Missed this amidst all the doom and gloom around here, but its yet another symptom of why TFC took off in T.O. Please use this on Big Soccer as you see fit....
http://www.insidetoronto.com/sports/articl...orld-cup-anthem and the actual song..... meh.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ME3UicDqWTc |

So sick.. Like the Original version better... better yet the first version.. Just 2 or so years ago he played a free show outdoors at the hummingbird centre, maybe 100 people or so and the raw version he did of this song, so good, the best version for sure(boy's got heartt).
So stoked, I've heard (from Jonan) that he's pretty big in at least East Africa, so makes sense, but he's also reppin' the T dot and canada which is awesome.(except that we don't have a team there to rep us) Someone get him a shirt indeed, I've always dreamed of A K'naan/TFC Corroboration(Since at that concert he was wearing the same LRG sweater I saw Jimmy B wearing once haha). The la la la la laaaa's in Somalia could make for a good chant aswell.. But i may be a bit delusional. |

Saw him with Jimmy Dagher (Dagger on the boards)...
like the original version better too This is Coca-Cola's WC anthem though, right? not a FIFA anthem or anything... the only "official" WC song I remember (I actually don't even know if it was official or not), was for France 98 Youssou N'Dour et Axelle Red - La cour des grands http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SB7di2SPwWk This post has been edited by morrison on Nov 2 2009, 10:04 PM |

First Nelly Furtado in Euro '04, now K'Naan in WC2010. Very Nice Canada!

Well we had this arguement before (Gianluca? :P ) but Id rate Canadian pop music definately in top ten (id say probably closer to top three) in the world from a popularity POV (esp female singers, including Ms Furtado)... the football, maybe not quite so high.... |
