Hello all and welcome. Here is where we all come together and create a piece of work related to a focused Technique.

As our first Focused Technique Competition I would like to invite you all to challenge yourself in the following technique:

TO PAINT OR SKETCH A MONOCHROME BUILDING UP THE COLOURS

This means you are free to paint or sketch anything you like using any medium providing it is a monochrome and requires you to build up the colours.

The competition will run for a fortnight, with the winner having the honour of deciding what the next focused technique will be.

This month’s challenge starts today 8th of March 2009 and ends on the 21st of March 2009.

Voting will start on the 22nd of March 2009 and will go for one week. On the 22nd of March 2009 a poll will be set up and you will be able to vote for your favorite piece of work.

The winner will be announced on the 29th of March 2009

The piece of work you enter must be done for this challenge as no previous work will be allowed :)

So everybody get cracking the competition is yours for the takings most importantly though with whatever you do have fun :clap

Yeah I might. I have an idea on what I want to draw. It says anything so ..I find it easier for me to draw my characters than still lifes or realistic stuff.

Hi Kammy I am glad your thinking about having ago. I know it's probably easier to stick with your characters but you really should try to step out of your comfort zone from time to time as its the best way to learn to broaden your knowledge and skills. Just a little something to think about.

Hi Kammy I didn't mean to imply in anyway that am bored with your work so I really hope you don't feel that way. Just trying to encourage you to try new things but no pressure. Please feel free to do what you normally do by all means. Sorry if I in anyway upset you.
