Pride. Pride was a sin, one of the seven deadly sins to be more specific, though she was going to hell so what did she care? Citrine gaze steadily made it's way over eight small scrapping forms. Snarls, yips and irritated growls sounded, each unique to a highly volatile ball of fur. Stretching out along a patch of long grass the tired, proud mother rested her head down on large paws which were not her own. The owner of said paws kept an icy gaze on his offspring, head only dipping to bump his chin between the sharp, pointed ears of his female. Love was not a factor here; this was survival. She mothered his pups and was Clan leader. Playing nice when she demanded it was part of the gig, part of the reason he kept his position as 'alpha male' and wasn't shoved away by Tafari who near rivalled him in size.

Closing her eyes Akachi took a short nap in the afternoon sun as she waited for the arrival of her bond. Having sent for her only moments ago it would take the elf-cat woman a short while to get here with that witch-monkey. This litter would not be like those of her mother, those of her rank or species. These pups would be magical. A demand would be made. She wanted her pups to be the best of any litter before. Increased strength, speed and agility, but not only that! She wanted them to spit fire, walk on water and fly. Oh yes, the most dangerous and threatening of all her species. She would have it. They would be amazing. They would make history.

--

The most high pitched, terrible scream rocked through the jungle. Rage dripped from the call. How dare she? How dare she double cross her!? Other calls sounded, a shrieking from the treetops as Sibyl hung out of reach. Taunting and cackling at the enraged Imara far below. She wanted unique pups? Oh, she got them.

Nova had been setting up the clearing when it had happened. She placed out water bowls and was scooping up the pups and placing collars on them before dropping each in a tub of paint. The little mongrels loved to get dirty and Akachi wanted there to be no biases when those hopefuls appeared. What better way to cover both bases? Paint would keep from rank guessing, and it was also something sloppy to fight and roll in. Needless to say, in the act of collaring and catching the little gits the woman was bitten and scratched plenty of times. Fisi pups were not the most well behaved after all. Cussing and grumbling under her breath as she scruffed one and strapped a violet collar on him while he snarled and kicked. Dropping him into a bucket of similarly coloured pain she hissed back at him as he splashed her.

That's when it happened.

A howl of shock and fear went up from a blue female. A screaming shriek from a red female as she crumpled to the ground after drinking from a bowl. The lazing Imara was up in a second and lunging for a robed Topkey who had been waving her paws and pouring things into the water bowls a few moments earlier. Mocking calls were sent down from the treetops where the Sukey perched now as both Akachi and Shenzi circled the tree trunk. After a few seconds Sybil had disappeared, taunting was only fun for so long y'know. The Clan was in a state of chaos. Pups screaming in pain, shock and fear as the effects of whatever potion Sybil had slipped into their water began to take effect. One was blinded, one lost her voice, one deafened though not all symptoms were apparent. One plagued with arthritis, another with allergies and a third with fits of dizziness. Whatever Akachi had been wishing for when it came to change with her litter, this was not it. Instead of being blessed with superpowers they became flawed and damaged.

With no time to postpone, the arrivals would begin to appear soon and so all that could be done was attempt to organize and calm. Each of the other eight adult Clan members began to work with a pup, calm them and distract from their discomfort. The ninth was Akachi who stood fuming near the single clearing entrance, head down, ears back and fangs bared. She was not pleased, not cuddly and was incredibly dangerous. The slightest wrong move would result in teeth around the closest body part. Even look at her pups the wrong way and she'd have you by the throat. They were perfect, they were flawless so you should stfu now and move along-Oh, but not before bowing down before her, because she was the queen here and you'd better not forget it.

Standing a little ways away Cassanova looked out over the pups who were beginning to calm slightly with the presence of the adult Clan members. Covered in paint, she felt like a canvas and would no doubt be cleaning paint out of her fur for days to come. For now she turned her eyes to Akachi and kept them there. This was the Imara's show and the elf-kitty would not step in unless death was immanent, even she played by the queen's rules as often as possible. People knew what they were walking into as the drums beat out a message:

Claws and teeth. Beware. Special Fisi pups. Don't want to miss. Come prepared.

The King's Crown Male
Appearance: Large, byzantium and fandango points, lavender guard hairs (impression of snow).
Personality: Impressive as a pup. No concern for others and very superior. Not cruel for the sake, will lead his Clan justly; iron fist. There are moments in this male's life where dizziness and severe migranes will hit out of no where, and though he may seem weakened by them don't be fooled. He is still the leader of his Clan despite this new twist. He will endure and remain on top, proving to all that Akachi's pups are still the best of the best.

I See All Male
Appearance: Splattered in indigo equally, with no markings. Small and long limbed. Long face with pointed muzzle. Both eyes have gone from a deep chocolate to an eerie white since drinking from his bowl. Adjusting is a little more difficult for this male than the others though he is learning from his sister how to feel the vibrations in the ground and to use his ears for guidance.
Personality: Nervous and with low self-esteem. Mentally scattered though has moments of clarity where intensely intelligent ideas come to mind. Forever faithful.

Owner of A Jealous Heart Male
Appearance: Beefy, even for a pup. Thick fat padding makes him look roly-poly. A base coat of mint coloured paint gives him a pale appearance, though is striped in a brindle sort of pattern with dartmouth and hunter green. A cardiac shunt has developed between this male's aorta and pulmonary trunk resulting in Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA). This will stunt his growth a small bit though is nothing major.
Personality: Intensely jealous of his brother’s position as head of this puppy-Clan and all those who have something he does not. He will play indifferent then flicker to violence within seconds. Nonetheless he does what he can for those in his home group and is rather affectionate to those close to him. Due to the PDA, this fellow can not run long distances without tiring though it doesn't really slow him down as it should. This minor rut in the road will not stop him from being all he can be and proving he can lead the Clan even better than his brother.

No Voice to Speak Female
Appearance: Stocky and intimidating, this female is built much like a pitbull. With a base coat of dark prussian blue she is covered in small flecks of a pale alice blue in tribute to the dalmatian.
Personality: Polar opposite in comparison to her twin. This little lady is untrustworthy, cold and only out for herself. Once the loudest and most vocal of all the pups, this volatile female now has no voice. To make up for it she has turned to snapping her jaws together to frighten off those who have stepped over the line. Body language is big with her, if you don't show some respect, she'll rip you a new one.

Hear No Evil Female
Appearance: Slender form, not well muscled. She has a long muzzle with pointed ears. Base coat is a pale Cambridge blue with Dalmatian spotting of a much darker federal.
Personality: Loyal and faithful to a tee. This female will do everything within her power to provide for her Clan and, maybe eventually, her bond. Seeming to adapt quickly to the effects of the potion in the bowl, this female functions just as well as any other without her hearing. She relies on reading body language and the vibrations under her paws to tell her what's going on.

Violent Ray of Sunshine Male
Appearance: A rich sunglow yellow coats the thick fur of this fellow's bulky body. A burning dappling of lemon takes over his chest fluff and around his ankles- Yeah, he's easy to see.
Personality: Confident and alert, this male is the perfect group guard though does not play very well with the more dominant males or females of the Clan. Something in that bowl has made this male prone to seizure activity when his blood glucose drops too low. Good luck trying to monitor him. He doesn't let anyone get too close though gives ample warning signs if you know what your looking for, as he seems to zone out and stare blankly a good minute or two before an episode.

In My Pants Male
Appearance: Well muscled and with a trimmed coat that's just a bit too "fashionista" this lad is bathed in a deep sunburnt orange with mo markings to speak of.
Personality: Being entirely confused when it comes to his sexual orientation due to some hormonal changes, this male tries his best to hide it by playing the ladies man wink.gif Social and flirtatious with the ladies, he is incredibly destructive and violent with males of any species.

Spine Chilling Fear Female
Appearance: Average sized, there's nothing too astounding about the stature of this little menace. The colour of passion coats her from the tip of her scarred nose to her docked tail. A base of rust is layered and mottled in merle splashes of chestnut and scarlet. After drinking from the bowl, pain began to erupt from both hip joints and now is immensely difficult to deal with, but she's coping and still got all the fight in the world. Only the slightest limp every couple of steps gives her away. She'll give you a head start: One, two- JustkiddingRAWR!
Personality: Fearfully aggressive when alone or singled out, this female will lash out unexpectedly. When on your side she is courageous and a force to be reckoned with.

