Got thinking about Hoillet again last night. Other than Javier Hernandez I think Hoillet would be the most talented striker in CONCACAF.

Sure could have used him last night

and its sickening/disrespectful for jonathan de guzman to wear Canada colours while talking up his pipe dream of playing for Holland at the same time

Hoilett's not a striker.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure the EPL's fourth-leading scorer would disagree with you.

Man, I think anyone who was in Montreal for 'that night' had to have been worried about last night.

Mission accomplished in the stands.

I was expecting a situation similar to the Ecuador match last night, with us owning the south end and the rest of the stadium comprised of quiet Canadians and loud away support.

It was much better than I expected. I didn't hear or see much Honduran support all night, though of course we couldn't hear much other than ourselves.

Great work on the ticket sales.

Jaimie deserves the order of Canada for his service to his country.

And duly noted on Dempsey....

Just don't think of him as an out and out striker probably as much as I should.

South end was awesome. Congrats on a great job Jamie.

Bobby was, as always, the Capo King and did a magnificent job as did all the supporters.

Hopefully the CSA will start to properly market these games and the upper deck will be filled next time. They can't keep relying on other people to sell their tickets for them.

It was much better than I expected. I didn't hear or see much Honduran support all night, though of course we couldn't hear much other than ourselves.

Great work on the ticket sales.

Really came across that way on TV too. The crowd came across as overwhelmingly supporting Canada, even with the Sportsnet shots of groups of Honduran fans. (I will also praise Sportsnet, however, for its commitment to the CMNT given that the US game at Guatemala was only available on PPV and dodgy webstreams).

Think of how far we've come in the past six years. Think back to Canada vs Chile in the 2007 U-20s, how we were a pocket of fans in the Northeast corner of the stadium. Think back to how there was virtually no coordination with the CSA on ticket sales. Think of how we had an audition for Jamaican Idol (under the guise of the Jamaican national anthem) prior to the match against Jamaica.

I was fully prepared for a repeat of the Montreal match in the stands last night and it didn't happen.

Support for the CMNT isn't going to change overnight. Despite a 100 year history and the 15 or so years that the V's have become a cohesive group, I would argue that the last six years have truly seen the birth of a supporters' culture for the CMNT, with a fair amount of credit due to TFC's supporters groups but also to the groups in Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, etc. Also, the efforts of Jamie (foremost) and others in building awareness for the Voyageurs cannot be underestimated in how far we have come over these past six years.

It is building and will continue to build. One day, somewhere down the road, we will have a sold-out and engaged pro-Canadian crowd in BMO. It may not even be in this qualitfying cycle. But it will happen.

(Interesting tweet last night from Jay Onrait from TSN who questioned whether the media bore some of the blame in not promoting the significance of these qualifying games for the support that is less than it could be. Interesting in part because TSN is the worst offender in ignoring out National teams. But also interesting because a member of the media (and a younger one) recognizes that the media has a role in helping this culture to build and that they haven't held up their end of the bargain. Hopefully he does what he can to change that.)
