Distinguishing Features: Probably his glasses, although they're not so incredibly distinguishing.
Personal Style: James usually just throws on whatever is clean. Or whatever looks like it's clean. He doesn't care much for appearances.

Overall Appearance: James is often fawned over for his insanely good looks, and thus has many girls almost literally attached to his side. (Or, he wishes, at least.) He is extremely good looking, however he must admit that his fan club isn’t nearly quite as big as that of his best friend, Sirius Black. But regardless, this is about HIM, not Sirius. (Hahaha… it’s about ME)

James’ favorite trait would have to be his amazing hair. He has permanently messy jet black hair which he likes to tousle often, even though it really doesn’t need any help. He believes that girls love the ‘just gotten off the broomstick’ look, as Lily Evans so wisely puts it. (She just won’t admit that she digs me too. Oh well, she’ll come around.)

Underneath his wiry glasses, James has shiny hazel eyes which he uses to turn girls on. They often can’t say no to him after they take a deep look into his longing hazel eyes. He’s always considered that a special talent of his, even though once again, he might not be able to compete with Sirius. (NO! Me remember!! >.<)

His naturally gorgeous face would be nothing without a practically perfectly shaped body to be perched on top of, and that’s exactly what James calls his own. Quidditch makes his muscles nicely toned, without being too bulgy. He is very slender, so he is able to go rather fast on a broom, a key asset to his Chaser position.

James believes that if wizard’s had their own picture dictionary, his image would be placed next to the words handsome, flawless, and kickarse, because he is most certainly the best specimen of all three of these things. And no, he is not egotistical. (Why would you think that of me?)

-falling off of his broom. (Hey, I know I'm skilled, but it could happen.)
-bad things happening to his parents, his fellow Marauders, and of course, his Lily {Bad things, I tell you... BAD THINGS!)

Gets along with: James gets a long with any who can put up with him and who can appreciate his sense of humor. Boring people are... well... just that. Boring. James can't handle boring. He much prefers fun and spontaneous to the constantly neutral personalities that many people carry. He doesn't like being scolded much, so James usually gets along better with those who can join in on his fun rather than discourage him from having any.

Overall Personality: The most blatant personality trait of James is just that: there’s no way you could miss him in a crowd. He is a completely unique individual, and yet he is like every other guy you’d meet: arrogant and conceited. (I prefer the terms witty and self-respecting.) He loves to brag about himself, and thoroughly enjoys any activity that might make himself look good, especially in front of a certain Lily Evans. (Please, I always look good. She’s just blinded by love.)

Even though the arrogant and conceited side of him shows quite often, (I’m telling you, witty and self-respecting!) he can also be quite the gentleman. Although he often plays pranks on others, if they ever get too far out of hand, or if he ever truly hurt someone, he isn’t too big that he won’t sincerely apologize. Once again, most of these humble apologies go to the fiery red-head who stole his heart. Usually after being made to give one of these apologies, he can be found moping in his bedroom for several days, and not even his best pals could cheer him up. This is the tragically romantic side of our dear James. (What is this, a Shakespeare play?)

James is a very loyal, brave, a cunning specimen, and thus his placement in none other than the house of Godric Gryffindor. His strong heart makes him a very loyal and devoted friend, as the fellow Marauders know quite well. It also makes him rather persistent, as Lily Evans knows quite well. He is brave, and rarely turns down a challenge, whether a friendly dare or something larger. Often, the larger challenges get him into some sort of trouble, ranging from a detention to extreme personal danger, but he never really thinks about that. Stupid git. (I resent that.)

His courage does have an upside, though. (Yay.) He is always courageous and can hold his own in any sort of conflict, although you’d best not be his opponent in said conflicts, as he can get rather nasty with his wand. (Yeah that’s right. I’m mean. Grrr.) Although he is not the studious type, he still gets rather good grades, and his best academic trait by far is his ability to pick up useful hexes and jinxes in a flash. (So watch out Snivellus.)

History: James Charlus Potter was born on March 27, 1960 to a wealthy pureblooded couple, Charlus and Anna Potter. His parents were both rather old when he was born, and thus he was brought up very pampered and spoiled. (You really like making me sound bad don’t you?) He was never expected to work hard and nearly always got anything he asked from his parents. Perhaps that was why his transition from home to Hogwarts was so difficult for him, but when he received his letter at the age of eleven, he made the transition nevertheless.

First year, he met the three boys who would be his best friends for the rest of his school life: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. These boys would call themselves the Marauders, and James grew to love them like brothers. He also met the love of his life, Lily Evans, and declared that he would marry her from the moment he saw her. She, sadly, did not show the same affection for him, but being the persistent and spoiled child he was, he knew not to give up on her.

He made it all the way to fifth year without too much trouble, earning good grades and receiving many expensive gifts from home, such as a new broomstick in third year. Although his fifth year will prove to be his most difficult to date, he is never one to back down from a challenge. (Bring it.)
