Title: Georgio Chinaglia dead at 65

Giorgio Chinaglia was a marvel in the NASL. In league and play-off matches, he scored 242 goals in 254 games. In 1980, he scored 50 including a seven goal game.

He was the consummate finisher. He never seemed to waste an opportunity. He'd score the garbage goals, he'd make good goals look ordinary and great goals look great!

Yes, he was known as much for his arrogance as his quality of play but one can only admire his on-field accomplishments.

Here are a few video's to look at.

So young and dead? RIP. Life is too short.

18 goals in 7 playoff games? insane. I remember him as part of the NY powerhouse, but I don't think those games were ever on my tv, but I could be wrong about that. The Globe (at the time the biggest Toronto paper I believe) did have regular updates and info though which was good.

I never saw him play, but was a big fan of his insight on The Football Show on Sirius radio. Listened nearly every day. He had a great personality which really came through on the radio and just seemed like a nice man in general. I, like many am sincerely going to miss hearing his voice. May he rest in peace.
