I just want to see that blown call against Canada at Varsity from May 1993, my first in-stadium experience with CONCACAF's inherent anti-Canadian bias.

The offside call on Hooper's goal? I remember it well.

I should have that - the tape should be at my parents place so I have to find it first, but it will be part of the "shit calls" montage for sure.....

Some new videos for you by (surprisingly) popular demand:

As requested, the Eddie Berdusco goal against Brazil (this was on youtube already via someone else, but even worse quality and with no sound) - note that newly- appointed TFC coach Nick Dasovic (then sporting a prog-rock haircut) is the first to congratulate Eddie:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckz6hzutukA

Carlo Corazzin's equalizer against Mexico in the 2000 Gold Cup (includes hiliarious clip of a lone Canadian fan nearly getting hit with some kind of white missile before he is attacked by one Mexican fan with a Vuvuzuela and another Mexican fan dressed like a bank teller):
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9pTq5URQaA

Richard Hastings' Golden Goal:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOLRnsZAT6w

NY Red Bulls' own Rafa Marquez kicks Carlo Corazzin in the balls while Luis Hernandez laughs (but guess who got the last laugh in this game, asshole!), and anyone who reads lips can see Pesch drop the f-bomb at the end:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5ulvIFS77Y

Garret Kusch deservedly destroys a Mexican player with a silly hairstyle:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4sHavY93kkc

The one advantage to having no fans in the stands is hearing some great Canadian soundbites - here's a couple from the Gold Cup semi-final, with Dobson & Lenarduzzi ceasing talking just in time to hear a couple of F-bombs dropped by Craig Forrest and Paul Peschisolido:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ux4f5mLMUCk

The winning goal from the Gold Cup Semi-Final that made Canada Concacaf Champions, put them in the final of the Gold Cup and qualified them for the 2001 Confederations Cup:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84iSRmpyZR4

The final moments of the Semi-Final match, post-match celebrations and a post-match interview with an emotional Craig Forrest:

This was the goal that caused me to nearly punch a hole through the ceiling of my apartment at the time. I'd been pacing in front of the tv and punched the air after momentarily forgetting that the ceiling there was only 6'6".

redhat at the V's board has posted the following:

Kevin McKenna scores a brace versus Haiti in the 2002 Gold Cup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q2KSQXgILks

A Korean (sweet) own goal and a DeRo strike give Canada a 2-1 win over South Korea in the 2002 Gold Cup: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0p8uoU3W50

The hilarious own goal by South Korea is also one I've got lined up to upload (its already been recorded), plus I'll be uploading another clip from that game featuring my all-time favourite f-bomb by a Canadian player (even better than Pesch's "I fucking would have stopped it for fuck's sake!!!!" from the 2000 Gold Cup semi-final that I've already uploaded).

I still don't think I've ever seen a team try harder to score on themselves than that particular South Korean team.

I guess this isn't the thread to post my clip of Andrea Lombardo scoring on Brazil in a U-20 friendly.

This is kind of video related...I have a newspaper photo clipping of Stalteri giving DeVos the finger from ~2000...just wondering if anyone recalls that ever making it on TV and if so, if someone has that recorded to share?

Cheers G-L!

Just curious, what technology are you using to capture these from VHS? I am getting rid of some of my old bulky tapes. I don't have a proper video capture mechanism, so I'm recording a stream from my Slingbox. The quality is a bit pooooor.

Hmmmm, actually I just now uploaded a quickie to Youtube and the quality seems decent. Likely because there's not much action happening.

Remember this classic? The First Advertisement for Toronto FC

The quality is less good with lots of action. e.g. the soccer clips in these Classic Hebsy Awards!

Your avatar constantly reminds me of the time Benito Archundia made my newborn baby cry. :ike:

He's never seen Daddy behave like that before or since.

Recording on a Toshiba DVD recorder I bought just before the summer's World Cup, then uploading the VOB files on youtube off the DVD. The quality of the recordings is fine, its the VHS which sucks, especially as I recorded in EP in the days of having a tiny tv. With a widescreen tv you really notice the difference.
