at the very end of the freak show tent. He was supposed to be the attraction's big finishing act, and to also occasionally teleport just in place. Apparently, that was supposed to prove to people that he really was what the barker claimed he was, namely the 'Demon of Dusseldorf'. The sad thing was it usually worked, some women actually fainted. A scream alerted Kurt to the fact that someone else had just popped around the corner for the grand finale.
"Will you look at that," the teenaged male half of the pair of people said. "That thing really is the 'Demon of Dusseldorf'." The boy, who couldn't have been much older than Kurt, led the girl he was with forward a little bit closer pulling the girl along by her hand and holding a cherry snocone in his other hand. "Still, demons are supposed to be red and not... well, I'm not really sure what color he is. Still, we can fix that."
The boy hurled what was left of his snocone at Kurt. Customers throwing things at him was hardly something new to Kurt. 'Father forgive them, they know not what they do,' he thought to himself just before he teleported out of the path of the snack before it could strike him with a loud popping noise and a puff of smoke that smelled of brimstone. There were shouts of surprise as Kurt reappeared a second later, hanging by his tail from a metal rod suspended about four feet above where his head had been when he had been seated a moment before.
"Guttentag Fraulein," Kurt greeted the couple in German with a toothy grin, waving with one hand and feeling only slightly bad that he was enjoying somewhat the looks of terror on both of the teen's faces. "Eef he vas mein boyfreend I vood be teachink heem better manner veen he eez joost meetink new people."
The lesson in etiquette coming from the 'Demon of Dusseldorf' was too much for the teenaged love birds and both ran screaming from the tent. Two more satisfied customers of the circus' freak show.

Thanks for the second sample. I also happen to think it's spot on! With that said, you have my approval to play Nightcrawler. Welcome... again. If you like we can open a new thread elsewhere and discuss introducing Kurt.
