I believe Roma was banned for one year from making transfers, but I believe that had to do with missing payments for their Mexes transfer.

could not happen to a nicer guy than Roman Abramovich!
Glory hunting cunts! I hope Ashley Cole breaks his legs It'll be fun to see Chelsea struggle now that they'll have to rely on their academy instead of West Ham's to bring new boys into the club. This post has been edited by bgnewf on Sep 3 2009, 09:57 AM |

Of course tapping up players publically like Real Madrid and Barcelona do every fucking summer is all peaches and cream.
First Arsenal get singled out, now Chelsea...Liverpool and Man U should watch their ass. Man City too for that matter. |

Ummm... I guess this makes sense, but why not also issue the same restrictions to Man City??? Christ, FIFA and UEFA are making some ass-hat decisions as of late... <_<

This is awesome news!!! With that aging squad, they are in for a good time.
We all knew this was coming for them. They've been on probabtion since the Mikel incident, and with the way they handled that poofter Ashley Cole, they obviuosly needed their tactics checked. Maybe they can pay down some of that huge debt they accumulate year in and year out now. |

My guess is that they'll mount and complete a successful appeal before the upcoming January transfer window opens.

Eight hours later and it's still retarded.
I could see a one window ban and a heavy fine...two windows is ridiculously excessive. And I'll be damned if I trust FIFA to do a fair case. Again, why is nothing done about Real Madrid and Barcelona (among others) constantly naming players on other teams by name? WTF makes them so special? It's the arbritary nature of both this ruling and Eduardo's that pisses me off. Punish everyone or punish no one, but don't pick and choose based on what time of the month it is. |

Can't deny that the Arsenal fan in me is happy about the 2 window ban, but the football fan is crying foul play.
Andre's right, I can't take any FIFA ruling seriously nor can I support it when the only impetus for action seems to be when the media is barking for punishment. Anything less than absolute furor is swept under the rug. Honestly, I hope the appeal goes Chelsea's way, and they rub it in by spending 30 million pounds in their next available window, just for a little extra burn. |

I am a Gooner And I support the ban on Eduardo, along with the Chelsea decision. However I only support them going forward if this is the kind of thing they do to clean up the sport. Unless they are consistent in applying this kinfs of justice going forward equitably what is the point? |
