PHASE ONE; it's a war (compleated)

Six years have came and fallen since the days of Nathanial and Ferdinand, the sons of the great and powerful Kavenoir the Light and Rancose the Dark. Both get of the mighty stallions have fought in ruthless battle like their fathers and fallen, their once loyal followers that would be more then happy to kill foals for them now run without rulers. Most were given sight after their horrible misdeeds, and have ventured into the mountains, escaping all that is now seen unmoral. However, the wars have not ended. Some locals have stayed behind, thinking that the fools who left were but small pawns. They needed knights and warriors to fight for their alliances divinity. A nice herd sized group did not abandon their home, now ill-populated and withering. Hooves no longer beat the grasses, and the ones who chose to stay are beginning to rethink, but remain strong in their decision to with hold their birth home. Hope seemed lost, since the equine seemed not come across one another in their travels, however joy beheld the day equine alien to them appeared... It seemed that foreigners were joining the ranks, and being corrupted by the world of Withering Tales.

PHASE TWO; tension (completed)

Eight years lay in the void between the present and the times of Nathanial and Ferdinand, the sons of the great and powerful Kavenoir the Light and Rancose the Dark. Though the two equine lords lay dead as stone in their graves, some few loyalists still remain, scattered across the land. Foreigners have begun showing their hides on the door steps of this land, fate drawing them here by man made accidents on Highway 99. The new comers being afraid and alone, the straggling remains of Kavenoir and Rancose found these wandering souls, and it was not a hard task to poison their brains with thoughts of hate and war for the other alliance.

And so, for two long years, the sides which now renamed themselves Lights and Darks have battled and brawled, all trying to claim the land in the name of their alliance. But the quick high of passion that came with the foreign equine recruits is almost gone. In the dead of night, loyalists now question to themselves why they bother with the fight. The eight hard years have taken a toll on their limbs, and they are not the commanders they once were. But though that thought may be tinged with doubt, it is doubly tinged with hate. Hate for the other side that they have been unsuccessful in snuffing out. The spirit of war is stretched out, like the hide of the drum. And each new battle is like a hand slapping the drum, the rhythm of a weary war creating a feeling that only one word could describe.
Tension….

PHASE THREE; falling out (current)

Tension has rippled through the mountains, echoed through the valleys, and shook the foundations of the woods. The locals are anxioius, nervous, and unpredicatable, stirring up a new chaos in the heart of Withering Tales. The two alliances have found little to agree on in recent times, readying themselves to fight over the smallest of ordeals. Eye contact has become a new challenge, and has sparked brutal force between gangs. The new comers, unaware of the story behind everything, seem to cower as the locals ascend to a new level of vigorous ferocity.

Oh, but now, now there is a new happening that shakes the knees and hocks of the foals. Words and rumors have whispered through the grape vine of sinister deeds. Murders. Friends and family are mysteriously disappearing from both alliances, and the hordes and rounding up search parties, demanding their enemies to give them the location of their lost. However, neither is swaying from their ground, standing like valient knights before the draw bridge as the last out numbering fleet descends on them. Crimes are shaking the war, criminals are roaming the streets. Everything is falling apart.
