WELCOME

Over a thousand years ago the four greatest witches and wizards of the age banded together to create a safe haven for those who possessed magical power. The castle, known to all as Hogwarts, became not just a place of safety, but one of the greatest magical schools of all time. However the castle has many secrets in its past, most of which have not been uncovered. And now one of those secrets, dating back to the very founding of the school, has discovered the modern era. The Founders had prayed this dark chapter of their lives would be lost...but such prayers are never answered. Welcome to What Lies Within. Are you ready for the year to come?

TEA AND BISCUITS, PLEASE!

SOFIE + VICTOIRE

The new school year has brought quite a few changes - new headmaster, a full time Ministry Inspector, new prefects, new quidditch captains...and a new Professor Malloy. Obviously everyone is going to have to adjust to the fact that grouchy Potions Master married the vivacious Care of Magical Creatures - including the newlyweds who have discovered that by the school year's end there will be a little Malloy. Luckily for Victoire this gives her a chance to work with a pre-natal patient during her practical healing placement rather than when she returns to London for an actual job. A nice conversation about reading for the time being, but with Vic's worries buried under the surface and Sofie's filler completely off due to hormones...this could go anywhere.

I need you two to go to Hagrid and warn the Care of Magical Creatures class, for all we know this could be affecting things as far as the Forbidden For—” --- to Elisha Thurkell and Melinda Lockwood as he realizes all heck is about to break loose in Breath, Just Br -PANIC!

Ever since the boggart incident, Aurora had been sleeping less and less. For some reason she couldn't get the images out of her mind, of her own boggart, and how she had looked dead. She had seen her boggart only once before in defense against the dark arts, and it had haunted her then. But she had only had nightmares for a short while, and eventually they went away. She hadn't been expecting a boggart to jump out at her though, and she was embarrassed by how she had acted. She was supposed to be brave wasn't she? Instead she had went running like a coward from her own boggart, and probably severely damaged Zhou's image of her. The worst though was the nightmares, humiliation she could live with...sleep deprivation not so much. Mainly because she was beginning to drift off in class, and it wasn't like her professors weren't noticing. Unfortunately for her, they seemed to be locking in on the fact that she wasn't getting enough sleep. It had even been suggested (rather strongly) that she head to the hospital wing and get something to help her sleep.

It was a wonder why she hadn't thought of that before now, really.

With her afternoon classes she had decided to heed the advice that had been given to her, (though it was more like a demand, really) for her to go to the hospital wing. She wasn't a fan of going there, especially as it reminded her of her unfortunate quidditch accident, and her leaving her favorite sport. But she knew if she didn't, there was a very likely possibility that she would spend another night tossing and turning. Sooner or later if she didn't get some sleep, solid sleep that is, she was going to begin seeing things. The last thing she needed was for people to believe she was crazy. The reputation she already had was bad enough, she imagined, considering her lack of censorship when she spoke.

She was nearing the hospital wing when suddenly while she was walking she slammed into someone hard. Well, that was what she got for walking with half-lidded eyes, and being half asleep in a considerably large crowd of students buzzing about to their next location. "I'm sorry! I wasn't watching where I was going," Aurora yawned, pausing to look up and see who she had bumped into in the first place. A frown appeared on the girls face, and she raised a hand to rub at her eyes briefly. "Crowe," She stated in disdain, not even bothering to hide her annoyance at the male. While it had been her fault in the first place, she quickly began to wonder if half of the fault wasn't on Crowe himself. It wasn't like she was that hard to miss, obviously he hadn't been paying attention either if he hadn't just stepped around her. Prat.

Of course her dislike of Crowe stemmed from when they both played quidditch together, and it was well known that the male would resort to anything to win - including harming her team mates, or herself. That being said she would offer no hospitality to him, or pleasantries. "Actually I'm not sorry. You should watch where you're going. I thought you were better than to bump into a lowly muggle born like me."

Potions was starting to get more than a little ridiculous these days. Thankfully he hadn't had to work with Potter in several lessons though if he ever got paired up with one of Tricia's roommates again, he was going to ask to work with the redhead again. Higgs was just as airheaded as her older sister and refused to do any prep work and then complained about the steam doing things to her hair. Fed up, Kevin had rushed his material preparation and and a few of the potion's steps. After all, it had only been a cure for boils - a first year potion Malloy was having them review - so he hadn't really been sweating too many details. Which was to his peril as he discovered ten minutes later when he asked the girl to stir the cauldron while he got the next set of ingredients ready. Truth be told if he had ever made a bigger mistake in Potions class than that, he'd quite forgotten what it was because no sooner had the girl given two quick stirs, the potion exploded all over the workstation.

The only upshot of the whole thing was that he got to cut out of potions early - most of the exploded liquid had gotten Higgs who had pulled her robes around her face before stomping off at a fast pace to the hospital wing ahead of him. Only his arm had really taken the hit, looking like a massive, pus filled boil, though a few drops had gotten his neck and clothes. Of course Madame Moss was able to put all of that right in a trice, though she'd confiscated his outer robes, vest, shirt and tie for the special laundry services as a precaution. Not that Kevin was going to argue, even though the spare boys dress shirt she had lying around was a bit big on him, he definitely didn't want to absent-mindedly rub his skin on a contaminated fabric and get a rash all over again. Bloody hell, why can't I work with Carmichael next time? Or even just a bloke period? he wondered as he left the Hospital Wing looking good as new. Hell, he'd partner Robert Davies if it meant never having to work with a prissy girl during potions ever again. At least I'll have some time to get clothes that actually fit me before Defense. he thought as she began to round a corner from the staircase to the first floor...

...Only to have someone slam into him quite forcefully. "Oi! Watch where you're going!" he snarled, face darkening further when he saw red trim on the uniform. The small person began to apologize but obviously recognized him because the words were taken back quite quickly. Really? Is this just one of those days? He was really starting to hope to see the so called demon child right about now - word was she seemed to hate Gryffindors. (Alright so she didn't like Slytherins either but people had started theorizing that it was because she didn't like their house colour or a pair of their members specifically.) Not to mention the demon/entity thing simplified the whole situation; she appeared, made stuff happen and then Gryffindors did stupid things thinking they were saving the day while sensible people like himself high tailed it to safer ground. "Rude much, Blackwood." he retorted, giving the girl a once over. "And please, it's only my Grandmother who despises muggleborns. I find some are actually quite useful and therefore worth my time." Like Renna when she wasn't trying to kill him or setting off Tricia's warning bells for interfering with her plans. "And please, you admitted yourself that you weren't watching where you were going. Which makes this collision your fault."