You didn’t have to say ‘Fisi’ more than once to get Chet’s attention. While his own pack of Fisi was more than a handful, he couldn’t deny his affection for them. Talyc and Balac were certainly the most tame of the lot, but even they couldn’t be considered safe. Talyc would bite you as soon as look at you and Balac was downright conniving as Erevu went. They tended towards pairing up and wreaking havoc in a symbiotic manner. Whereas the current leader of the pack, Kebiin, strutted around and put his nose where it didn’t belong. He wouldn’t have been so bad if it weren’t for Edee, of course. Her constant denial of his superior rank made for a lot of fights, and the Terrifying Tracker was not even close to being sane enough to reason with.

Perhaps it was best that it was only Edee that accompanied him on this journey, then. With the son of Vendetta left behind to rule over the other two, the troublesome Jino accompanied her bonded to the location of the pups. He did not trust her off of her chain today, the metal-laced leather thick around her neck, the chain leading to the belt of the Horansi that moved alongside her. She was displeased by this, but he had food and so she followed him, given the occasional slip of hearty meat. The rest of it was in his pack, slung on the side of his body opposite the Jino.

The clearing was coming up fast, and it seemed no one else had arrived as of yet from what Chet could see, only the bondholder and a pack of Fisi. And the peculiar smell of paint on the air…? Deciding he would find out sooner rather than later if he hurried, he stepped towards the mother who looked downright rankled. Edee growled at the sight of the Queen, but a swift side-kick from Chet’s foot had her silenced, her blue eyes burning.

If there was something wrong with the pups, Chet either did not notice, nor did he care as he had eyes only for the mother at the moment. Dipping low, he bowed to her, a rumbling growl of greeting on his tongue. He knew better than to cross her, and while Edee might have loved to defy her, the Jino was kept purposefully a pace back on her leash.

He would impress this Imara, and impress her brood, and he would prove to everyone here that he could handle a dozen Fisi if he could simply get his paws on them. Having Edee on his side would surely only improve his odds of survival should the world decide to turn on him.

But seriously, momma, the Mandalorian wants to take all your babies home and love them. No need to worry about judgment from this one.

((Excite!!))

Meliai

As the days got longer and warmer, Melia spent less and less time at home and more enjoying the sun. Much of it was spent merely napping or exploring, but today she was exploring her more artistic side. Various hand carved wooden bowls were scattered around her as she sat cross legged by a small creek. The morning had been spent collecting berries, roots, leaves and flowers, anything of vibrant color. Mixed with a bit of water and mud they were easily painted on and adhered to the skin as it dried.

Dipping her fingertips she swirled the makeshift paint across her skin. Rich ochres and deep russests lay beside sapphires and violets. Motifs of flowers, feathers and any other little thing that popped into the dryads head ended up on her skin. She even managed to smear some across her face using her reflection in a softly swirling pool. Even her metal arm was not spared. She giggled at herself, free in just this moment from all responsibility. The rest of the world might as well not exist.

But the drums were to sound in the jungle, pulling her back to reality. Without even listening to what they had to say she scurried off into the forest, her body bare except for the paint upon it. The little clearing held no evidence of her presence besides scattered bowls. Her light form and oneness with the forest did not even seem to disturb the soil or forest around her as she hurried away.

She came upon the clearing quite suddenly. Her entrance was ungraceful and abrupt, as was the change of expression on her face. The pleasant smile was replaced by surprise and then mixed with fear. These were fisi... and the full grown ones did not look happy. Shocked eyes drank in the scene, trying to make sense of it, but she could not. They were all smeared with various colors of paint, and bowls were spread out on the ground too. It resembled all too well the activities she had just been so caught up in. Except this sort of thing was much more likely to end in violence and pain.

Meliai didn't know whether to tough it out or run. If they hadn't noticed her she might be able to get away. But that wasn't likely. If they had noticed her, well... she had a greater chance of ending up with a non fatal mauling if she was around others from the weyrd. Her face was white beneath her own paint as she took another few, hesitant paces. No one here might see it, but for her it was a bold few steps.

Meliai turned to Akachi, a lump in her throat. While she couldn't imagine anyone who would think a tiny, naked dryad could do any harm, she wanted to show she meant none. Palms outward in a gesture to show her innocent intentions, she bowed to the Imara, loathing to take her eyes off of the clan. But she managed the submissive gesture, although a little shaky, and turned back to the puzzling scene.

Dwelling on her misfortune of not having a companion with her, preferably of the dragon variety, she heard a sharp cry ring out somewhere from the canopy above. It was no comfort to her. Her sole requiae had decided to join her for two reasons. One, this was a fisi bonding and there was sure to be plenty of tasty chaos. Second, she had been away all day and neglecting her duties. Meliai only got away with minor scratches because she kept up with his rigid cleaning rituals. Today he had been forced to go out looking for her because he could not bear to even sit on his perch. And he was not happy about having to sit on a dirty branch. Once again he voiced his displeasure.

However, he knew of no other that would give him what he wanted. While it was not affection that drove his next action, looking after his bonded was in his best interest. The sooner she bonded to one of these ugly mutts, the sooner she could be home and tending to him. A good sized, arboreal mammal fell to the ground, blood seeping out into the dirt. Meliai cringed again. The phantom was right, though. If she was to impress any of these pups she was going to need to be able to feed them.

Niiiiice puppy, come get your dinner.

((naked fisi bonding is totally a thing, right?))

It was a wonder that Geoffrey's Fisi had not murdered each other.

Not because they were violent, feral animals; although they were that; and not because they were impossible to inflict authority or punishment on; because Geoffrey did a fairly good job of establishing himself as the substitute ice blue-eyed Heshima of his household.

It was a wonder because between the oral fixation mental Damu Kaldaunen and the bite-me-up-Scotty Njaa Twist, they had paired up into one of the most demented partnerships Geoffrey had ever seen. Kaldunen got something to sink his teeth into, and Twist got the satisfaction of having himself chewed up, and Geoffrey suspected it was only because they would both lose a mutually beneficial arrangement that the Damu had never managed to eat Twist alive.

In fact it was these two he was busy prying apart in order to attempt to feed the Njaa — as happened with all three of his Njaa, from time to time they were in danger starving a little too much, and a little human interference was necessary — when he heard the drums. Geoffrey snorted at the first four words. If anybody out there was more claws and teeth than Kaldunen, they'd have to prove it.

Tempting though it was to bring the pair of them, especially since leaving one or the other alone without their other half, as it were, meant he was almost guaranteed to come back to damage to somebody, something, or both, after making himself indebted to Elizabeth he managed to convince the Erevu it would be in her interest to keep the chewy Njaa alive. Bringing both seemed... unwise around other Fisi. Kaldaunen was protective of his chew toy. With a pickax in his belt and a metal choke chain around Kaldaunen (the only one he tended to chain any more, Kaiser being thoroughly broken to his command and the rest being about as reliable as a Fisi could ever be, and besides which chewed the chains off) Geoffrey set off, the slavering Damu staying more or less heeled within a couple paces of him.

Neither Geoffrey nor his Fisi had any interest in greeting Cassanova, the one because he didn't greet people in general and thought she was a bit crazy, and the other because he locked sight on Ms. Queen there. Crazed though he was, the Damu still had Fisi instincts, and he liked to be the one chewing, not being chewed on, and as a result Kaldaunen tugged Geoffrey forward on his leash to offer a dropped head and lowered body stance to Akachi in animal subservience.

The cyborg himself did not immediately bow or acknowledge her besides a glance, busy studying the Fisi pups with a perceptive gaze. No amount of paint could cover up some of their problems. A twisted half smile had appeared on his face by the time he turned back to Akachi as well with the slightest, stiffest of what could be considered bows. Look at them wrong? No, he just wants to look at them period. Under some fluorescent lights. Up close and personal. Wrong, no no no, Geoffrey looked at them with greed. Don't worry about your babies being not being desirable enough here.

There were a few others, unsurprisingly, who had answered the drums. Da'chetre he ignored totally, outside of a sharp yank on Kaldaunen's chain as the Damu eyed Edee warily, possibly hungrily, but Meliai... Stood out, to say the least. Although he refrained from commenting on the obvious 'What the f-ck are you doing here naked and covered in paint with no guardshiny' question Geoffrey watched her distractedly with some concern, including a glance upward for the source as a small sacrifice fell from the air. As if this wasn't a tense or tedious enough situation already, the dryad had to find a way to make it downright nerve-wracking. Whee.

A shudder ran down T’Rae’s spine with the first of the message, the Vulcan did not like Fisi. She made certain exceptions, Va’num was tolerable enough, being antagonistic in more of an observational manner than she had ever really been known to try and attack T’Rae, and Geoffrey’s Fisi at least knew that they weren’t allowed to eat her.

