one more day and this is going to get real! super pumped for this match (well not the start time) and cant wait to get 3pts on the road with all the support we got down there in Cuba...
I for one will be more glued to the Canada games then the Euro's as my Swiss team didn't qualify and therefore I can give 113% support to our Canadian team
roue glad you boys are having a wicked time in Cuba... just remember they are really nice people but come Friday they are the enemy :kungfu:
Breakwood - June 7, 2012 03:50 PM (GMT)
How many people are going to the Duke for this? Euro match follwed by Canada?
broton - June 8, 2012 12:20 PM (GMT)
At work today. But my flag is still flying.
C'mon You Reds! Total Destruction! 3points!

I'm expecting a good crowd. We had about 20 for the Armenia friendly so there should be a lot more than that today, right?
Metro - June 8, 2012 03:18 PM (GMT)
I am excited about Greece, nervous as hell about Canada.
Good luck Canada, let's get those 3 points!!

38 Ricketts gets into a good position in Cuba's half and his shot from a tough angle goes high and wide.
rick.gladwin - June 8, 2012 06:47 PM (GMT)
Decent play so far from Hoolian DeGuzman. (Currently watching the Spanglophone stream :) )
edit: p.s. every time I watch a match that takes place in a stadium where vuvuzelas or horns are allowed, I thank Gord that MLSE made the right call and banned them at BMO. There would be fights, I tells ya. Toronto emergency rooms would have to deal with at least one case of "acute vuvuzanular obstruction".
RexdaleTaxiFC - June 8, 2012 06:51 PM (GMT)
45 Great chance for Canada! De Rosario hits the crossbar from inside the box! Head coach Stephen Hart can't believe he missed!

On the positive side, this Cuba side is almost as shite as their pitch.
And you are right about the Vuvuzelas. Damn whoever invented those things. He should be in Hell listening to a stadium full of those fuckers ripping for all eternity.

True that.
Also: so that pitch really is as shit as it looks on my stream? I thought maybe those were jpeg artifacts.
...GOOOOOOAAALLL!

10 men, eh? On the upside: if the CMNT is anything like TFC, our odds of winning just went up! ;)
Also: I was considering making my 1000th post on these boards something memorable and special, and I just noticed that it happened on its own - that last post included this:
:D

That red card blew my mind. I am only coming around now.
What a fucking bonering that was.

An odd interpretation of the letter of the rules, at the very least.
Deliberate handling? ...yes... essentially...
Prevented a clear goal-scoring opportunity? yes, probably.
But that's not a red card situation. It was a close call involving the keeper. Is anyone watching a stream/coverage with a better angle? Was it for sure outside the box?
Also: interesting to see the homer linesmen doing their thing now that the game is in Cuba's reach. DeRo's foul in the corner: (shoulder bump)... (Cuban striker takes three steps)... (dive)... FOUL!! Priceless.

That was just about a perfect road win for Canada.
Lars added just enough adversity fo the boys for them in retrospect to really be able to look back on the match and realize that they are a GOOD TEAM who can come through adversity and tough situations together and get results!
