Averting his gaze back towards the direction he thought Sirius was rushing in, James was shocked to see no shabby black dog running along side the other trees instead all he saw was complete darkness and thin trees. Skidding to a holt he retraced his tracks sure that the reason for him not being at his side any longer would be because he had caught onto the scent or whereabouts of their escapee.

Taking a slower pace this time he cast nervous glances around the woods unable to get any signal to where both of his friends where. What if he was in danger? What if Remus had done something that would make another life changing event? What if something happened, which could easily have been prevented, with his presence?

Charging through the forest, desperate to find something or hear some sort of signal, James hadn’t given a second care for where he was going, and bumped into a some-what solid creature. Stumbling aside he froze at the familiar growling noise.

Got there in time, huh?

The werewolf looked at the stag wearily, hesitated, and then looked back at its squirrel. It then turned to the two larger animals, growling once more. Not so much threatening this time, but more letting them know to leave his meat alone. Then it turned and lay down by the meat again, lapping up the last of the blood hungrily. It then stood up, stretched, and looked at the two animals, as if to say, 'Now what?'

It wouldn't run away again. It had had its fun already tonight. And two times in one night may be a bit much.

Sirius barked again, somewhat warily. The werewolf had stopped being confrontational, but he was still cautious of it. He was scared of it, to be honest. Not that he'd ever admit as much – for Remus's sake as much as for protecting his YES NOT SCARED OF ANYTHING, THAT'S ME thing.

The beating of his heart began to slow, not so shocked anymore he relaxed down, thankful that the werewolf returned to its meal.

So that answered his earlier question about the food the Great Hall provided them earlier that evening. Obviously Squirrel took his fancy far better then Chicken did. Shifting his front right hove over the muddy floor below him, Prongs marked a small ‘X’ out of boredom. His mind now turning onto the whereabouts of Peter.

The werewolf looked at the others impatiently, then turned around and set off at a slow run, expecting them to follow.

It was bored. It didn't like standing around. It wanted to run, to go faster. It didn't want to wait for the others, who were slow enough. But eventually it came to a halt, and because the others were still in view, cocked its head once again, sitting down and actually waiting for the others, barking impatiently. It hadn't noticed to absence of the rat yet, but it did notice a pheasent a bit further up making a right racket.

And just as James was just about ready to rest his limbs and sit down on the leafy floor, the creature in which he was bound to mentally for the evening took off again into the forest for another game of 'Chase the Werewolf'. Wasting no more time, the Stag bolted off after him, though his speed was never to match the Werewolfs nor was it going to be faster then the dogs.

Though as he found himself catching up with him he saw that this probably wasn't a race, more of a teasing run, something to just pass the time?

It was in the mood for a right ol' jolly pack romp around the Grounds. Maybe sneak into Hogsmeade, smell a few people!scents, and than come back to the forest for a jolly run around to wind down, then have a nice old nap in the Shrieking Shack on that bed. It barked again, padding over to the stag and walking around it, making long snuffling noises with its nose.

The werewolf stopped finally, happy it had had a nice ol' sniff, and walked off, itching to run, race.

If he had lips (which hannah just assumes he doesnt SINCE HE DOESNT MAKE ANY NOISE.... ahem apart from moans and belches and such) James would be grinning widely at the males antics.

Why exactly was he sniffing him? Did he smell bad or nice? Oh gosh, nice as in, nice enough to eat? Or too nice to eat?

Catching up, Sirius barked exuberantly, pelting hell-for-leather in and out of the trees and hurtling past the others a little way before he realised they'd slowed down. He stopped , pacing-bounding from side to side while he waited for them to catch up.

The stag smelt like flowers. Lilies and daisies and lovely, lovely roses. The werewolf looked at the dog and happly barked, bounding after it and jumping up on its hind legs and batting at the air for the dog to meet it. Yay for play fighting. It tugged at the dog's ear with its teeth lightly, then stood on hind legs again.

Obviously the smell of James didn't urge the Werewolf to stay put. He watched as he bounded off, rearing up on his hind legs and swatting the air around him in signal for a play fight match with Sirius.

And as usual, James was there with his strong antlers and quick eye as support for the dog incase he got hurt or the werewolf took it one step too far.