This pack fell into neither of those categories. This particular pack was the reason that T’Rae had a problem with Fisi to begin with. As the noise of the drums faded T’Rae shook her memories of the Imara and her pack out of her mind and went back to her original goal of making it out to the barn to check on the Hippogryphs, along with making sure that Glozho hadn’t managed to break anything in his little back office. Not that he really had a history, other than being a stickler for technicalities, but she wasn’t going to take any chances. It was better to just keep an eye on him before he managed to get his beak into something that he really shouldn’t have.

Of course per usual as soon as she had come to a decision it was going to be almost immediately revoked. Unfortunately for T’Rae it was going to be revoked by one of the shinies that she had the hardest time saying no to. You’re afraid. The Matriarch observed like a mother disappointed in her child, sitting by the barn door as T’Rae approached. The Vulcan didn’t question where she had gotten this information; the Kos was surprisingly observational in all of the most frustrating ways. T’Rae shrugged her response, “I don’t like Fisi.” Though she didn’t add that it was for the same reason that she didn’t really like Kosaire to begin with; too much like Sehlats and twice as vicious when you didn’t feed them.

That’s stupid. We’re going, go get ready. Leaving T’Rae very little room to argue with this ruling considering she was quite quickly on her feet and herding the woman back towards the house. “No. Not this time.” She had been bullied into the last Fisi bonding by her deathly pair, she certainly wasn’t going to face this pack just because someone else thought she should. You’re going to get over it. Can’t be afraid of them your whole life. She ruled, giving the woman a good hard shove up the ramp, and blocking any escape unless she wanted to go for a swim. With more than a little grumbling and quite a few coarse words for the Matriarch T’Rae made her way upstairs to change, though she had taken to wearing her robes around the house more she was not interested in having them shredded again. Her standard fare obtained, with the added machete for good luck, she set out with the Matriarch and a cold chill in her spine about facing them again.

While she had not expected to be the only one arriving it was pleasant to see that those who were present were at least the kind of people that T’Rae liked, that bolstered her a little bit. Da’chetre she could live without, but Geoffrey and Meliai were a good sight. Perhaps her fear would not seem so much in comparison. The Vulcan kept her distance from Akachi, very carefully putting Geoffrey between herself and the Imara, though she offered the female the peaceful gesture of her palms it would snow in the Forge before she got as close as anyone else had. It was quite obvious that too much of her attention was on the older Fisi to notice that there might be anything wrong with the pups.

Ceelesh stayed back, just at the edge of the trees, watching with interest though quite clearly having no interest in participating herself. The point of her presence being mostly to keep T’Rae from bolting, as well as to keep one party from harming the other, whether the pups to her bond or her bond jumping the gun and harming the pups, which ever ended up coming first.

Altair

He wasn't budging. You couldn't make him.

Altair sat in his living room area, huddled up on his couch and glaring daggers at any of his shinies that tried to come near him. Sure, he was back to being what he'd been before, but they really expected him to be out and socializing so soon after his...proceedure. No thanks. It wouldn't do any harm for you to go, you know. The glare was now leveled heavily on the Nogard-Dragon-thing that was settled on the back of the couch, and curled his lip slightly at the bright look the Lake was giving him. "It wouldn't do me any harm? You seem to have missed a vital word in that entire bonding message - Fisi. Those things are teeth with legs. No thank you." He rolled over to present the male with his back and curled up a bit more, giving a low hiss when the Chinese Water Dragon crawled off the couch to perch on his hip. Hera and Sedna don't hurt you. He replied, curling up and resting his head on the man's side as he peered at him.

The shapeshifter lifted his head a bit and gave the shiny a half-lidded look, clenching his jaw as he tried to find a way to tell the male 'no' without being harrassed more. "Karim doesn't need any more of them in his Clan. He has enough trying to keep Xilar and Loz apart." True, but one more couldn't hurt. I'm sure you'll run into friends there. Realizing that the Lake wasn't going to drop the issue, he sighed, rubbing his face and sitting up; Cojiro flopped onto the cushion and blinked at the man, tilting his head a bit. "Fine, but I'm taking someone with me." The Nogard nodded and beamed, flicking his long tail and nestling closer to the man. I don't mind that. And be sure to bring food for the pups as well.

~Later~

When he'd said he was bringing someone with him, he hadn't intended it to be someone who would make him worry the entire time. Altair's eyes refused to meet the seering crimson gaze of the shiny who was padding along next to him, and kept side-stepping so he wouldn't walk too close to her. Oh, come now, Love. Why are you treating me like the plague? He didn't normally avoid the Creeper as much as he was, but he was more than a little on edge at the moment. "Fisi bonding, Akeldama. Blood and gore all but promised... Why else do you think I'm keeping my distance from you?" He replied almost cooly, finally turning to peer at her. In one hand he carried a bag of some sort of meat, and over his shoulder was a backpack with all his bonding kit inside; a small medical kit was involved as well. You don't trust me. She pouted at this, actually slowing down and faintly flicking her ears back. "I'm going to refrain from answering that question at the moment. We're here, be respectful." When she turned her gaze to him and quirked a brow, he sighed. "Please."

A look was given to those already there and he even managed a small smile for them. All people he recognized, and one who he would be inherantly grateful to for the rest of his existence. Instead of going to greet them, he turned to the Imara snarling with the others and bowed low to her, bristling a bit at having to expose the back of his neck. When he was sure it'd been a respectable amount of time, he lifted his gaze and backed away, studying the pups with faint curiosity. A slight wave was given to Cassanova before he moved away, closer towards the other humanoids. Seeing Meliai there and knowing she wasn't much of a fighter and she didn't really look like she'd do well if the pups decided to maul everyone. Da'chetre was given a small smile before he decided to just stand there and wait. The Creeper, on the other hand, began to pace back and forth behind her bond, waiting for the chance to instigate something. Anything.

((OOC: This is epic. 83 Ah. If you're wondering why he's Raven!tair again (or something along those lines), it's due to an IC thread with Geoffreykins that I still need to type up and will get to later tonight if my net stops being an ass. ;>> ))

Fisi pups? Claws and teeth? Come prepared?

You didn't have to tell Maeko twice.

The vampire stopped everything she was doing to head on over, happily humming a tune. Pups were music to her ears, especially if they were pups from the one she was thinking of. She wouldn't dare take Vendeta or the Clan, however. While the white queen had done well in the past, it wouldn't do for her to go about ruining her daughter's show, would it?

Because inevitably, she would.

So alone and unafraid she went to see Cassanova and Akachi in the clearing. This was after all, the same woman who was cutting off pieces of her own flesh to feed hungry Fisi before. If they wanted to get down and dirty, she would willing oblige. And that perhaps was why she was wearing old clothes today. Clothes that most people would think were brand new, but hey, they didn't have her money and free ideas on spending.

As soon as she spotted the Imara and Cass, however, she beamed. "Oh, look at you! Aren't you just beautiful!" There was something about dangerous babies that always made her coo, Requiae and Fisi in particular. But her praise was reserved to the mother first. "Vendeta would be so proud!" Sh exclaimed with a little bow, looking at the queen she'd raised as a pup as if to say Please, can I give you a nice scratch behind the ear? Or a friendly hand chomp would be okay. It was Vendeta's offspring, and an appropriate Fisi response, wasn't it? It wouldn't bee too surprising if she was hoping to get bitten. Proud momma-raised-you-right moment and all.

She waved a hand to the paint covered bonder of the queen and turned her attentions on the pups. Given some prep time, she'd brought a fine sample of meats to try out with the pups. She'd been getting creative again with feeding times ever since her Requiae dinner party went so well. She didn't move closer to everyone else, preferring to stand alone. It was probably nicer that way for all involved. Because like Akachi, she was firmly of the opinion that you should die if you tried to take a swipe at an attacking pup. It was instinct to clamp down on your arm and tear you to shreds. Maeko understood them.

She was so excited, trying to catch glimpses of pups and pick out her favorites as she waited for a happy greeting with Pedigreed Princess herself.

The drums had pierced through his ears as he was hunched over a book in his library. The Time Lord was sitting on the floor surrounded by half a dozen book stakes. He hadn't meant to get so wrapped up in his research but he came in here for one bit of information and that was over three hours ago. The companions that had kept him company left ago because they had grown bored with just watching him read and take notes whenever something sparked his interest. One notebook was already full and he was half way through another when he heard.

Claws and teeth. Beware. Special Fisi pups. Don't want to miss. Come prepared.

