In the ancient world, long before humans arrived on these shores, there lived four races.
Elves, with pointed ears and slanted eyes, who chose to live in harmony with the earth. It was said that their music could charm plants into growth, and that their beauty was unrivaled by any other race.
Shapeshifters, who were known for having no set form. They were able to switch between a human-like body, the shape of any one animal that they wished, and a backup, for when the other appearances failed them.
Vampires, the cursed souls required to drink blood constantly and hide under cover of night. Their skin tended to be drawn and pale, reflecting their nocturnal habits.
Finally, Werewolves, who transformed under the light of the full moon into creatures that inspired terror in much of the ancient world’s population. They usually appeared like any other normal being-- until that fateful time.
These races lived in peace for centuries, despite the tension that existed between Werewolves and Vampires. Each race kept to themselves in order to preserve the tranquility of the land. Indeed, some races were so isolated that they were thought by the others to be made up entirely of myth.
The peace was not to last.
There comes certain times when two societies must come into contact, and it just so happened that one of these occasions between Elves and Werewolves ended in needless bloodshed. Knowing of the hatred that was already in effect, the Elves sought out the Vampires as their allies, and declared war on all Werewolves. Coincidentally, it was around this time that another act of violence occurred between the Vampires and Shapeshifters.
And so, the war between a union of Elves and Vampires and a legion of Werewolves and Shapeshifters began.
