School Clubs

What would any school be without a vast assortment of clubs? Hogwarts is simply no exception. If you have an idea for a club, reply to this thread and an admin will set up a thread so you can keep track of your clubs members.

Name of Club: Hogwarts Choir
Purpose: A place for musically inclined students to refine and develop their skills. They also perform at several school events and host a charity concert each spring before exams.
How Often Do You Meet: Once a week. Twice before an event.
Staff Sponsor: Professor Flitwick
How many members can join: no limit
Restrictions:You must have some kind of musical talent.

Name of Club: Healing Studies
Purpose: To teach students interested in a Healing career some of the basic spells and skills needed for the profession.
How Often Do You Meet: Mondays and Wednesdays from 8PM to 9PM, plus one hour of volunteering a week
Staff Sponsor: Madame Moss
How many members can join: 10 students, most
Restrictions: Must must have OWLs in at least Charms, Herbology, Potions and Transfiguration. You must have a combination of two "E's" and two "O's"

Rose Weasley~Wishes to work in Spell Damage and Healing Research

Name of Club: Mat Madness
Purpose: To benefit the health of students though yoga. It's also an excellent way to study the Muggle activity. Should they be interested, it's a great way for Quidditch Players to increase strength and flexibility.
How Often Do You Meet: Three times a week. Once on Saturday Morning. And Tuesday and Thursday at 5:30 AM.
Staff Sponsor: Sofie Winchester
How many members can join: 16
Restrictions: Open to those interested in yoga. People who cannot wake up early are advised against joining.

Name of Club: Hogwarts Weekly
Purpose: To explore the art of journalism by creating a student-run newspaper. To incite their fellow students to get into the habit of reading the newspaper and therefore becoming well-informed (somewhat) civilians. Will pay for itself with advertising space.
How Often Do You Meet: Once a week on Monday nights for assignments.
Staff Sponsor: Professor Patricia Blith
How many members can join: 20
Restrictions: Article writers are required to have passable grades and a good grasp of the English language. Editor must not have conflicts with other significant clubs (namely Quidditch) and needs to be at least a Sixth Year, with a good academic standing. Also, must be approved by a simple majority of the Hogwarts Weekly staff.