The Professor lifted his head slowly, gnawing on his lip with his brow raised. Fisi? He had just read something about them, but he had yet to actually see one. This would be a perfect opportunity for him to get even more insight. Not even bothering to put the books away the man stood, leaving the one that was already open, open, he would come back and finish later. He left the room with a once over of himself and a huff. He was covered in pen smudges and his legs pricked painfully from standing up to quickly after his legs had fallen asleep. Once out of the Library he weaved his way through the hallways and toward the kitchen. He needed meat, if his reading had told him anything it was that he would be attacked if he didn't bring enough meat. There was no reason for him to loose a limb or something because he had foolishly not brought enough.

The fridge was flung open and he rummaged around for a few seconds before pulling open the meat drawer and taking about 3 large butcher paper wrapped stacks of meat. That should be enough. But even as the Time Lord had that thought , he hoped more than anything that he kept all of his limbs. Especially when the message said what it had said. With a back on his back full of meat and such he set off for the clearing.

--

The clearing had snuck up on him, it seemed that he had barely been walking before he was there and with a pause he realized that others were already there, this must mean that he was running late. He grumbled and shook his head, he hated being late, but at least he was here. He approached with caution and once he was flush with the entrance he turned to the Imara, he recognized the power that radiated off her and out of more than respect he not only bowed his head but his body. She seemed to command the respect and he refused to be the one mauled because he didn't show it to her. No other words were given, mainly because the Queen didn't seem to want the words if her expression was anything to go by.

Once he had bowed he straightened, keeping his eyes down from her though, and moved on into the clearing with the others. His eyes found Nova and he gave her a smile and a small wave before falling into ranks with everyone else. He managed to wedge himself somewhere in the middle, not to far away from the Imara or the pups, but closer to the humanoids present. The Professor took in the scene of the paint covered pups with an interested/amused glint in his eyes and tried his damnedest to try and get a grip on exactly which pup with which and why each was so special, it was not clear right now, but he was sure with time it would be.

As the drums beat off in the distance the disgruntled mother paced back and forth along the opening of the clearing. Fangs bared a constant rumbling echoed through her vocal cords, she was not one to sit in brooding silence and with a snarl her bond's way as Nova stepped forward she let her anger be known. They'd better show up and soon, any latecomers were going to have their throats ripped out and their corpses flayed to be given to the pups as snacks.

As the first arrived he brought with him a creature which caught the attention of the large female. Attached to a chain which lead up to the cat-man the Queen saw this point of weakness and without warning lunged at the smaller female with jaws wide open. Bringing her sharp, dirtied fangs down onto the neck of little Jino, Edee didn't stand a chance. Lifting and shaking the creature who paid her no respect the Imara dropped her and leaped back a few paces with a huff and a snarl. Glaring up at Chet she flared and closed her nares together a few times. He had silenced the little wench with force, that was the sign of one who could lead. She then turned to look at Cassanova, sounding a harsh bark. Without flinching the woman nodded once and looked to the. “You are allowed to attend the pups, though I would advise you monitor you and yours carefully. Akachi will not tolerate violence toward her pups” The elf-feline spoke and though outwardly she played calm, she worried for Edee when the dominance display had taken place. Nonetheless there were others coming and Nova had to be on the lookout.

The next to arrive was a woman with her skin dyed in an array of colours. Under all of the natural paint was the dryad Meliai who froze as she stepped foot into the clearing. Nova remained still and relaxed though she mentally begged for the woman to move toward the Queen with haste, they didn't need humanoid bloodshed this early in the game and if the woman ignored the irate mother she would be in for a world of hurt. Thankfully she moved forward and gestured in a way which suggested that she meant no harm as she bowed. This was all observed by the Imara who coughed a snicker at the earthy creature. Oh, the pups would just eat her up. “You have been accepted, please join Chet over there.” Nova noted with a calm wave of her hand. Another followed though in the form of the reject Clan member Dwe the Njaa who panted and wiggled his bottom happily. He would wait with you! This would be fun! “Don't worry, he's the tamest of the bunch but if he's asked he will defend you.” The woman offered quietly before looking back to Akachi.

Geoffrey was the next to enter and he came with yet another Fisi, this one far wiser than Chet's Edee. He lowered himself immediately and Akachi circled him twice, nudging her nose against his neck, shoulder and then exposed hip before she returned to her place and examined his handler. Whether it was due to the feelings of dislike and annoyance felt though the mental link she shared with Cassanova or the fact that the cyborg did not bow immediately, the female sprang forward on powerful legs to shove her hip against his leg forcefully as she circled him. He was her bitch and he would accept that if he wanted anywhere near her pups. The half man creature did eventually bow slightly which got him a set of pinned ears and bared fangs, though she looked to Nova none the less. “Okay.” One simple word of acceptance was all he was getting.

T'Rae's entrance drew more attention than any other thus far with Kgosi, Shenzi and Masozi turning their eyes to watch the familiar meat sack walk into the clearing. She reeked of fear as she approached Akachi and adults of the Clan gave squeals and crazed guttural laughs to taunt her. She showed both palms to the Imara who eyed her closely and though T'Rae did not wish to approach or be approached, Akachi crossed the distance nonetheless. Nostrils flaring she took int he scent of the woman. The Vulcan feared them, she had every right to, though something made the Queen weary. Sounding a bark to Cassanova she pinned her ears and gave a deep snarl in warning. “T'Rae, welcome. Do watch yourself and yours. She is aware your Matriarch waits in the trees and should anything happen to her kin she wants you to know yours will not reach you fast enough.” A threat, yes, though it should be known that this came from the Imara and not her bond, Cassanova was only the relay.

The next to arrive was a good friend, this presentation he put on when he stepped into the clearing was acceptable. Recognized by her bond as a friend no doubt helped the male a good deal though it may have helped his Creeper more. As Akachi turned her snout to look at the Familiar she bared long yellowed fangs and uttered a low rumble. “Altair, you are accepted. Watch yours and advise that more respect should be given in the presence of a Queen.” The elf-kitty noted, chancing only the smallest break in her composure to offer him a smile.

Maeko arrived next in what seemed to be a new outfit, now why would she wear something like that to a bonding like this? Weary emotions spread through the mind link and Akachi's muzzle tightened and wrinkled at the woman smelling of death and fresh meat. What a strange combination... She recognized the woman's scent, saw her in her minds eye from long ago though that didn't change the here and now. There was no special treatment for anyone and as the vampire cooed at her the Queen's ears averted sideways in offence. It wasn't the words, it was the tone; Too excited and cheerful for her taste. The wish to scratch the female behind the ears would not be granted though the hand chomping was becoming more and more likely. Without a vocal warning the Imara struck like a snake, wrapping her jaws around Maeko's forearm and shaking sharply to ensure deep enough gouges before letting go. “I can't be sure of the reason for the attack because she is accepting you. Either way, welcome Maeko.” Cassanova spoke, her tone showing her slight confusion.

The last to enter was one which Akachi took an interest in, if only because of the positivity which flowed through the mind link with Nova. It seemed this man was in fact quite intelligent and wise with how he approached. He read the Imara like a book and immediately stooped low in a full body bow which did not impress the hulking female, though it was acceptable. Stepping forward nares flared as she circled him once, muzzle poking his calf and thigh before she turned and moved back to her spot. Looking to Nova she sounded a grumble of sorts and then turned her nose up at the male. She was done with you. Move along. “Professor, you have earned the privilege to interact with the Queen's kin.” Another break in her stern appearance as she gave him a short nod and smile as he acknowledged her.

Once everyone had been accepted, mauled or not, Cassanova gave them time to settle as she looked over the pups. Clearing her throat she moved forward to stand before the group of seven with Akachi following along behind her to stand on her right side. Stoic and calm the woman lifted a hand and placed it on the Imara's head, behind her ears to gently scratch the fur there. “Greetings and congratulations to all of you. You have been given the privilege to attend the most historical bonding of the Fisi species thus far. The eight pups behind me are all unique in a way and are unlike any other, special and brave.” The right ear of the large female turned back as one of hers whimpered, fur bristling she uttered a low snarl as she gazed at those attending. “Queen Akachi would like to let you know that if any of her young are harmed there will not be a soul on Planet strong or quick enough to save you.” Cassanova noted as she gently ran a hand down the large female's neck and then back up to the triangle shaped ears. “You are free to visit with whomever you want. Just keep in mind that though this will not be your typical hunt or be hunted bonding, you are in the presence of the second largest Fisi Clan on Planet and can not presume yourself safe. The adults within this Clan are set on guarding and protecting the young, though they are not tamed beasts act on their own accord.” The woman continued. With this she was letting them know that she would not control any of hers, no, this time around they were all on their own. “If you have any questions feel free to ask. Good luck and watch your fingers.”

