Personality: Marcus is a friendly lad who almost always has some sort of smile upon his face. While he has his bad days and moments, just like everyone else, he prefers to look at the brighter side of life. He’s an optimistic boy, and tends to think like a little kid that when things go wrong that everything will turn out alright in the end. It is this friendliness and his kindness that makes him willing to help anyone that needs his help. Because of his willingness to help anyone, it allows some manipulative people to be able to take advantage of his kindness, since he trusts them. Well the first time anyway, after someone has betrayed his trust he becomes wary of that person, and will never completely trust them again. Despite his kindness Mark takes his responsibility as a prefect seriously and enforces the rules fairly.

Moreover both family and close friends experience Mark's loyalty for them . For example, he is loyal to his family because they have earned his love. In addition, he is protective of his sister because he's her big brother and he feels that it's his responsibility to be protective over her. His friends can receive his loyalty when he gets closer to them, and really starts to care for them almost like his family. Also, when he thinks or feels that his friends might care the same way about him.

Mark’s really quite shy and rather quiet especially, when first meeting someone. It’s not that he doesn’t like people, or making new friends, it just takes him a little while to open up to someone at first. Mark enjoys being around others most of the time; he just remains rather quiet because he is unsure of what he wants to say. He's afraid that he might say the wrong thing, or that what he has to say will make him sound stupid. And he is also, afraid that others will laugh at him. Since, he's secretly afraid of what other's think of him, he contemplates on what he says. This is why the lad prefers being in smaller groups than larger one's, because he doesn't feel he needs to watch what he says as much. Although, he is more open and carefree once he realizes that someone isn't likely to make fun of him. Marcus feels that they do truly care about him just the way he his and that his opinions no matter what are valued.

Furthermore Mark enjoys reading, and he works at hard at his studies in order to succeed in them. The Hufflepuff boy works hard to make both of his parents proud of him, especially his dad. Also he wants to get the best grades he can to have options for his career. That way he can do whatever job he feels like he really wants to do. While he works hard on his studies that doesn’t mean he doesn’t like to have fun or even enjoy a good laugh. He likes playing games with his friends; he just prefers those were no one could get hurt easily. Mark has a habit of running his hands through his hair and messing it up. It started as something he would do as a little boy when he was feeling nervous, and now it occurs without thinking about it. In addition, the boy has a tendency to drop the H's at the beginning of words when he speaks.

History: Marcus Justin Finch- Fletchley, was born on the day of February 15 to Justin and Natalie Finch- Fletchley. He was the first-born and the only boy to be born to the couple. Although Marcus doesn’t remember the short time that he was an only child, because his little sister was born when he was one and just a baby. Growing up Mark loved his little sister, despite their little arguments sometimes, and when she would occasionally annoy him. Still as her big brother, he wanted to protect her as much as he could without being too overbearing, well try not to be anyway. Since Justin was a muggleborn wizard, Mark learned about both the muggle world and the wizarding world growing up. Also, when he was old enough he went to a muggle primary school, because his dad thought it important that he and his sister received a muggle education before heading off to Hogwarts.

While Mark was close to both his parents, he was slightly closer to his dad than his mom. He would spend time with just his dad, playing games or even watching sports or movies together. Also, Marcus would hear stories from his parents about their times at Hogwarts. This sparked his curiosity, and he had dreams about going there, and wondering what house he would be in. He wondered if he would be in Gryffindor like his mother or in Hufflepuff like his father, or perhaps in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. At the age of eleven, Mark finally received his letter to Hogwarts, and was excited because now he was finally able to go to the school.

In his first year at Hogwarts the sorting hat placed the young boy into Hufflepuff, which Mark feels was the best choice for him. Besides the lad loves being a Hufflepuff, and honestly would rather be there than in any other house. In addition to, making friends and studying hard to get good grades at school, Mark would spend some of his free time searching for a secret passage or two in the school. The idea came from some of his books that mentioned secret passageways in old castles, so Marcus reasoned Hogwarts must have one also. In his second year, his sister received her letter to Hogwarts, which pleased Marcus because now his sister would be at Hogwarts with him. He watched her get sorted into Hufflepuff and was glad they were both in the same house as he could be there for her, if she needed him, better than if they were in different houses. Although he would have been happy for her no matter what house she was in, he likes that they’re together in the same house.

During the summer, before his fifth year, he received his Prefect’s badge, which surprised him because he hadn’t been expecting to be the one to receive. His parent’s were thrilled that he was a prefect, and he himself thought it was a great responsibility and he hoped he could show that he really was meant to have it. In addition, he spent his fifth year studying hard for his OWL's, worrying about how hard they were going to be. Also Mark knew that he wanted to at least pass them, and he would be embarrassed if he were to get a T on one. That summer as he got his results he realized that perhaps he had worried a bit too much as he got an E in every subject, except for an A in Astronomy and O's in Transfiguration and Care of Magical Creatures. Then he thought that perhaps it was that worrying of how he was going to do that helped him to do so well on his OWL's. For his sixth year Marcus spend some of his time trying to help Amanda out on her OWL's and relieve as much stress about them as he could.

