The original Vampires are from Europe. The Europeans colonized and so did the vampires so in short terms the American Vampires are very similar to European Breeds.
All vampires have acute senses and increased strength as well as appear pale. However they do have slight pigment in the skin for example a Native American Vampire (Indian) would have a olive tone in his pale skin. Most American Vampires and majority of the others feed upon humans, Personally I dont like the taste. Some vampires are vegetarians meaning they dont feed on humans, instead they feed on animals preferally big game like bears, lions and predatorial animals but it has been known that they feed on other animals such as cattle and or other harmless prey.
Vampires of all breeds have increased strength and nearly inpenatrable skin. Some breeds dont ever touch human blood and some do. Most breeds are also cold to the touch and often dont flinch in cold weather. Some resume breathing after death so as to fit in to humanity. The virus/posion/venom is spread through a bite and or contact with the venom(looks like blood in a vampire except slightly darker or a least from what I know. Most vampires travel in groups know as covens. Vampires are refered to as pest, leeches, bloodsuckers, death bringers, immortals, etc., etc.
