Welcome to Writers Island!

I am Cobalt, and I will be your book master. On behalf of myself and the management here, I'd like to welcome you to what I hope will be a wonderful experience. There are just a few rules that I wish to ask all members follow however.

1: This site is for the purpose of sharing your writing, artwork, stories and Role-playing games, as well as a place to simply hang out and discuss topics of interest. Remember to mind your manners or we will have to assist you in doing so.

2: While swearing and violence can be strategically used to add action or power to one's writing, please keep it in check. An excess of any of the above will not be tolerated. Please keep things civil so all guests can enjoy their stay.

3: While posting remarks about others writing is allowed, it must be with the author’s permission. Respect other members and treat them like you would want to be treated. Remember there is a fine line between constructive criticism and insulting someone.

4: The Reading Room is for any kind of off-topic discussions or generalized chat however; disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Anything beyond friendly debate is not allowed. If you insist on having open arguments on the forums, you will be asked to take them to the PM's or elsewhere.

5: On the note of number 4: Any threatening, harassing or abusing any member of the board is ABSOLUTLY not allowed. If you do this for any reason, at any time, you will be removed and banned from the board. No questions asked or second chances.

6. You may post any kind of writing that you wish, with a few exceptions. We do not allow pornographic pictures or writing, and any documents that cover illegal activates (bomb making, computer hacking, identity theft...) you may also not post any work that is not your own. Anything you do on here must be your own works. No stealing.

7: Everyone makes mistakes (I know I do) but please at least make an effort. Posts in which every second word is spelled wrong or those with shoddy grammar are hard to read. This also goes for over use of exclamation points and typing in all caps.

8: We do not allow advertising for other boards on Writers Island. It is okay to place a link to your own board on the bottom of your signature line, but no creating threads for the purpose of advertising without the express permission of a Super-Mod or Admin. Any advertising threads done without this will be removed without notice.

9: Any problems with things on the board should be directed to a Moderator.

10: In the event of any kind of dispute, Admin/Mods have the final say in things.