Nova might have been a little concerned for Edee when the Imara had attacked, but Chet wasn’t. He watched her battle with a dragon almost every day. He knew what Edee could take—and dish out—and he knew she deserved the attack. While he cared very much for the Jino, he wasn’t going to coddle her. There was no denying that she was something of a monster. At the very least, Akachi shaking her around a bit might help Chet in the long run in pacifying her for this bonding. Or maybe it would just make it worse. It was hard to say and he watched carefully as the Queen finally dropped the bleeding russet-hued Fisi back to the ground.

Edee was silent, eyes cast away now as she brooded in her pain. Whether she was pacified or simply biding her time, Chet wasn’t sure, but he had control on her and trusted she would remember who fed her every day. Her silence was rewarded with a small slip of meat, encouraging her to continue on that particular path. If she was going to behave, it would be on her own terms, as always. At least her interest in the pups seemed to have her focused rather than chaotic and wild-eyed.

They were given permission to approach the pups but they didn’t go far. Meliai—recognized faintly, even through all the scent of paint—was next to arrive, the scent of fear drenching her. Chet might have been inclined to protect her until Geoffrey showed up. Edee snarled quietly at the Damu who was eyeing her and Chet snorted softly. Okay, no time for heroics, he had to watch his and Edee’s back now. T’Rae was, predictably, next and Chet felt a little more assured to have her here with Geoffrey than to have the stupid cyborg without his anchor. She was a good anchor, and while she dabbled in fear of the Fisi herself, she had been good at the last Fisi bonding they’d all attended together.

Then Altair turned up, offering a small smile which earned him a giant kitty-grin in return. Okay, this particular gathering had just gotten a little better—and was to get better still as the familiar face of the Professor turned up shortly after Maeko. Maeko seemed positively thrilled to be here—a feeling which Chet thought was more amusing than anyone else here might—and didn’t even seemed surprised when the Imara bit into her arm.

Attention roving back around to the pups, Chet listened carefully as Nova gave her announcement. Agreeing to the terms set out with ease, the Mandalorian wasted no time in moving forward. There was a bright yellow pup being attended to be a Damu and it was towards this pair that he first moved. While any of the others might have been likely candidates for his attention, this one was very… well, eye-catching.

He approached slowly, removing a handful of food from his pack at his side, Edee a step behind him, her own blue eyes cast in a darting manner at all the other pups they passed. She glowered at the adults far more than she did the pups, however, and Chet began to wonder how she’d deal with the babies. Apparently the lack of rank markers—drowned in color and the scent of the paint layer—had her both wary and hopeful.

Crouching several feet from the adult-pup pair, he first tossed some food to the adult so he could test it if he so desired. Then more was offered to the little one. “Hungry, yes? Plenty food at my house. Plenty of hunters, no need worrying about food.” Because if Chet knew one thing about Fisi—they were always hungry, and there could never be too much food to go around.

Until the Queen acknowledged them, Geoffrey and by extension Kaldaunen were not going to be paying attention to anybody else, though both were aware that the amount of people and shinies alike was increasing.

For his part, the drooling Damu was perfectly calm with being nosed around, other than the occasional twitch which had nothing to do with Akachi's judging anyway and only typical barely restrained energy of his rank. Apparently it would be in Geoffrey's favor that he was associated with such a serving Fisi, not that he cared how he got favor of the clan of long as he got it. One word was all he needed before straightening up and jerking Kaldaunen's change to come along.

Now that they were free to stop paying attention solely to the Imara, Geoffrey gave T'Rae a very curious look tinged with concern as he stepped aside to make way for her, although he said nothing out loud. She had made quite clear she had no interest in ever being around any of his own clan, nor did she have much of one herself, so seeing her here was not something he had expected. Altair arriving was also unexpected, although mostly because, learning to tolerate him or not, Geoffrey was still heavily under the impression that he was a cowardly pushover. Not the type to hang out with Fisi, generally. Needless to say, Geoffrey was also not going out of his way to offer Maeko a how do you do either. This time at least he would have the excuse of sharply tugging Kaldaunen's head around before he got too excited over watching somebody get chomped on already. On the one hand, bringing Kaldaunen meant he could keep an eye on him. On the other, bringing Kaldaunen meant he had to keep an eye on him.

Then the Professor arrived, to Geoffrey's general distaste, only notable because he seemed to be the last that was going to be coming. Geoffrey wasn't the only one to come to that conclusion either, and seek lowered at Cassanova and raised an eyebrow skeptically. Congratulations, historical, special and brave, blah blah blah, a lot of melodramatic embellishment that Geoffrey subtly grimaced at rather than rolling his eye. Hurry up and shut your trap so he could get on with the actual bonding part.

While the jaguar-man probably had different reasons for it, Geoffrey would not be the only one in a hurry to meet with the pups seems, as while he was casting another gaze around a lot of them, Da'chetre beat him to one of the pups. It wasn't enough to wrangle the cyborg, at least not right now; there were plenty of them, more than there were people, and besides which bright orange wasn't really his color.

Wrapping the end of the choke chain around his hand a few times to shorten how much free space his Damu companion could reach, Geoffrey broke off to confidently approach the much more eye-pleasing blue I See All Male and his unpainted watcher. It didn't hurt at all that said watcher was a Njaa; with half of his beasts sharing that grungy rank, Geoffrey was pretty fond of the things. While Geoffrey crouched down a few paces back to pull out some meat for the pup and Tendaji both, keenly aware of the Njaa's constant starvation no matter how much he fed his own, Kaldaunen strutted forward a little bit more boldly, cocking his head almost a right angle as his gaze drilled into the white eyes of the pup, unsure of if the strange white meant anything or not. It was different, but did that affect anything? Could the Damu see anything in those eyes like he seemed to in the bloody mess of the animals he tore the life out of?

Akachi should be grateful that Ceelesh was back in the trees, the Matriarch's presence was the only thing that stopped T'Rae from drawing the machete across the Imara's snout as soon as she was in range. The pack may have gotten the best of her once but it wasn't going to happen again, T'Rae was going to be much more observant of the lot of them this time. With a warning growl through her mind from the bear T'Rae held very still instead, letting the Imara get her scent but watching keenly for any sign of aggression. It wouldn't take much for the Vulcan to feel a need to defend herself.

Once the Imara moved on T'Rae actually turned her attention back to the pups, and it didn't take much of an examination to notice that there was something off about some of the pups. The arrival of several other people put her just a little bit at ease, mostly because it meant there were others that would distract the Fisi and hopefully diffuse the situation a little better if the need arose. That and the fact that the Imara actually bit Maeko might have been a little satisfying, if entirely because it was the vampire and not herself that had gotten bit.

When Cassanova started in with her speech T'Rae's attention had already started drifting again. Not particularly because T'Rae was being rude but mostly because she didn't want to spread her attention to thin, and between keeping the pups and the adults in sight, and keeping a good feel for where Geoffrey and Meliai both were at all times, well the woman just wasn't very high up on her radar at the moment. She did note that she was exaggerating a bit, from what T'Rae could see they weren't exactly rare disorders, though she supposed that she could be wrong for some of the slightly less obvious ones.

When the woman did actually step aside T'Rae hesitated, which should surprise no one considering she hadn't wanted to show up to begin with and was put off even further by the close presence of the pack to the pups. Watching each of them and, perhaps just a little bit, letting some of the more likely candidates to get bit go first. Yes in this particular instance she was more than okay with the idea of using Geoffrey as a meatshield.

After a moment of awkwardly shifting about T'Rae finally opened up the leather satchel, though more because Ceelesh was prodding her again rather than of any kind of her own volition, and considered the pair closest to her, which unfortunately included a rather unpleasant looking Heshima. Spending another moment pretending to shifting around in her bag for the meat, she did know better than to come unprepared after all, before deciding that she would rather stay on the outside than get herself in the middle of it, even if it meant facing the large male. It also meant having Ceelesh closer if thing went wrong. Actually pulling the stuff out and approaching them, offering the first slab out to the fully grown male and being generally too worried about how he would react to be properly put off by the meat, already reaching back into her bag for smaller pieces to offer the King's Crown Male assuming that Kgosi would allow her.

"How about a snack?" She offered quietly, the meat, not her, she was not the snack, the snack was, hopefully, to prevent them from trying to eat her.

Again.

Let's just go ahead and never do that again how's that sound Kgosi, she even brought you a peace offering this time.

“Madam,” Lucas took one look at the Queen and bowed, deeply, with one arm extended out in front and one behind. That pack of meat that he held in a ziplock was nasty, really, Lucas wasn’t a big fan of completely raw but word on the street said that Fisi liked these types of things.

