I have my tickets and am off to see this tomorrow night...really looking forward to seeing what Keanu brings to this. I just love that fact that he doesn't have to be the movie star.

Saw this last night...the movie for me was even better than the book. Very true to the book but obviously different in some ways becasue of the different medium. I will write a full review later...have a very busy weekend so will not be able to post more fully till Monday. Needless to say Keanu was great. He nailed Chris. This was shown at the Sydney Film Festival so the audience were people who like indy sorts of movies...it was well-recieved...lots of laughter in the right places. A definite add to DVD collection when it comes out. I reread parts of the book this morning just to check how close it and the movie were...great!

For those in Aus...I contacted the distributor and PLoPL will have a limited release in the last quarter of 2009...so probably after September, and will be released to DVD in 2nd quarter of 2010.

got the DVD. yesterday. watched the movie last night.
but before writing any comments, I need to watch it again... at a first viewing, though... I had a feeling the narrative was lacking. at least in the first half of the movie. the strong points of the movie seem to be the dialogue , and the editing, and the characters- rather sketched than fully-fledged, and yet with hints and undertones of back stories we can only guess , but never know. except for Pippa's. |
