Attendance was about 100 with many of the people players
and parents of a Brams United girls team who played a
mini-game at halftime.
It looked like the Lady Lynx would run away with this game
until the Cometes equalizer but they had problems putting
away their chances.
Best non-scoring chances were at 32 minutes when TLL Cloe
Lacasse ran on the left, stopped to roll a pass to TLL Maxine
Murchie who slipped up on her kick from 16 yards and the
ball trickles to the goalie. 34 min had Lacasse on a
2 on 1 rush pass to Murchie who stopped and her clear
shot from 20 yards was over the sliding goalie but wide
right of the post. At 41 minutes LC Caroline Beaulhe
took a 15 yard shot from the right that was stopped and LC
Martha Bakauska Matthew dove for a 5 yarder but was also
stopped. The second half started and within the first minute
LC Veronique Laverdiere took a 15 yard shot from the right
that had the goalie swat the ball wide right of the post.
59 minutes LC Caroline Beaulhe crossed from the right after
run and the ball bounced into the box where LC Martha
Bakauska Matthew one-touched a shot over the net from
7 yards. 76 minutes had TLL Kinley McNicholl roll a 15 yarder
past the goalie but the retreating defender Vanessa Legault
Cordisco on the left boots a ball wide right of the net
to prevent a tap-in by a TLL player. 85 minutes had TLL
McNicholl get a through ball pass and her 25 yard shot
was past the goalie but rolled wide right of the post.
91 minutes had TLL Shelina Zadorski take a 35 yard freekick
from the left that had a player head the ball down and TLL
Kodee Williams set up a pass to Zadorski charging in and
her 20 yard shot was just wide right of the post.
Referee Armando Pereira game out three Yellow cards and
all of them to Lady Lynx players.
Cometes had played in London 24 hours earlier and earned
a 0-0 tie. Their record is two ties in this young season.
Lady Lynx record is one win, one tie with both results
being home games. After a road game on Wednesday in
Rochester, their next home game is this Sunday
(June 3rd) at 4:00pm against Hamilton.
