Result of the Friday August 10, 2012 CSL game between
SC Toronto and Kingston FC played at Lamport Stadium
in Toronto at 8:00pm.

7 min...KFC Vitaliy Sidorov GOAL...Sidorov receives
pass at 20 yards and takes low shot up middle to left
corner of net past goalie Scott Cliff.

11 min...SCT Jonathan Osorio GOAL...SCT Kyle Hall
rushes in for low shot on extreme left from 12 yards
and ball is past sprawling goalie Shane Lopez and hits
right post and rolls back for Osorio to shoot 6 yard
rebound from even with right post into low left side
of net past defender.

58 min...KFC Alex Campbell GOAL...KFC Ali Al-Badry
crosses from 30 yards on left and Campbell chests ball
down in middle at 18 yards, turns, and fires shot into
left side of net beyond flying goalie.

78 min...SCT Evroy Junior Ellis GOAL...SCT Jarek
Whiteman crosses from 15 yards on right into crowd
of players in the 6 yard box and and sliding
Ellis jabs 4 yarder into left side of net.

91 min...SCT Jonathan Osorio GOAL...SCT Kyle Hall makes
long run and passes to SCT Jarek Whiteman who rolls pass
from 15 yards from right through defender to a crowd of
players in the box. Osario as one of three SCT players
crowded into 6 yard box knocks in 3 yarder.

93 min...game ends.

Final Score:.....SC Toronto.....3.....Kingston FC.....2...

Attendance was about 50 on this mild evening after a day
of rain. The crowd grew to 100 by the end of the game
with permit holders waiting for their beer league to
start but this was the smallest crowd that I've seen for
SC Toronto this year.

The game started off quickly and I was expecting it might
end 5-5 after the early goals but both teams started
to find it tough to string passes together. SCT regained
their touch in the last 15 minutes and scored both the
tieing and winning goals. I estimate that in the final
10 minutes of the game SCT outchanced KFC 7 to 1 in
pressing for a winning goal.

Referee Rich Oliveira gave out three Yellow cards that
I counted all in the second half and didn't fall for
any Penalty kick calls for neither team.

This game was taped for the Rogers Community channel
game of the week and will be broadcast on Sunday at
8:00pm for Rogers TV customers in Toronto.

Tonight's result moves SC Toronto up to second place with
an 8-1-4 record. Kingston FC stays in 14th at 3-12-1.
SCT has one more game this weekend when they play on the
road against North York Astros.

Result of the Sunday August 12, 2012 CSL game between
York Region Shooters and Serbian White Eagles played
at St Joan of Arc CHS in Vaughan at 6:30pm.

48 min...SWE Sasa Vukoje GOAL...SWE Richard West receives
forward pass up left and sends low cross from 15 yards
near end line that goalie Emanuelle Ameltonios chases
but Vukoje on right blasts 6 yarder into open net.

92 min...YRS Ricky Herron GOAL...YRS Matthew O'Connor
takes throw-in from right that's knocked down in box
by defender (with claims for hand ball) but ball just
left unattended and Herron on right steps up and kicks
shot low to right side of net.

95 min...game ends.

Post game...YRS RED card...Ricky Herron is shown a Red
card by referee David Barrie for pushing his hand into
the face of a SWE player after both had gone to ground
in a pushing incident.

Final Score:....York Region Shooters......1......
Serbian White Eagles........1.......

Attendance was about 150 on this warm and cloudy day
although the temperature was cooling as the evening
set in.

Referee David Barrie gave out seven Yellow cards
(and one Red) that I counted starting at 43 minutes
with one card each for two separate instances
that were spotted by each referee's assistant.
A faked knockdown and a chop down off the ball
within seconds. SWE earned five of the Yellows
in a game that got rough.

Best scoring chances that didn't go in were
at 22 minutes when SWE Zoran Rajovic took a cornerkick
from the right that had SWE Vitomar Jelic header
from 8 yards bounce wide left of the net. 33 minutes
had YRS Darryl Gomez take a 35 yard freekick from the
right that the goalie missed punching away and
in a charging mass of players, a YRS player headed
over the net from 8 yards. 38 minutes had SWE
Rajovic and Richard West work a give and go down the
middle and West took a low blast from 25 yards that was
saved by the sprawling goalie and Rajovic followed up
on the rebound with a 20 yard shot that deflected off
a defender. 42 minutes had YRS Aundrae Rollins outrun
a defender on the left and rescue the ball on the end
line and tried to chip the goalie from 12 yards to
an open man waiting for a tap-in but the goalie
leapt and made an overhead catch. 89 minutes had
SWE Luka Maric get a flick twisting a header into the
middle for an open Richard West to take a quick
blast from 22 yards that the flying goalie palmed
over the net.

The tie moves the Shooters to a 6-1-8 record and keeps
them in 4th place. So many ties keeps them away from
the top spots because only one loss is tied with
Toronto Croatia and SC Toronto who are two of the
teams ahead of them in the standings. White Eagles
record is now 6-5-3 and they hold on to the last
playoff spot in 8th place.

Note: There was a game scheduled at Victoria Park
Stadium in Brampton between Brampton City United
and Mississauga Eagles at 3:00pm. I drove there
and found the parking lot almost empty and the wooden
doors chained shut. The game was cancelled due to
wet grounds. The field looked OK to me from a distance
but there has been a lot of rain in the last few
days after a summer of near drought. Over the years
City of Brampton has been very fussy about wear and
tear on their field and even cancelled a playoff game
back in the Brampton Stallions days.
