Appearance||

Elias is a very tall and skinny boy. He weighs about as much as his older sister and is quite a bit thinner than her. He eats a lot, too, but he still remains a stick. He has a rather sharp bone structure, with sharp cheek bones and chin, and sharp hips and elbows. He's lanky, too, though it works for him in an oddly charming way. He's peachy skinned, and in the winter months especially pale, though in contrast the summer months make him as red as a tomato. Usually his nose is the worst, since it's a bit large for his face, sticking out in a way that the sun hits it first. His eyes are a dark brown and his hair stops right about his shoulders in wavy locks of a chestnut brown. He doesn't really have all that much muscle on him, since he isn't one for sports, but it doesn't look bad on his skinny frame.

Usually you'll see Elias wearing a t-shirt and jeans, and sometimes his robe, if in the mood. He doesn't really care all that much about fashion, though he does own a nice jacket or two. Most of the time he's comfortable in some variation of his uniform, because it's easy to just through on, though sometimes even he gets bored with it and would rather wear one of his old shirts. His feet usually are covered with a boot or some sneakers, either of which are very worn. When it's class time, though, Elias is sure to be seen in a pair of nice black dress shoes and his uniform nice and clean, this goes for any other event where it would be proper to dress nicely. He does believe in that quote, "Dress to impress!" So if he thinks he needs to, he will.

Personality||

Hogwarts really changed Elias. He entered scared, almost fearing magic and not wanting to learn it, and changed into someone eager to learn anything he could about magic. He grew to adore everything about it. Part of him wished that he could tamper in the dark arts, for curiosity's sake, but a bigger part of him has pulled himself away from that want. He's realized that he wants to learn all that he can, but nothing that could do harm to someone else. He's imagined the way he would feel if someone went after his family, obviously using the dark arts, and he doesn't like what he sees. For this reason, he's promised himself never to touch it, knowing that there is a reason that they hold the title "dark."

Beyond academics, Elias loves learning about the culture of the wizarding world, and in turn, loves to chat with anyone he can find. He doesn't like conflict, though, so if he has a run in he usually tries to think up the quickest way out of it. Though one shouldn't underestimate him, because even though he runs, he still would know what to do in a fight, though it may come a bit awkwardly. One could look at this trait as cowardly, but he looks at it as smart. Why get involved with something of the like when there is no need? He'd rather spend the time with a friend of his, or writing a letter to Orleta. Why waste you time fighting over something as stupid as a nudge to the shoulder or a glare? Elias finds it pointless.

Moving on, Elias, like any of normal teenage boy, has a great attraction to the female specimen, though he finds himself to be a bit clumsy with his words around them. If he gets a girl alone, though, away from her pack, and he knows more about her than her last name, he gets comfortable. When Elias is comfortable with a girl he can turn his charm on, but not without a blush to his cheeks, and maybe a stutter or two at first. He always has a problem snagging them, though, and so he hasn't had very many girlfriends. But he's okay with that, because girls are not the top priority on his list at the moment. In the future, though, he know that he wants a family. There's no other way around it, it's how he was raised and he just can't imagine his fute any other way. Though he doesn't really want quite as big a family, though. One or two kids would be just fine with him. He would never want to deal with the amount of stress leading a large family would bring, he got enough of it being a member of one.

Speaking of stress, Elias doesn't handle it well. He tends to take to much on and then not really know how to deal with it all. Under the stree of everything he tends to get flustered, but he'd never ask for help. He's never been the one for asking for help, only giving it, like with his younger siblings. So when he really does need help, things can get bad. He avoids it at any cost, even though he knows he's being stupid. This is the only time he's ever stubborn, so sometimes this can seem uncharacteristic for him if you don't know him that well. Even if you do know him well, you probably wouldn't notice his difficulty until it's too late, as he knows how to hide it well.

History||

Family History:

Just like her mother, Orleta Clifford, and her father, Gabriel Clifford, Marina Clifford grew up in the bustling city of London. Unlike her parents, though, she hated it. Marina vowed that as soon as she was able, she'd escape, she'd pack up a bag and travel the world. She didn't care that her parents expected her to settle down straight out of high school. She didn't care at all. And so, the moment she graduated from her all girls institute (who produced such lovely women to marry!) she grabbed her packed back and took a train. She didn't know where it was headed, and she didn't really care. All she knew was that at the end, there would be something new and exciting. There were quite a few trains after that, she was always on the move, never staying in one place to long. Many looked at her as a recluse, someone to stray away from and hope the worst for. She looked the part, too, with her raggety clothes and dirty face. But she never let it bother her, for she had made the choice to leave, she didn't regret it.

