TORONTO (CP) - The Toronto Lynx lost 2-0 to the Rochester Raging Rhinos in their United Soccer League home opener Saturday, while Deana Everett scored five goals to lead to the Lady Lynx to a 7-0 win over Rochester in their season opener.

Mathew Delicate scored for Rochester in the 15th minute of the men's game at Centennial Stadium, on a header that beat Lynx 'keeper Theo Zagar from close range.

The Lynx were down to 10 men for the second half after Matt Palleschi received a red card for a tackle on Juninho. Rochester made it 2-0 in the 66th minute when John Ball connected on a pass in front of the net that bounced off the crossbar as it sailed into the net.

Catharine Marosszeky and Sylvia Forbes scored the other two goals for the Lady Lynx, who outshot Rochester 22-6.

man thats what happend, I was quite intoxicated... Good times all 'round, except for the scoreline. Also, on thet red card tackle, Rochester coaches/staff ran onto the field to confron Pelleschi, causeing a nice bust-up. :wacko:

It was a good time, and although I can't se myself going back to too many Lynx games (if any), I am intrigued by the Rochester road trip possibility.

Huffman, Palleschi, Antsey. Im not sure if anyone else has played forward?? could be missing one.
I know Huff played forward in the Serbia game, or at leat a very attacking position.

Forwards- Palleschi, Diplacido is playing a high position, Sheppard, ANDRE Brasilian, Huffman, thats it and those guys arent even taller than 5 11.. small forwards....

As for Saturdays game... I thought Titus, Arango, Williams, Palleschi, had very good games .... Titus was solid at the back, While Arango and Williams were combining well in the first half on the right side to get some dangerous crosses in, Palleschi worked hard up there on his own .. The lynx need to be more of a threat going forward... ONE MORE STRIKER IS BADLY NEEDED!! I heard the Kevin Jeffries chant is this true??

Not sure, all we know is that Rocket Robin a usl reporter has been saying a USL allstar is having trouble signing with the lynx due to work permits or whatever.... so he seems to be the only usl allstar not playing right now... unless its onandi lowe

I can assure you, it's Jeffreys/Jefferies. He's already signed, just literally hasn't showed up yet. It's apparently creating a bit of discomfort in the dressing room too, they know how badly they need him.
