When you submit a character application, it will be reviewed by the Admins. Three of the five must agree to accept it before you will be approved to post with your character, and major canons will require the approval of all five. We will try to get your app reviewed as quickly as possible, but please be patient. Sometimes real life can get crazy, so give us a few days before you begin to interrogate us about it. If we have a problem with your application, we will send you a PM with suggestions or any areas we wish for you to clarify. This is a general idea of what we are looking for in an app:

Name: Your character’s name (Ex: Dr. Henry McCoy)
Code Name: Generally a descriptor of your character’s power (Ex: Beast)
Aliases: Any other names your character answers to or has gone by in the past
Affiliation: The group to which your character belongs (Options are: Genosha Citizen, Genosha Student, X-Factor, Morlocks, Mojo Contestant, Weapon X, or Mutant Prisoner.)

The above are self-explanatory, but just to make sure the Played by is the picture behind the character, sometimes referred to as a Face Claim. The players information will be at the bottom.

Powers:

Please fill out the following sections for each aspect of your character’s power. For example, Beast has a simian physique as well as enhanced strength, among other things. These should be described separately and with some detail.

Personality:

This section should be well thought out, as it applies to the way your character will interact with others. At least two solid paragraphs are required. Some things to consider: What does your character deem important? Politics, violence, religion, love, honesty, etc. What motivates your character? What traits does your character look for when choosing friends? How does he or she treat friends? What makes your character nervous? Is your character a leader or a follower? Strengths? Weaknesses? Fears? Goals? Feel free to include minor details; it is often the small things that can make a character come to life. Also, please try to refrain from the “Mary Sue” persona. Not every character is all-powerful, no one is pleasant and happy all the time, and no one is perfect. Give your character flaws.

Likes and Dislikes:

Please include at least 5 of your character’s likes and 5 dislikes.

Others:

List the important people in your character’s life and mention the nature of their relationship.

Full History:

This section must include at least 4 well-written paragraphs. Chronicle your character’s life so far. Include significant events, like the way your character first discovered his or her powers and any major upheavals in the family. Where was your character born? Was he or she raised by parents? Happy childhood? Traumatic accidents? Did your character do well in school? What did your character want to be? Please keep in mind, mutants have been persecuted for twenty years. Again, do not hesitate to add detail.

Writing Sample:

A writing sample is required for your first character and for any major canons; one may also be requested for a character with questionable powers. If you have any questions about whether or not a writing sample is necessary, contact one of the Admins. The sample you provide should be a sample of the character you are applying for and should be at least 2-3 paragraphs.