But for now back it up. Even a daredevil like Lucas wouldn’t run blindly into an adventure involving hyena-like things. He had little experience with the species, he did not have a Fisi of his own and well, might as well give it a shot, no? Or at least, that’s what Mitzi said anyway, only meaner, a lot meaner. It wasn’t up the Creeper’s alley to spout kind nonsense anyway, so Lucas was ready for it. Frankly he wasn’t particularly interested in gaining another member that would be destructive and angry all the time. But one Mitzi called him a coward it was decided. He’d take on a damn Fisi, he could definitely do it.

So there he was, head down, body presented and flailed open, glancing from the corner of his eye as other candidates moved forward to interact with pups, cubs, whatever you called Fisi. The animals themselves weren’t that glorious, just about the only knowledge Lucas had about hyenas was from the Lion King, and he could barely even tell if the strange coloring (it looked like paint but he didn’t wanna insult) was even real. He didn’t really know how to approach this, but if these things were anything like the hyenas from Lion King, he was pretty sure that throwing a slab of meat would suffice.

That being said he’d been watching for a little while. It appeared that for now, he’d have to just stand there, bowed, and wait.

It was a certain relief to be accepted by the Queen, but certainly not complete in any manner. It took Meliai a great effort to not shake as she stepped farther into the clearing toward Chet. Her eye flicked up to his. Would he come to her rescue if things started to go wrong?

As a strange fisi rushed toward her, Mel's first reaction was fear. But the Njaa's demeanor was actually quite friendly, paired with the words of Nova, the dryad felt free to relax at least a little. Her own Njaa held a special place in her heart, and she trusted him fully, but this was not her bond and while she would welcome him by her side, she would be reluctant to completely ignore him. His happy behavior made her want to pet him, but she settled for reserved pat or two on the head. Nice fisi, don't eat the dryad.

On her way toward the center of the clearing she scooped up the dead thing that her Mateo had so graciously provided. Making sure to touch it only with her prosthetic, Meliai held it at arms length, swallowing the urge to gag. She had half a mind to throw it to the Njaa right away as a thank you, but that probably would not have been the smartest move. If she approached any of these pups empty handed she would be lucky to step away from this place with a mild maiming.

After listening attentively to the introduction Cassanova gave her eyes turned to each one of the pups. A few before her made their way quickly and confidently to the fisi of their choice, but Mel took a little longer to decide. Gazing down at her Njaa companion, she sighed. “Well, I guess it's better now than never...” She certainly wasn't going stand there awkwardly all evening. Besides, she imagined Lianth's face if she returned with a fisi pup. She had left with no particular plans for the day and such a bonding would certainly spur pride in her Queen dragon.

Squaring her shoulders, Meliai took a few small steps. She had bonded to the most magnificent dragon in the weyrd. She could do what she wanted...right?

A creature of habit, Meliai was immediately attracted to the greens of the Owner of a Jealous Heart pup. There didn't seem to be anything too terribly wrong with him. Perhaps this would mean he was a little more tame and a little less defensive? Her step toward him was bold, but the tremor of her hand gave away her true feelings. Still a few feet away she held out the hand with the carcass, her voice taking on a soothing tone. “I bet you're hungry. How does some fresh meat sound?”

Just then she looked up to find Lucas] entering the clearing. The entrance of her friend caused her step to falter for just a moment. Would the green pup notice? Would he care?

On first impression he seemed home free, the Imara did not seem particularly pleased with his bow but she did not attack and that was a good sign. At least that seemed like a safe bet considering his limited knowledge on said species. But that impression faltered when the female stepped forward and circled him. That was never a good sign, predators circled their prey. He kept his body loose but his eyes were on high alert, watching the Imara's every move, he saw her go for his calf and his thigh with her nose but each time he expected a bite and not a nose press. He was deeply pleased that is wasn't each time. A liberty he should not have taken, there was still time for teeth and blood. Maybe, that was why he held so patiently still during the whole procedure. When Nova spoke, the Time Lord seeked her out and on her queue moved in with the others that had arrived before he had. Finally, exhaling the breath he hadn't known he was holding.

He was mostly silent, except for his observing, his focus darting between all pups visible though it was hard to distinguish one fro the other because of the paint. The sound of what was obviously the official introduction brought his eyes back to Nova, she was standing by the Imara now. Saying the usual welcome with the added bonus of this being a historical even because of how special the pups were. What made him prickle was the obvious promise of immense pain if any of the pups were harmed by him. Not that he even had the intention to do something like that, but it was good information to keep stored in his mind for good measure. It was also good to note that safety was not guaranteed and that none of the Fisi present were tame, this was a given but hearing it out loud cemented it even deeper into his brain. He wiggled his fingers and chuckled when they were dismissed. As eager as he was before things started, he was a little apprehensive now, simply because he wasn't sure were to start. The one he was originally going to see first had been approached by Geoffrey and well the Time Lord didn't want to press his luck. The Cyborg seemed to have an odd dislike for him.

He couldn't figure out why, or what he had ever done to the man, but oh well. Some things just didn't make sense and he was accepting that slowly. Deciding that it probably didn't matter either way the Professor approached the Njaa and the pup he was paired with, cautiously of course. When he reached them he made sure to leave a significant gap between Geoffrey, his company, and himself, leaving him a little closer than need be to the pup but he was praying on the fact that his posture was as relaxed as he was feeling and not threatening. it wasn't like he was right up in their faces either, just a tiny bit closer than the other. He unintentionally followed example and crouched down, unwrapping one of the packs of meat and offering a hearty chunk to both. That wasn't because the other had done it, that was because it would have felt rude to only offer the pup some and not the other. It was almost like waving a giant meal in front of a starving man and saying he couldn't have any.

"Never too much meat...that's what I always say." The Time Lord flashed a rather lopsided smirk and placed his hands on his knees, the rest of the meat tucked back up under his arm.

Maeko had certainly provoked the reaction she wanted from the Imara, grinning delightedly as only her arm shook. The wounds healed over as quickly as they were made, and if that wasn’t unnerving, perhaps the way she hadn’t even moved was. Super abilities did have their advantages, and while she didn’t use them all the time, it was a bit creepy to think that a full grown Fisi couldn’t stir her. At least, some of her mortal shinies seemed to think that about their Fisi-wrestling bond.

“I understand.” Maeko beamed up at Cassanova, straightening up and dusting herself off. “I get this all the time. It’s how I know something’s wrong.” When they were sick or upset, they didn’t try to maul her. It was as simple as that. A good healthy Fisi would happily latch onto whatever body part dangled nearest.

And maybe she was a little crazy, too.

Maeko listened quietly to the announcement; she would never presume herself safe in a clan of Fisi, but she wasn’t particularly on edge; large numbers of the stinky, dirty beasts were of no problem to her. She was perfectly at home in Vendeta’s clan; Akachi’s was the same. She smiled at the explanation, a bit curious about the way the adults fanned out, each seeming to take to one pup in particular.

The Violent Ray of Sunshine Male had caught her eye; she was fond of his colors and the looks of his Damu companion, if nothing else. “How are you guys doing?” She asked, approaching them slowly, well aware of how quickly a Damu could turn on her. “A little meat is good, eh?” She asked, producing a couple of rolled heardbeast livers in her hands. One for each of the males should at least earn her some interest, she hoped!

OoC: Cassanova's bonding is extended to May 14th if she doesn't post for Fisi tonight! C: She asked to use it if she has to. I'm just letting you all know!

[ooc;] Hey guys! This post will be finished by tonight, so hang with me for a while. I'll have it go I-post-you-post because of the deadline the bonding has so maybe at least some interaction can happen. I will update the descs in this post, once they bond, for hers are (as you can see) incomplete. Thank you <3 Sorry guys, meant to get this up last night but the internet crashed!

Da'chetre, Maeko
The Violent Ray of Sunshine male was aware of Chet's approach almost immediately. Whether it was the smell (his nose was already accustomed to the paint smell, you see) of the feline, the sounds of his approaching footsteps, or even the tension exuding from the Mandalorian's Fisi friend would remain unknown. He had his eyes locked onto the pair once it was clear where their destination was, and the Damu with him bared yellowed teeth in warning. Well, really, the adult was more concerned with Edee, but that was besides the point.

Sunshine had a stare-down with Chet as soon as he began to speak. Dakarai had now stood up on all fours and had taken a step towards the Whazzitian, but thankfully, Da'chetre thought ahead and a piece of meat was now at his paws on the ground. Of course, the original thinking was that the adult would like to try the meat to make sure it was okay, but the Damu thought of it as a peace offering, or even a bribe, and he didn't hesitate to snap it up. Meanwhile, the Sunshine male was eyeing Da'chetre himself, then the meat- and very slowly he lowered himself down to take the food while listening to the feline.

