From the notepad of Coach Kilmister:

(Posted Image)

Right. So since I'm subbing for Coach Vigoda, I guess I'll have to explain the line-up deviation.

Offence:

Villa and Totti on the counter, with Mancini, Ribery and Riquelme adding secondary pressure. Villa is really quick, and both Totti and Riquelme are such good passers that he'll have more than enough opportunities on the break to go one on one with a frightened Mr. Van Der Saar. Etobcioke Juniors has players who are good at holding the ball, especially Riquelme, Makelele, Totti, and Ribery, so this will make things difficult for the A-Team Selects to gain possession. ATS's back four is composed of old and creeky geezers: Maldini is close to retirement, Sol Campbell has been displaced by Senderos and is crazy, Thuram no longer has the legs to play as full back, and the only youngen, A. Ferdinand, isn't as great as Coach T would like him to be. This defensive vulnerability lets Etobicoke Juniors run riot with many attempts to score. Also, they have no bona-fide stopper in midfield, thus further allowing Etobicoke Juniors to basically set-up shop in the ATS half and pass the ball around until a great scoring opportunity results. Hell, we may as well buy real estate in the ATS half, as we won't be leaving. If they want to stretch the defence to provide more coverage, both Totti and Riquelme can score from distance. In addition, I've asked our sweeper to make a few runs into the ATS's half, just to underscore how defensively sad their midfield is. I reckon Van Der Saar may have to wear a diaper in order to cope with how many shots he'll face. Will Etobicoke Juniors score? Yes, though the better question will be 'how many?'

Defence

Well, by having two holding midfielders, Etobicoke Juniors basically strangles the service the forwards will get. The combination of Makelele and Mascherano makes the midfield unbreachable, basically erasing Van Bommel and Lampard, with Ribery and Mancini providing coverage on the flanks to neutralise Giggs and Hleb. They may try to send in crosses to beat my midfield, but both Ayala and Mexs are excellent at anticipating the play and can read headers exceptionally well. Krstajic is rock solid. Giggs has had the worst year goal wise with only 2 and Hleb only has 3, so they're hardly threats to score - the two of them aren't even fit to shine Mancini's shoes, as he has scored a tidy dozen goals for AS Roma. I think the Etobicoke Juniors back three with the midfield defence can more then neutralize Trezeguet and Rooney, but the offensive attacks will most likely be stopped in midfield. And even if ATS manages a meek shot on goal, Buffon will most certainly stop em.

In Conclusion, Etobicoke Juniors will kick A-Team Selects's collective asses. The only fool Coach T should be pittying is himself, for assembling a team with such a weak-ass defence.

if the skill of Juniors was half as good as the coachs writing skill they woudl be set. To say the Giggs and Hleb are not a threat...crazy. Rooney will out muscle anyone and pot the ball all night...trezequet will run circles around the D causing having for lampard to step in and fire some from long range. The defence as old as EJ would like to think they are are still top level defenders in the best leagues int eh world against the best strikes day in and day out so to be fooled by age and say they can not defend is obnoxious.

On to the next round for ATS

A-Team Selects League goals:

Rooney: 16
Trezeguet: 22
Hleb: 3
Giggs: 2
Lampard: 16
Van Bommel: 2
Maldini: 2 -the 37year old geezer only played in 13 Serie A matches.
Campbell: 2 - He went crazy, only played in 20 EPL matches.
Ferdinand: 2 -
Thuram: 0 -

A-Team Selects goals total = 65 goals.

Etobicoke Juniors League goals:

Villa: 24
Totti: 15
Riquelme: 11
Mancini: 12
Ribery: 5
Mexs: 2
Krstajic: 2
Ayala: 2
Makelele:0
Mascherano: ? - but I'll say 0.

Etobicoke Juniors goals total = 73 goals.

Etobicoke Juniors not as skilled as A-Team Selects? Pfffftttt!!!!!!! Even without goal machine Huntelaar Etobicoke Juniors has the better offence.
