Can we please, PLEASE get the rules clarified for the ball hitting the side basketball nets? Very few people seem to know the rule.
Personally, I'd like to see it changed to an all or nothing type thing, but I don't make the rules..... |

USIL Rules Rules 1. Basketball nets and the flat of the side back boards are live, as well as the corners unless obviously tampered with don't call dead ball. |

So how about the 1" or so side of the backboard. As long as it falls true, then it's live? That's how I understand it. I just feel it's so subjective, and there isn't enough understanding of the rule, that it should be all or nothing. |

the flat part would mimic the ball hitting the wall. Hitting the side has pretty much always been dead from what can remember.

People have been (wrongly) calling the ball dead when it hits the flat part of the backboard.

I don't think this rule needs to be clarified but rather just pointed out to people who dont seem to know. These are presumably the same people who won't see this thread.
This is where the captains earn their end of the year flask of rye. Make sure your players know what's what when it comes to dead balls. |

We made it this far with great captaining, great draft picking experience, knowledge of the league, good scouting for newbies(Serb Supreme) and Phenom presence, and its why were gonna take the league.....lol. im serious though were gonna take the league. |

Easy, Gino. The league's not even halfway done yet. A lot can happen between now and the end, and I think one or two of the clubs who have struggled will figure it out soon. P.S. I totally agree with your assessment on the captaining. :shiteatinggrin: |
