I'll end up watching highlights as I missed all 4 matches live.
I was dissapointed that Atlas failed to make the Liguilla by 1 point.
they were kept to a 1-1 draw on the last day of the Clausura 2010, although they're calling it the Bicentenario 2010... not sure if that if they'll just call the Apertura 2010 the same thing.

sorta glad that Chivas lost, but all they need is to win by 2 goals at home next saturday, which they are capable of doing, and then they'll go through to the semis due to their higher seed.
They'll be able to rest players midweek as well due to their 3-0 win the the 1st leg of the Round of 16 in the Copa Libertadores against Velez Sarsfield. Although they might want to push for 1 away goal to absolutely secure the tie, forcing Velez to score 4 goals minimum, instead of resting everyone.
Their participation in the Copa Libertadores has and would hinder their chances in the Liguilla if they progress further.

MLSE should get this league on GOL instead of some of the other shite leagues they put on there. I personally find these games better to watch than the Columbian league, the Argies, and even Bundesliga.

I agree in regards to Colombian league.

Love that the Bundesliga is available, and I've got to say, Argentinian league would be quite something, but it's stuck on Fox Sports World Canada (as far as I know).

I'd like it if GolTv picked up the Mexican league and Argentinian league.
I don't think there's any problem in Canada, but since the Colombian league is basically just the same feed as GolTV USA out of Florida, I think the Mexican League is a no-go as it's already available down in the US on other channels.
GolTV Canada on its own probably wouldn't bother.

What i'd like to know is who has Copa Libertadores rights in the US, if that's available I'd like to see GolTV in the US pick it up, that way we up here can possibly piggy back off that.

which brings them tied for 2nd with América in overall Mexican titles with 10 (though that includes titles won back when the season was 1 championship instead of the 2 now).
though Toluca has mainly won the half-season titles in more recent years.

a good match-up in the cuartos.

1. Cruz Azul against 8. Pumas UNAM

2. Monterrey against 7. Pachuca should also be interesting

the other two match-ups are
3. Santos Laguna vs. 6. Jaguares de Chiapas
4. América vs. 5. San Luis

as far as I can tell, they have done away with the January Copa Libertadores qualifying tournament, usually hosted in the US, and just base it on the best 3 teams in the Apertura table.
But because #1-3 are in the CONCACAF Champs League Quarterfinals (the 4th beying Toluca), it goes to the next best 3 positions.
(I guess with more depth the CCL hasn't really impacted the mexican teams in the tournament).

So Club América, San Luis and Jaguares de Chiapas will be in the 2011 Copa Lib.

anyone interested here are the matches for the Cuartos de Final, all times Toronto

Wed Nov 17, 8pm - San Luis vs. América
Wed Nov 17, 10pm - UNAM vs. Cruz Azul
Thu Nov 18, 7pm - Pachuca vs. Monterrey
Thu Nov 18, 9pm - Jaguares de Chiapas vs. Santos Laguna

Vuelta:
Sat Nov 20, 6pm - Cruz Azul vs. UNAM
Sat Nov 20, 8pm - América vs. San Luis

They're into playoffs already??? Didn't their season just start in August? I know they do the aputera/clausara thing but this just seems bizarre. I definately do not understand Mexican football.

Yup , 17 games for the Apertura .. top two teams in each group , then the next two best teams after that in an eight team quarterfinal , then to a 4 team semifinal, and a final. Quarters are "tie" format in two-leg aggregate-score . B-)
Fuk yea I love betting on Mexican footie  , always lots of action .

After the Apertura/ Clausura one team is promoted and one relegated , last season it was Necaxa up and Indios Juarez down .
