Coach Dale Mitchell has mixed some new faces in with veterans for Canada's Nov. 19 World Cup qualifying match against Jamaica.

Captain Paul Stalteri will earn his 74th cap, third most in Canadian Soccer Association history, in the match to be played in Kingston. Among the new faces will be Simeon Jackson, who is making his debut with the national team, and former Canadian u-20 players of the year David Edgar and Asmir Begovic.

Canada, which has an 0-3-2 record in CONCACAF qualifying, has already been eliminated from participating at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Canada drew 1-1 Aug. 20 against Jamaica.

Canada will arrive in Jamaica on Sunday and begin training on Monday.

I can't believe there aren't quotation marks around "tweaks" in the headline of that Globe article. It thought it was meant to be a sarcastic headline as there's about 15 players missing from the team!

In addition to the six injured/suspended players listed, you can add DeRo, Friend, Atiba, Gerba, McKenna, Hastings as all missing players called from the last two games. Wagenaar as well I suppose. Then add Imhof, Brennan, Sutton and Simpson (the latter still not recovered) and you've got 17 players missing from the line-up - one shy of a full roster. And that's not even including Onstad or Jazic. That's an interesting definition of "tweak"!

Good to see Edgar and Jackson get senior call-ups. And Jackson's in the line-up for Gillingham today, back from his ankle (?) injury, so he should be good to go.

I was trying to find the same thing out. Sportsnet and CBC and CBC Bold are not apparently covering it.

I suppose there will be web links later but it looks like no TV