Now it’s his seventh and final year at Hogwarts and he still hasn’t found a secret passageway in the castle, which he wants to find before he graduates from Hogwarts. That way he can say that he had found a secret at Hogwarts, and knowing a secret passageway could be useful for his prefect rounds or even getting to a certain class faster. Also Selene Baker , who Marcus has had a small crush on since fourth year, asked him to serve as an escort for Mallory Quirke in Hogsmeade. When Selene first started dating Calias Aubrey, Mark felt a little sad and upset at first that it wasn't him. After which he buried his feelings thinking that Calias seemed like a nice and honorable guy. Besides Selene was happy with Calias and Marcus didn't want to ruin that at all, besides, he thought to himself, he hadn't even tried to tell her how he felt before this. Therefore, Mark agreed to escort Mallory and keep her company for a while, because he was willing to help people and it would help keep him from having to spend most of the day alone. Although he felt rather awkward at Hogsmeade when Alina and Selene just take off and left Mallory and him there, before the poor girl had time to react to the situation. Mark had thought she was supposed to know that he was supposed to be with her in Hogsmeade as friends and not anything romantic. He thinks Mallory's a nice girl and all but, he wonders why Selene and Alina just took off like that nor why they wouldn’t want to let Mallory know about the situation.

Then there have been the strange accidents that have been happening lately which leave him not really knowing what to think, although he is increasingly curious about what the cause of them is and what’s happening. For the first one he was in the hallway after history of magic, helping to get some of the younger students and himself to safety from the attack of the bludger. Mark was upset that Alina had got hurt, but luckily, more people didn’t get hurt. The second accident he heard about from his sister and was glad that she was alright. For the third accident, he was in his dorm room at the time working on a Transfiguration essay and heard about it after the fact in his common room. On Halloween, what started out as a fun and simple game of hide and seek/ tag, soon turned into something far less enjoyable. First, all the rooms were changed around and doorways didn't lead to where they were really supposed to go, which was rather odd and somewhat strange. Then Mark ended up finding himself stuck with Zhou Davies, which wasn't a whole lot of fun for the boy, although it wasn't really Zhou fault, it was just different having someone unexpectedly stuck inside your close personal space, or figuring out at first how to move together. Finally, the evening ended with Mark stuck in a dog pile with most of his year mates in a rather awkward position. He really wasn't too fond of that scenario because now that he was stuck to more people, there were more people in his personal space. Besides the whole situation was quite embarrassing, and his face was rather red by midnight, when they were finally released from each other which greatly relieved Marcus. Accident 6 was strange to him because one minute he had just caught Selene out after curfew and the next thing he knew he was seeing Mallory's face with the memory of having shared a kiss with her. He wonder's why it was Mallory's kiss that woke him and instead of anyone else in the castle, especially since he had never really had an actual date with the girl. Marcus thought it was normal to feel weird that a girl you had never really dated had kissed you to make you wake up, although honestly he found the kiss kind of enjoyable, if not quite embarrassing. Marcus is worried about all the strange things that have been happening at Hogwarts lately, and even what might come next, although he hopes that nothing else happens. Furthermore, he has heard the rumors that Scorpius Malfoy is behind all these events but Marcus is not so sure he believes them. Some of the accidents seem like they would require the caster to wield more magic than what Marcus thought a seventh year could handle let alone a sixth year. Although he has no idea how the accidents are being caused, but he is curious to find the answer to that question.

_–_Prove Yourself_–_
Sample RP: Marcus sat on his bed in the seventh year Hufflepuff boys dorm, while he sucked on his bottom lip in concentration as he thought of how to finish his Potions essay. He then scribbled the words onto the parchment as soon as he had thought of them. After he had read over what he had wrote making sure everything was correct he said aloud, “Alright now I’m all done,” as he quickly rose up and put his supplies away were they belonged. Now he had a couple hours of free time and he just had to decide what he wanted to do with himself.

Mark decided that he wanted to spend some time outside, and the boy felt that the lake was a good place to go. Therefore, he headed outdoors giving a smile and a wave to friends, and anybody he passed really, on the way by. The young Hufflepuff mouth turned up in a wide grin as he stepped into the fresh air and thought it was a great day outside, with the brightly shining sun and the clear blue sky. He took a deep breath and absentmindedly ran his fingers through his hair, making his hair look messier than it already was. He quickly continued to walk towards the lake and finally found a good place to sit in the shade underneath an oak tree.

After he had sat himself down, he lent back against the tree and just started to relax enjoying his time off. Mark gave a contented sigh glad he had the ability to do this and thought that he should find the time to do this more often. Of course, he thought that this would be more fun if there was someone else to talk with, although he didn’t mind sitting here by himself right now. The lad looked all around him enjoying what he saw and just the fact that he was outside, he also spent time thinking about something else he could do as well to keep him busy. Mark found a small pebble on the ground by him; the boy picked it up and used it to play catch with himself.