BUT THEN...! Another woman approached. Both males looked up at stared at her, while the Sunshine male was startlingly calm, his Damu partner was baring his teeth again. Even more so when two large pieces of liver were suddenly in her grasp, and were remaining there. The adult stepped forward two or three steps and snarled at her. Pay tribute, strange woman! D< The Sunshine male was just curious, his head tilted and staring at her unblinkingly. She smelled weird. But she had meat, so she couldn't be that bad.

Geoffrey
Another pair was approached, and the two males that were being approached looked... mildly confused. Both adult and pup heard the clanging of the chain that the Whazzitian had around his own Fisi, a concept which both of them...disliked, to say the least. The pup cowered a little at the Cyborg's approach, while the Njaa was eyeing the Damu. Of course, that only lasted until meat was drawn out. Then the adult's jaw was hanging open slightly, his eyes trained on A-13's hand that held the meat, taking a few slow, cautious steps forward. Meanwhile, the pup was completely disregarding this treat in favor of Keldaunen, whom was staring straight at him. Into his eyes, even. It was making him nervous. What the f-ck do you want?! D:

And this only intensified when yet another showed up to see them. This one was closer to the pup, and forced him to dart his white eyes in between the two. While the unknown Fisi was just staring at him, this strange man was laying down food for him. His offer to Tendaji went unnoticed, for the Njaa was now creeping ever closer to the Cyborg until he was close enough to snatch a piece of meat from him. The pup wanted the food that the Professor was offering but... Keldaunen ;_; He made a pitiful yip. He was afraid if he moved he'd get himself launched at. Meeeh!

T'Rae
The two large males that were approached next were...amused, actually. This little tiny female two-legger was approaching with about as much nerves as a hunted Aluna. Kgosi's ears pulled back and a low, drawn out snarl was offered to the Vulcan. He wasn't actually angry (yet?), but he liked to see her squirm. It was entertaining to him. Meanwhile the pup at his side wasn't really doing anything, he was just watching her every movement while she approached. It seemed she was one of the few that didn't have another creature with her, not that the Heshima was complaining. One less body to tear through should T'Rae do something unfavorable.

Though she was doing something smart for herself once she was close enough. At first, Kgosi was no pleased to see her hand pull out of his line of sight. But then a large chunk of meat was granted with the return of her hand, and the Fisi couldn't complain all that much. Kgosi didn't waste any time in snatching up his share of the food, snapping his teeth in the girl's direction before he grabbed the meat and took it back to his guard-post to gnaw on. Meanwhile, the pup loweres his head and stalked over to the smaller portions of meat she offered to him. Baring his teeth in silent warning, he actually remained right in front of T'Rae while he gobbled up the food. See, he wasn't afraid of you, human. And when he was done? His muzzle lifted and a heavy glare was settled upon the Vulcan. He knew there was more in there. Fork it over.

Meliai
Meliai's approach was warranted with an odd, strained snarl from Naraji, though upon closer inspection the Dryad would find that it was not aimed at her. Instead, it was aimed for the pup, whom had been eyeing his brother (the one with the Heshima) with hatred clear in his eyes. One of his ears twitched at the sound, and the pup slowly turned his head to stare at the Whazzitian. He looked completely uninterested at her approach, watching her just for the sake of watching her. But once he took note of the nerves that Meliai was trying to hide- and her sidelong glance at another male in the clearing- the pup suddenly seemed to snap. His ears pinned back and a loud, fearsome snarl erupted from his throat. Even Naraji looked alarmed, yipping in surprise as the pup suddenly lurched forward to rip the meat out of her hands.

He took a few steps back to eat the food he was given, his heavy glare unmoving from Meliai now. He needs to be given attention to, you dumb female, he is much more of a threat than that idiotic two-legger over there. He deserves the attention, and you damn well better give it to him!

Lucas
The outburst that Meliai's attended pup had attracted the attention of a certain female. She turned her head to stare at her brother and the naked two-legger, her ears pinned backward. Slowly, her gaze went from those pair to the one that had set her brother off- Lucas. Baring her teeth silently, she sat up, her guardian looking at her in surprise. The Mlinzi gave a warning snarl to her, but the pup bared her fangs at him, her body language tense and screaming violence should the Lord displease her. Tafari snapped his teeth at her, narrowly avoiding sinking his teeth into the No Voice to Speak Female's scruff, and she swiped at him almost instantaneously.

Tafari was outraged at being lashed out at by the pup, but a quick snarl from the Queen forced him not to retaliate. Instead, he grudgingly followed her over to Lucas, giving him a snarl full of attitude. He wasn't in the mood, so don't f-ck with him. Meanwhile, the female stalked around him, her teeth bared. She knew you had food, and she knew you had enraged her brother. Give her the meat, and then she'd figure out what to do with you.

Go ahead and post! Updated descs will go below here once they're bonded off.

Quicklist
Heshima Tarkiv -- T'Rae
Mlinzi Lear -- Meliai
Erevu Achtung -- Geoffrey
Damu Kotep -- Da'chetre
Damu Valberg -- Professor
Jino Schrecken -- Geoffrey
Jino Tanilausu -- T'Rae
Njaa Cyare -- Da'chetre

The King's Crown Heshima
Appearance: Large, though not the largest of Heshima, powerful even when he moves. Has a very hefty presence, even with his dual colored eyes and the thick, heavy black mask that surrounds them. His fur is a lighter gray than normal, fading to black near his spine and mine.
Personality: Despite his intensely severe migraines and spouts of dizziness, this Heshima is nothing to underestimate. He is a just leader, though he rarely takes any concern for others and is very superior to all the rest. There is no way to escape his power, for he is known for his endurance and his ability to always remain number one.

I See All Damu
Appearance: Small and long limbed. Long face with pointed muzzle. Both eyes have gone from a deep chocolate to an eerie white since drinking from his bowl. Adjusting is a little more difficult for this male than the others though he is learning from his sister how to feel the vibrations in the ground and to use his ears for guidance, as he is both a little deaf and blind. His fur is short and thick, with a nice tan as a base, darkening around his toes and the tips of his ears. A dulled blood-red soaks his chest and back, and medium-sized splotches.
Personality: Nervous and with low self-esteem. Mentally scattered though has moments of clarity where intensely intelligent ideas come to mind. Forever faithful.

Owner of A Jealous Heart Mlinzi
Appearance: A little larger than most, but mostly through padding and not muscle or body structure. He looks overweight, and his disorder- Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA)- makes him slower and less able to endure long runs, which only secures this belief. His body is an unbroken rusty brown color, the same with his eyes.

No Voice to Speak Erevu
Appearance: Stocky and intimidating, this female is built much like a pitbull. With a base coat of black she is covered in small flecks of a white and light gray in tribute to the dalmatian, still with the stripe down her back.

Hear No Evil Jino
Appearance: Slender form, not well muscled. She has a long muzzle with pointed ears. Her base coat is a startling milky white, with a miasma of shades of gray mottled upon her coat. Dark gray marks the top of her nose and reaches up to her eyes, which are a nice soft amber.

Violent Ray of Sunshine Damu
Appearance: Scrawny, gangly, and a thick shaggy pelt marks this boy up. His eyes are super bright amber, which mixes painfully well with the extremely yellow-y tan of his fur, and the murderously bright blood-red markings that soak his neck, chest, and shoulders to the point where the tan can almost not be found.

In My Pants Njaa
Appearance: Well muscled and with a trimmed coat, this Njaa is unusually kept for his rank. His wiry fur is dull brown, and rusty red can be seen peeking out along his spine.
Personality: Being entirely confused when it comes to his sexual orientation due to some hormonal changes, this male tries his best to hide it by playing the ladies man wink.gif Social and flirtatious with the ladies, he is incredibly destructive and violent with males of any species.

Spine Chilling Fear Jino
Appearance: Average sized, there's nothing too astounding about the stature of this little menace. The colour of dusted rose brown coats her from the tip of her scarred nose to her docked tail. Alternating layers of tan and white drench her legs, while a white smudge marks her from her nose to eyes.

While not exactly making her more nervous or anxious, T'Rae was already about as on guard as she could possibly be, Kgosi's antics certainly didn't do anything to calm her down. At least not until he was going back to his post and allowing the pup to come forward, T'Rae assumed her offer passed his inspection because at least she wasn't getting bit. Even if he was still being unnecessarily hostile he wasn't outright trying to run her off or otherwise attack. She still didn't trust him, or any of the others around for that matter, her eyes still darting away from the pair in front of her to get a better look at everyone around her and keep a good feel for the surrounding situations.

