What is the WLC Banner Contest?
In this competition, you will... make WLC's banner!

Uhh... no duh. It's called a banner contest, moron.
No one asked you, bucko!

Anyhow... when will this begin and end?
It begins now, and it will end... hmm... at the last minute of Thursday, July 12. GET MOVIN FOLKS!

Who can participate?
Anyone and everyone!

How can the banner be made?
Either digitally (with PS, or GIMP, or MS Paint, etc.) OR you could draw it out and color it and scan it and stuff. As long as it's a banner, it's okay.

What are the restrictions
1) It must have a width of 905px. No more, no less.
2) It must have "White Lightning Clan" somewhere on it.
3) It must match the skin -- to some extent.
4) It must include, in some manner, the major gaming elements of our clan.

How will the winner be decided?
We'll have a poll, and the members will pick whose banner is the best one.

What's in it for me?
1) Your banner will be the WLC banner, and it will head WLC 'til we have a new one.
2) FREE custom name color.
3) 1000 volts!

Aren't the questions supposed to be answered with a decently lengthy response? It looks rather unprofessional and poorly planned otherwise.

Anyhow, yeah. Note that a slogan is a good addition. I'd also like to add that characters that represent our divisions would be a good idea; however, it's the artist's job to balance the amount of stocks in the banner.

However, most of this, aside from the four stated restrictions, is up to you. GO DO SOME ART STUFF!

Animations in banner = Not good idea.

It'll be a pain to load it every time we refresh the page for people with crap internet

Anyways, it's a good banner, but there's some stuff that are lacking like representation with other clan games and the renders for Mario and Samus are pretty bad.

it's ok but i don't like the background and it doesn't include all of the major elements of our clan

it seems very thick to me. background's alright i guess, but it doesn't really suit as well as i'd like it to. i don't know if you just added a white outline to mario or if the render's just bad but it looks too uneven. it work with the pokemon though.

halo render's nice. the font i don't like, very boring.

favourite bit is definitely MC in there though.

also: why in the HELL did you save it as a .jpg? .jpgs are solely for photos with massive resolutions as unless properly tended to lower the quality of the piece of work to reduce the amount of space it takes up. NEVER save a sig as a .jpg.

and rohan, i believe pit is spelt with only 1 t >_>

ugh >_>...there are usually 4 types you should be using.

.xcf : the unique GIMP filetype. saves your sig with the layers still intact, so the next time you open it it will be the same (so if you have like 6 layers, you can keep them that way without saving it as a .gif).

.psd: the same as an xcf, but works in gimp and photoshop, so probably the better choice.

.gif : for animated sigs. don't use it unless your sig is animated as it lowers quality.

.png : the filetype used for all final works. if your work is finished save as a psd then as a png. no deductions in sprite quality.

also, i found the xcf of the file. now i can cut it down to size and rebalance the renders (i know i should take out the CS people but they look so cool with that colour ;_;)

I like Arc's too. The only problem is that I don't see any representation from JUS (not too important), and the pokemon, one of our bigger games, is almost hard to see. At first, I didn't even know if there was a pokemon there until I looked at it closely.

Heres my idea replace Ray with any Jus person Replace counterstrike with a pokemon and replace Ro dude with a mana guy

also, yeah, i know i should replace the CS guy but it blends soo well...

nitro, i'd make it green, but it appears everyone hates the acid tech skin.

if so, yes, i will recolour the background and put the renders back in.

so let me just get some confirmation here. remove CRA guy (should i?), replace with JUS guy (who? there are so many. ichigo? naruto? who?), add in another pokemon (i have a nice arcanine pic, i might use that) and add in a mana guy? the problem is there are absolutely no good mana renders. like, i mean absolutely no good ones. the only ones i have jean rendered and i don't think either will fit.

Anyways, there is a mascot for JUS (some Pirate guy). I'll try to find a render of it. If we can't find it, then I guess the JUS clan will choose their own representitive for JUS.

ok, since i accidentally replaced the xcf with a flattened image, that's all you're getting for now. i'd have to re-cut the original big image and replace the characters and re do the border and that would depress me right now. so that's what you get for now

Sorry Kim, but I couldn't include yours. It had to be 905px wide. Yours was 799. If you'd like to lengthen it with a border or enlarge it somehow, then I could include it in a new poll.

Well, I like color since Arc's does seem kinda plain and somewhat boring. I'm not a big fan of one basic color sig/banner.

Since the other two aren't anywhere near good in terms of quality mostly due to just their inexperience compared to the others, I'm going to vote for Arc. If Kim was in there, I'd probably vote for his since it seems unique.