One day, though, Marina found herself back on the streets of London, back at the steps of her family's large apartment. It seemed that somewhere between France and Italy she had felt a longing. She was tired of streets and being wild. She'd burned it out of herself. She wanted to go back home. So when she reached her family's apartment she was quite broken up to see that her own family was long gone, and replaced with a young bachlor. Sure, she found him lovely to feast her eyes on, but he wasn't her Mum, and he wasn't her Dad. Non-the-less, she found herself letting herself be led in by his strong hand for a cup of coffee. She learned his name was Edgar Oliver, and that he'd been living there for six months. He didn't know where her family had gone, all he could tell her was that they weren't there when he'd first took interest in the place. Marina sat there, captivated by his speech, and soon captivated by his kindness at letting her use his shower and a pair of his clothes.

Fast forward a year and you'd find them sitting at the same table, only this time she was wearing her own clothes and there was a rather new ring glistening on her finger. They were newly married, Marina was barely getting used to her new last name, but she had news for Edgar. They were expecting. Nine months later a baby girl by the name of Orleta (for her mother), was born. They dotted upon her and Marina treated her like a princess, as if trying to make up with her mother for running away. But it was a different Orleta, and this aching in Marina's heart made her crave another baby, wanting to make up for the family she'd foolishly given up. So about ten months after Orleta was born, Marina was pregnant again. Edgar was all the more happy, for he too wanted another child. Months later, they now had a boy with a curly mop of brown hair and bright eyes. They named him Elias Gabriel, after both of their fathers. Growing up, both Orleta and Elias were very close, practically best friends. So when Elias was three, and Orleta barely five, and they now had a baby brother, the didn't know how to react. Orleta took the first move and gave little Charleston a kiss on the nose, and Elias stared on with wonder. Throughout the following years, more members of the family were added; Kayla, Samria, and Clark, and then a fluffy white sheep dog by the name of Calendar (they let the littlest name him). They'd long since moved from the apartment, and into a lovely house just outside of London.

Character History:

Elias loved his family, he really did. But sometimes they got on his nerves more than anything. Being the oldest boy of the family but him in the situation of somewhat being the man of the house, at least when his father was away at the neighbors, trying to fix their oven. He was eleven years old, and although he wasn't the oldest, since Orleta was newly a teenager, he still felt a sense of responsibility. Which was why he always stuck up for his little brothers and sisters, and helped them with their studies and checked in on them everyday. He felt like he had to. From the time he was little his mother had pounded in him the importance of family, instilled it in him that nothing came before. And he truly believed it. He loved and cared for his family more than anything, but he couldn't help but get tired and annoyed sometimes. What else did you expect from an eleven year old, after all?

The only member of Elias' family that he could ever just be himself with, though, was Orleta. They'd been the best of friends since he was out of the womb, and they were never without the other. They played together, laughed together, worked together, and were just always, simply, at each other's side. Elias even played dolls with his older sister, though he made her promise not to tell a soul. And she didn't, because they never did something like that to each other. It was an unspoken pact that they were more than just brother and sister, they were best friends, and best friends didn't let each other down. They thought that way even at the youngest ages, and continued to think that way as long as the other was there.

When Elias got his Hogwart's letter, he was extremely shocked. Sure, he had done some strange things in his time, weird things had happened that he couldn't explain. Orleta had even told him once that she could have sworn she'd seen him levitating above his bed one night, but those were all just weird instances! Elias didn't want to believe, so he hid his letter under his bed and tried to pretend he'd never gotten it. He didn't even show it to Orleta, which was saying something. Elias went through the rest of the day perfectly normally, trying not to think about the letter hidden in his room. The following morning another came. And the next day, and the day after that. Elias just kept hiding them, not wanting to even imagine that they were real, that he could go to this odd school. About a week after he'd gotten his first letter, a knock came to their door during dinner time. His mother set down her fork and rose, wiping her hands on her apron. When she returned, she had a tall, rather skinny old man with a long, white beard beside her. He was wearing the most odd clothes that Elias had ever seen. Part of him, in that instant, just knew he had something to do with the letters. And he was right.