The pup didn't need to worry that T'Rae was going to get to close, or otherwise try and take the meat back, she was keeping her hands to herself and well out of snapping fisipup range. Particularly with the snarling commotion over by Meliai that she did not want to get dragged into by any means. It was better to keep out of the way and mostly to herself as far as she was concerned. Similarly the pup didn't really need to worry about making any demands for more food, as soon as he was finished T'Rae was already reaching into her pack of her own volition. Feeding them seemed like a good way to keep them calm, and since the meet seemed to have his approval then it was all his as far as she was concerned. Not that she was particularly surprised that he approved, Raeri provided it and T'Rae generally trusted that she knew what she was doing, but it was still a nice bonus.

However this time T'Rae laid the meat out just a little bit closer to her, and consequently a little bit farther from Kgosi, in an attempt to coax the pup a little closer where she could get a good look at him. Not that she really thought she might get a better look at him through the paint but she was going to try. "Still hungry?" She questioned light and non-threatening, sure she didn't think she had done anything to upset him but she wasn't going to take any chances. "I've got plenty more." She wasn't exactly one to come unprepared. Whether he actually understood that or not was questionable, but she knew that Va'num showed a surprising intelligence and the last thing that she needed to do was to try and underestimate him. Better to be disappointed than sorry.

If Geoffrey thought having a rational conversation with the Fisi would help, he would have quite bluntly informed them that Kaldaunen and only Kaldaunen got a choke chain because he was flat-out mental, even by Fisi standards. He was well aware, however, that standing around reasoning with Fisi was silly at best and lethal at worst, and so let the salivating Damu's eerie staring speak for itself.

The cowering I See All pup was allowed to sit and cower to its heart's content while Geoffrey smiled tightly at the adult Njaa's approach. He leaned forward a little bit to offer it closer. Persuade the pup-watcher to be on his side and the pup-watcher would encourage the pup itself that Geoffrey was good, yes?

But the cyborg's attempts to play nice were rudely interrupted by The Professor joining in. Geoffrey was pretty good at faking polite to wild prettyshinies (he considered anything that wasn't bonded to be wild). He didn't have the same patience for people. Neither did Kaldaunen it seemed, for the trespasser snap something in his concentration and he quite suddenly broke off staring at the cowed pup to affix his stare on The Professor and snarl an echoing warning at him. Lots of other pups. Go see them. Or don't. He'd be happy to see what Time Lord entrails looked like.

Geoffrey did nothing to rein him in, considering it The Prfessor's dues for approaching the one that had caught his own attention. In fact The Professor should be grateful he didn't outright encourage Kaldaunen to rip his throat out. While he was looking up, however, Geoffrey glanced around to see what activity was going on with everyone else, noticed quite a few pups yet to be approach. Seeing no need to let it Fisi go to waste, he tossed a small chunk of practically stlil-bleeding meat towards the No Voice to Speak pup and its caretaker Mlinzi, although mostly for the pup. Hey. Hey you. Ignore whatever shit Lucas is stirring up, come over here where it's just nothing but lots of meat and a man who thinks you are the best thing since the invention of lugers.

T'Rae
The pup was impressed. Though the woman was clearly nerve-wracked, his glare was really unnecessary as she was already going back to retrieve more meat for him. But this didn't make him act any more lenient towards her, no. That would be showing weakness, you see, and he couldn't have any of that. The King's Crown male made no hesitation to start walking closer to her when the second chunk of food was offered, snatching it just before it hit the ground. He tossed his head back and gobbled it up, his teeth making an impressive snapping sound.

While another food offering wouldn't go unnoticed, this time, the youthful Fisi didn't ask for another. Kgosi watched in mild curiosity as the pup began to circle around the woman. But don't worry, Vulcan, he was just seeing how much of a threat you were. After one or two circles he stopped in front of her once more, yipping at her demandingly. He pointedly looked at each and every Fisi in the area, trying to determine if you had any of your own. And, T'Rae, I sure hope you can catch on quick- he doesn't have a lot of patience.

Geoffrey
I'll have the pup respond to Keldaunen once Prof responds.
Oh, what's this? The rather brash female pup heard something hit the ground in her general vicinity. Her caretaker, that ridiculous Mlinzi, looked over and snarled warningly at the Cyborg, not even caring that Geoffrey was only trying to get the female's attention. He just wanted to snarl, okay? But the No Voice to Speak pup was interested. Here was a two-legger actively trying, even wanting, her attention. Lucas might be pissing of her brother but what else did this man have up his sleeve?

Snapping her teeth together at Lucas in clear dismissal, the youth stalked over towards the chunk of meet lying on the ground and within seconds it was gone. Baring her teeth, she stalked closer to Geoffrey, her eyes trained on him while the Mlinzi grudgingly followed, trying to completely ignore the man's presence in favor of basically paying attention to anything else. Well? What else could you do for her, Geoffrey? Because she certainly wasn't going to be chained up like the pathetic Damu you have with you (yeah, she noticed that)!

Geoffrey just made a stupid face back at the Mlinzi. You could think of him as a bluh bluh huge 8itch if you wanted, it wasn't going to stop Geoffrey from trying to win over as many of the young Fisi as possible. Don't tell him that Da'chetre likes them too, you'll ruin them for him. Shh, only hyena babies now.

Anyway. Back to the actual pups and their caretakers. Geoffrey didn't care too much about impressing the Mlinzi, as long as he didn't outright wring his neck he figured he was probably safe, especially if he could win over the pup, which it seemed he was starting to do. Surely the caretakers weren't going to ruin the pups' happy day, right? Just sit along the sidelines, Mlinzi, and let Geoffrey handle this.

He wasn't surprised that his Damu's chain seem to get a fair bit of attention. If anything, it amused Geoffrey a little bit, and he gave a loose jangling shake of the metal links that Kaldaunen himself didn't respond to. "He likes it," he assured the female pup with a loud voice of confidence and half of a sharp grin. "Don't look like you do, though, don't worry," he continued, being vaguely reassuring. He took out another chunk of meat and held out his hand before tossing it to the ground near him as well.

A flash of a metallic hand beckoned her to join them while he shifted his weight a little bit. Crouching down like this was a little sore, but probably the safest way to be down at their level. Sitting down all the way was just begging to be murdered before you could stand up and make an escape.

Nerve-wracking was one way to put it, but at least T'Rae didn't openly jump. Mostly because Ceel was being rational and steady in the background and wasn't going to let the Vulcan run screaming from a puppy, but that was beside the point. The point was that once Kgosi had backed off T'Rae actually managed to relax a little, it didn't mean that she wasn't aware of the pups every movement and still just a little bit on the defensive. She didn’t squirm under the pups investigation, as much as she might have wanted to. She was not going to let them think that she was that scared of them. Nervous, yes, but not outright fearful.

When he came to a stop and started barking at her T'Rae could figure out that he was trying to communicate, what he was trying to say took her a second or two to work out, though his pointed staring around the clearing and at all the other fisi helped. Slowly the Vulcan nodded, "Two." She held up her hand to make it clear, though he was clearly more intelligent than that. "A Jino named Va'num and a Njaa named Petakov." She explained. Not the largest pack, certainly it wouldn't compare to Geoffrey's by any means, but it wouldn't be too hard for anyone to guess as to why that might be. She wasn't exactly a huge fan of the species.

Still, the pup wasn't being outright hostile and that certainly helped to calm T'Rae down. Which meant less glancing around and more actually getting a good look at him, not much to see being covered in paint but it didn't stop her from making notes. There didn't seem anything outwardly wrong with him like some of the other pups, if anything he seemed to be one of the calmest and most composed of them. One more nervous glance around the clearing, mostly taking note over everywhere the pup had looked in an attempt to get his point across, before settling her attention entirely on him.

The adult Fisi snatched up the food without hesitation and that was enough to assure Chet that he was in the Damu’s ‘good enough’ graces. Edee was distracted by Maeko’s approach, thankfully, and Chet was able to focus on Sunshine as the pup lowered slowly down to partake of the meat. The vampire received a snort from the Horansi, but he wasn’t going to try and chase of her off—not yet, at least. Instead, while the woman stood there and kept the meat to herself, Chet decided to put more in front of the pup, and even offered another slip to the adult. He had plenty to go around, and while there were definitely others he could have put his attention to, he was still most interested in the yellow pup.

“You like eat, yes? Me too. Sometimes go hunting with Fisi. Like Edee.” He jiggled the chain connected to his Jino. “She I go hunt plenty. Like thrill. You like thrill?” Maybe if he could establish some common ground the pup would see that this could be a mutually beneficial union.
