I will be there.
How do I say "Fuck Montreal" en Francais?

I am thinking of bringing them a fresh bag of ready-mix concrete from Ontario, help them fix up the joint and a couple overpasses, a nice peace offering.

I'll actually be in Montreal this weekend. Might as well go see a football match with you fellas.

Oh, and I appear to have tickets. It'd be a damn shame for these to go to waste.

Sochaux - April 7, 2012 12:20 PM (GMT)
At least the MLS recognizes that THIS is the rivalry for Toronto FC and not that manufactured Columbus one.

http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/article/2012...iercest-rivalry

Rivalries are organically and naturally positioned not economically-politically created.........do you hear that Paul ???????? Damn, I even have to look at a map every time they mention the Trillium Cup just to find out where that shithole is located.

Fuck Montréal.......

So I just got to the designated parking lot next to the cheese stadium, and there's nobody here (except for several hundred parents with their toddlers ready to go to some event at the biodome.)

Wheres everyone meeting up?

Terrible giveaway by Dunfield.

I'm watching Johnson closer but I'm still not being convinced that he's an AM. As CEO has said, he's good at running the ball to the touchline, but really, I don't know what good that really does. Where is Silva or Avila?

Dunfield put DJG into trouble with his initial pass, then JDG gave him a decent pass back...fully Dunfields error.

But also Kocic had poor positioning, he was way too far out of his net for no good reason.

Johnson is doing well, as is Soolsma. RJ is doing well holding the ball up in midfield and wings, but isnt getting much help from Plata, who is losing the ball alot. I think We will see Avila and Lambe second half.

But overall a really hideously ugly match so far. I cant stand watching games on plastic, there is no fluency to the game, and montreal is just lobbing long balls down the field. Ugh, no sense of posession. Just hope we can nick a goal and get out of there with a result. Not really impressed with Montreal, we should be able to get a goal with a little luck.

To be fair, Montreal are pretty quick on the counter too. But their defence can certainly be got at, even if Ricketts is a beast.

Alright, Silva coming on. Now it's your turn CEO. Watch how Silva pulls the strings in attack. Johnson's natural inclination is to play along the perimeter. He's just not well suited to being an attacking midfielder.

Agree......Johnson is not a AMC but versatile left (first) then right Attacking midfielder.

Silva is a true AMC.

Sochaux - April 7, 2012 05:32 PM (GMT)
In addition, Koevermans may be too slow, at his age, for this league.

Sochaux - April 7, 2012 05:39 PM (GMT)
:suicide:

Emroy with a red card.

Milky - April 7, 2012 05:40 PM (GMT)
Koevs is ok. He had almost a goal per game ratio last year. If he hits form again he'll be bagging goals. He's strong enough and intelligent enough to stay play a role even when he's not scoring, too.

Well, as if Montreal haven't been dicking us enough in possession... red card. Right call though. Logan is unlucky but he's played another good game, apart from his constant attempt to play the killer ball. But he's always a target in the air.

Silva was already making a difference before the sending off. Just his little touches, flick-ons, and his passes bringing teammates into the game. Great stuff!

Hmmm.... TFC seem to have the bit between their teeth now that they're a man down. I guess better late than never!

Kocic<Frei. Harden+ Dunfield = losing season

Noone on this team cares about winning.

Johnson did well throughout the match. Silva did as well. Yes, Johnson goes to the outside at times, although that doesnt mean that's his "natrual inclincation".

I think you are having selective memory, as well as making a large sweeping conclusion based on your preception of what you think RJ "prefers". If you go back and watch the match, look at Johnsons work around the box. Off the top of my head he had 2 or three chances where he held the ball up and beat 2 men to turn, but unfortunately had his shots blocked, the latest time led to their second goal unfortunately. Yes he also had good stints near the wing putting in crosses, but like I said before, we have wingers who can do that just as well. Johnson needs to be around the box to score, he is a goalscorer first and foremost.

Again, why are we even talking about Attacking Midfielders??, our attack is doing fine, and is not the problem right now. We continue to make SUICIDAL and NEEDLESS defensive errors.

Kocic was too far out on both goals. Harden should have cleared rather than trying to do a back heel flick towards the centre. Dunfield boggled for the first goal.

I disagree on both your previous statements. You can't be too negative about one match, and shouldnt overgeneralize. I think agian tho we need to be more solid at the back. Its obvious that Frings is the answer.

BarmyArmy - April 7, 2012 06:45 PM (GMT)
Dunfield only showed signs of anything looking like professional football this season vs. Santos at home.

Harden has been bush league all season.

I was a Dunfield guy last season but now I feel he has been exposed as a fraud without Frings to tell him how to play or even better keep him off the pitch.

Harden at times looks as if he doesn't even know the basics of playing defense in soccer. Unacceptable in any pro league.

Kocic has allowed soft goals the last 3 games.

I guess outside of Plata, Soolsma, Silva and possibly Danny K there is a serious lack of testicular fortitude on this team.

Depressing.

DistilledNick - April 7, 2012 06:49 PM (GMT)
Harden again exposed. This time it was for pace. The actual touch that gifted Wenger the shot I can understand the idea behind, it was just executed horribly.

Agree that Dunfield was poor.

My biggest issue to day was that throughout the whole team there seemed to be a reluctance to win balls that were there to be won, or chase anything down. Montreal seemed to get to everything first. If we're gonna pin that on anything then I suppose it would probably be fatigue from playing Wedneday night then the journey to Montreal. De Vos mentioned in the commentary how the travelling can affect players in this league.

You are right about Johnson's chances, but that is precisely the problem. He is most dangerous around the box or crossing/cutting in from the wing. In other words, he's a natural forward. I will agree with you about our defence, though, because it is also an area of concern. We have looked disorganized in the absence of Frings. I also wonder why we didn't show the type of initiative that we showed once we were down to ten men? Hopefully next week we start strong. And hopefully we start Silva in the middle of the park with Johnson in his natural position. ;)