After that day, everything changed. Soon Elias was getting ready to be shipped off, away from the family he cared so much for, away from his best friend, his sister, Orleta. He didn't want to go, he wasn't excited and he didn't like the sound of the place. He didn't want to go there, he didn't want to meet new people, he didn't want to learn about magic. But he went to Diagon Alley, and he bought his weird clothes and his wand and even two pets. That was all he was excited for, the animals. He got a black barn owl with gray eyes, and he named him Max. Then he got a bright white cat and named her Penelope. He knew that they would be of great comfort at this new school. The owl apparently could send letters to his family, and the cat would just remind him of his big white dog at home. He knew that they would at least make him feel better each lonely night.

When Elias left for Hogwarts, and got on the train, he was surprised. He thought that it would be different, somehow. Not so warm and welcoming and friendly. But it was, and the aching in him slowly ebbed away as he sat in a compartment and talked with his new classmates. With each year that went by, Elias grew to call Hogwarts a second home, and he always looked forward to coming back. He wrote his family as much as he could, and Orleta the most. Hogwarts hadn't ruined their friendship, but it was a bit strained, since he didn't get to see her very often. Orleta always wrote to him, telling him how she missed him and it wasn't the same without him. Elias constantly worried for her when she told him stories of what was going on in her life, but he knew there was nothing he could do. He came home every chance he got, every holiday. he hated missing out on his families life. Each time he went back, so much had changed. But he was different from the little boy who's been so scared of Hogwarts, he always wanted to go back now. Sometimes trips home even became tiresome, as with each one he felt less and less a part of the place. He hated the feeling, and he knew it was his own fault he felt that way, but he couldn't seem to help himself.

Now Elias is getting ready for his seventh and final year at Hogwarts, and he's excited. Yet part of him is so nervous. When it ends, where will he go? Will he go back to his family? He wanted to say yes, that he'd finally be a permanent fixture there, but he knew better. The call to the magical world was far to great to him. He knew that he'd possibly be seeing them even less. The only comfort he felt was that he knew that Orleta would be in safe hands, as she'd soon be marrying. He thought it was very soon, since she was barely nineteen, but he knew she was happy, and that's all he cared about.

Likes||

[x] Being outside, because the fresh air and sun just make him feel good.

[x] A good conversation, because it's intriguing and entertaining.

[x] Visiting home, because he misses his family so!

[x] Dressing nice, because when you look presentable people take you more seriously.

[x] His cat, because she calms him when he needs it and she just makes him happy. Plus she reminds him of his dog at home, which in turn reminds him of his family.

Dis-likes||

[x] People with nothing good to say. They waste his time and usually irritate him, though he may not show it.

[x] Stress, because he really just doesn't know how to handle it well.

[x] When people he barely knows call him Gabe. That's reserved for close family and close friends.

[x] When people distract the teacher in class, just because they don't care about their future or their brain doesn't mean he doesn't.

Other||

Elias enjoys the company of most, or at least he can easily tolerate people. He can usually strike up a chat with a lot of different people, and he enjoys it too. While a lot of people would find an old man's story of his day dull, Elias finds the excitement in it and is entertained. And he lets it be known with a smile of appreciation. You can tell when Elias is most comfortable with a person by the way he sits, too: relaxed, not tense at all, with a careless look upon his limbs. When he isn't comfortable his muscles tighten and his body doesn't move as freely. So, the more loose he looks, the better!

Out of his family, he most clearly gets along with his older sister, Orleta, the best. He can tell her pretty much anything, though there are just some things he can't. And chances are, if he can't tell her, he can't tell anyone. Second in his family would be his brother Charleston, or Charlie as they called him. He was the second closest in age, at almost fifteen. He gets along with the others fine, he's just not as close.

Best Traits:

[x] loves to learn

[x] gets along with most

[x] caring

Worst Traits:

[x] Self destructive when in need of help

[x] Avoids conflict

Personal Strengths:

[x] learning

[x] lying (when he needs to)

[x] self control

Personal Weaknesses:

[x] asking for help

[x] facing his fears

Fears:

[x] Getting so distant from his family that things become awkward.

[x] His stress getting in the way of something EXTREMELY important.

[x] Being old and alone with regret.

Animagus: He'd love to become one some day, just because he thinks that it would be an interesting experience. If he were one he'd probably be a dolphin, friendly, smart and always with his family or friends. Though it would suck to be a dolphin for an animagus, since it can't walk on land and it needs water.

Boggart: Something bad happening to Orleta because he wasn't there to help her.

Patronus: Most likely it would take the form of either his big white sheep dog at home, Calendar or his pet cat Penelope.
