Froststorm trotted briskly through the muddy earth, trying to keep her paws from sinking into the muck by keeping her pace fast and steady. She parted her jaws, just tasting the air for anything abnormal, when she caught the scent of her sister. Her claws unsheathed instinctively, but she sheathed them again as she gathered her thoughts. More wary now, Froststorm continued toward Oxbow Lake in search of Cloverleaf.

Saberclaw was smart enough to hide his scent by catching a squirrel on his way here. he hid in the branches above, making sure Cloverleaf just showed her brother the way there and not give away anything, but this little conversation would give him information. He was already trying to win her trust and once those kits were born, his plan would be set into action. She had the right mind not to trust him, but she had the wrong mind to get angry and lie to him.
