1935

The American Government develops the Super Soldier Program in hopes of creating genetically superior soldiers for America. These experiments are done in top notch secrecy with reports being hand delivered to the president along the way. Humans and animals are the first to undergo these enhancements.

1938

The first successful living weapon is created in Steve Rogers, cleverly code named Captain America. This success was at the cost of several lives and the program was restricted to animal use alone. The following experiments only provided partial successes and Weapons II-IV were put down by the scientists who created them.

1939

World War II. Captain America’s Involvement in this war was critical in the allies success, however it did not bring in the support that the Super Soldier program had hoped it would. Weapons V and VI were created before the program was shut down due to lack of funds.

1954

The Vietnam War brings renewed interest in the Super Soldier Program. Expanding it’s subjects to include mutants and so Weapons VII - IX were created. Interest in the metal Adamantium lead to the creation of the unforgettable Weapon X. Though Weapon X escaped, he was still considered the greatest success to date.

1960

The Super Soldier Program is closed after the disastrous events leading to the creation of Weapon XI, Deadpool. The Weapon escapes into the general population.

1975

Professor Charles Xavier battles the Shadow King on the Astral Plane. Xavier’s Victory over the villain led him to believe Shadow King was gone, however this was not the case. Shadow King fled Xavier to recuperate and rejuvenate in secrecy.

1980

Professor Charles Xavier opens his school for gifted youngsters, secretly recruiting mutants to train, educate, and protect them from the outside world. The first few classes of the school are smaller, but grow as the number of mutants expand rapidly across the globe. From these early students, various X factions are formed. In response to these X factions, Magneto formed his original Brotherhood to combat against Xavier and to pursue his own dream of Mutant Superiority.

1990

Senator Kelly is possessed by the Shadow King and he begins his slow rise power starting with re-opening the Super Soldier Program by funding it personally. He contacts William Stryker to head up the operations in secret.

1995

Tensions between humans and mutants boil over after injustices on both sides occur. It has become common knowledge that mutants are in existence all around and in a panicked attempt to protect the weaker of the two groups, the Registration Act is created but not yet passed. Senator Kelly strongly backs the bill while Mutant sympathizers such as Professor Xavier, Doctor Hank McCoy, and representatives from the Human Mutant Alliance speak up for Mutant Rights.

1996

A sympathetic President is elected and the Registration Bill is not passed. The HMA wide spreads educational information to all about mutants, easing the tensions between humans and Mutants alike. Magneto’s Brotherhood looses it’s following and he disappears from the public eye to pursue goals unknown. Xavier’s School is filled to capacity with bright and eager students. Senator Kelly is elected as Vice President.

1997

Shadow King, still under the guise of Vice President Kelly, once again calls upon William Stryker. This time he puts into place the Church of Humanity which preaches out against mutants and claiming that they are abominations to God. The Church gains a quick following from people who had lost their loved ones in mutant related instances and those who were simply afraid. The Church of Humanity preaches that God will punish the impure in the new millennium.

1998

A devout follower of the Church of Humanity is sent to assassinate the current President with the help of the Shadow King. The crime is framed to look like a mutant attack and the country is put into an uproar. Vice President Kelly takes his place as President Kelly and works to spread fear into the lives of humans everywhere. The HMA battles against this, but the organization’s voice is all but silenced by the increasingly popular Church of Humanity.

1999

In preparation for the events Shadow King had planned, Senator Kelly secretly issued the creation of Sentinels, robots created to identify and capture mutants. He also had the inhibitor Chip created which would suppress a mutants powers once it was implanted in his or her skin. Both projects were completed in secret, like most of the Shadow King’s operations.

2000

A major power outage leaves the country without power for the first entire week of the new millennium, an event caused by the Shadow King’s own efforts. In the chaos both Wolverine and Professor Xavier go missing and have not been located since. When the power miraculously returns, Mutants are blamed for the event and Kelly uses the nations fear to quickly pass the Mutant Registration and Relocation Act which made all mutants register with the government with their name and powers. Mutants were then collected by government agents and taken to Relocation Centers.

Several Mutants fled, others fought back. Those who fled lived in secluded areas away from other people, forming their own colonies. Some stayed in the sewers of major cities, fleeing authorities. One major hidden colony formed by the X-Men was Genosha, tucked away in the Poconos Mountains and hidden by the combined efforts of Storm and Forge.

The human agents had difficulty capturing mutants and keeping them from escaping. The frightened mutants often used their powers to escape causing several human agents to lose their lives. Senator Kelly again used fear to push through the passing of laws that allowed for the creation and use of the inhibitor chip and Sentinels, both of which he had secretly already started.

The Sentinels proved to be the end of the small mutant rebellion. Mutants were easily rounded up and placed securely into their relocation camps around the States. Attempts to free these captured mutants often lead to the capture or death of the X factions that made the attempt, dwindling their already small numbers.

2002

All mutant colonies other than Genosha and a few sewer dwelling camps were captured or destroyed and life for humans settled back into their normal routines, other than seeing patrolling sentinels on a daily basis. They felt safe, exactly how Shadow Kind wished them to feel, in debt to him. Genosha attempts to provide its citizens with normal lives, to the best of it’s ability. Mutants and their human families live here in relative peace, but always in fear of being discovered.

2003

Business man Mojo sees the golden opportunity to exploit the despised mutants for his own fiscal gain and begins construction on Mojoverse, a private island he plans to use for his “games.” A back deal agreement with the lucrative Weapon X Program allows Mojo to pick out contestants from the Camps to compete on his island. The prize of “freedom” is offered to any contestant who can obtain 100 straight victories, a truly improbable task. Construction is completed the same year and the show is aired in late October with millions of viewers world wide.

2004

President Kelly is easily re-elected. The most devout members of the Church of Humanity are given special rights as Purifiers from the government. Purifiers are sent out on missions for God to cleanse out any remaining mutants. This often takes place in the sewers where the Morlocks call home. The Morlocks are always offered safety in the haven of Genosha, but choose to remain in order to attack the surface at the most opportune times. Membership in the Human Mutant Alliance is looked down upon, though not illegal. Members often fall victim to hateful violence.

2008

President Kelly is re-elected for a third term after publicizing the Morlocks “terrorist” acts and playing on the citizens’ fears yet again. Laws are passed making it illegal to harbor mutants in your home. The consequences of doing so are severe fines or jail time. Purifiers are given the right to investigate any leads on hidden mutant activity within homes without any warrant.

2011

Mutant gene testing is started in several large school districts around the country in the attempt to weed out new mutants. Children suspected of being a mutant are reported to the Purifiers who then keep a special eye on their families, waiting for conformation of mutant powers. Mojo’s Show is the top rated and most watched show world wide. The Morlock terrorist attacks become more severe and ruthless.

Genosha has established a large enough city to need a ruling council to guide them. Doctor Hank McCoy, Ororo Monroe, and Scott Summers are active on the council with Alex Summers leading the military branch of the city, including the X-Men. Scott Summers also acts as Headmaster for Academy X, the school for the children and young adults of Genosha.
