SOFIE + VICTOIRE
The new school year has brought quite a few changes - new headmaster, a full time Ministry Inspector, new prefects, new quidditch captains...and a new Professor Malloy. Obviously everyone is going to have to adjust to the fact that grouchy Potions Master married the vivacious Care of Magical Creatures - including the newlyweds who have discovered that by the school year's end there will be a little Malloy. Luckily for Victoire this gives her a chance to work with a pre-natal patient during her practical healing placement rather than when she returns to London for an actual job. A nice conversation about reading for the time being, but with Vic's worries buried under the surface and Sofie's filler completely off due to hormones...this could go anywhere.
“Three guesses what’s happening. I need you two to go to Hagrid and warn the Care of Magical Creatures class, for all we know this could be affecting things as far as the Forbidden For—” --- to Elisha Thurkell and Melinda Lockwood as he realizes all heck is about to break loose in Breath, Just Br -PANIC!

Most, if not all students, were down eating dinner. Nick ought to be down there eating as well, but for some reason he wasn't. He was actually wandering the castle, lost in thought. It wasn't a specific thought that kept running through his head; it was a variety of thoughts. Exams, graduation, his future, the strange things happening around the castle -- everything was sort of a jumbled mess right now. Nick didn't like it when he had too many thoughts going on at the same time. It made it extremely easy for him to get confused, and when he was extremely confused, Nick ended up sleeping a lot more just to ignore those thoughts.
One would think that food would help take Nick's mind off everything, but he couldn't seem to even think along those lines today. That was why he had taken to wandering around the castle. Nick was hoping that if he wandered around long enough he might be able to stop thinking, or find something that would take his mind off everything else.
There was no real reason for Nick to be stressing like this, for what else could he be doing thinking about so many things at a single time? The thoughts just kept coming, and it was all he could do to try and sort them out. He supposed that somewhere in the back of his mind he was worried that he might not pass his exams, or not become an Auror-in-training... or who knew what else. The trouble with all that worrying, however, was the simple fact that Nick didn't normally worry about anything at all. Usually he didn't think at all, and then just scrambled to get things together at the end. It didn't always make sense to do things that way, but it had worked pretty well for Nick thus far. He couldn't say he had ever screwed up completely because he didn't plan ahead.
He supposed that after so long of putting things off and not trying very hard, it had been bound to happen that he would start to actually worry. This was his future he was worrying about, after all. He had every right to worry about that. His future would lead to him getting a job, making a living -- if he couldn't do all of that, then what would he do at all? He couldn't live off his parents for the rest of his life, and really, he ought to make something of himself after having such big names in his own family. Part of that scared him. Nick didn't think he would ever amount to something great like that, but he did feel he ought to at least try to not be a total screw-up in the future.
Sighing, Nick stopped in his tracks, a hand going up to rub his forehead. He was tired of all this thinking. Either he would do well on his exams and pass, or he wouldn't. There wasn't any room for something in between. That thought seemed to make him feel better a little bit, but all thoughts flew out of his mind completely when a door magically appeared on the wall to his left. Nick blinked in surprise, because he hadn't been trying to find the Room of Requirement... but now that it had appeared, he would be rather silly not to go in and explore.
He gave a half shrug, figuring exploration would beat thinking anytime, and pushed his way into the room, unsure of what he would find.
