Sweet, Donovan won't be there this sat ;)

AgainstSteve - June 23, 2010 04:01 PM (GMT)
Donovan is crying.

TFCtoMUFC - June 23, 2010 04:02 PM (GMT)
So did the US win the group? If so this is great for England. As long as Germany doesn't win tomorrow, England is sitting pretty.

busanbhoy - June 23, 2010 04:04 PM (GMT)
I think the 02 re-match would be a cracker.

No Hugh Dallas and we may have a fair game...

ontarioiron - June 23, 2010 04:10 PM (GMT)
Joe Cole should be starting :P
Wayne Rooneys form cost them the top of group today... fucking Manc :P

Well, its good if you want to play Argentina in the quarters....

Of course, England would have to get there first.

Its still early, but the side of the bracket that the USA has ended up on by finishing top of their group is starting to look like the easier side to be on.

Kirkronic - June 23, 2010 04:39 PM (GMT)
What a relief. would have liked to have seen that Rooney post go in, but the keeper made a good save. Hope he is fit for sunday. A much better game to watch than their first 2

Never, ever, in a million years did I EVER think i would want to see an American international sports team do well... but i'm glad they won (dont tell anyone i said that) and in heroic fashion. Have only seen the highlights of that one. It sucks that they finished above England now... makes that Green goal even more of a slap in the face

Ryan Keay - June 23, 2010 04:40 PM (GMT)
Anyone else thinking that this US might have a bit of destiny on its side? Barring the Germans coming second (which is pretty unlikely), their potential lead-in to the semi's features a lot of games that they really could win.

Germany will problably win their group and will play England. The winner of that match gets Mexico/Argentina winner.

EDIT: I was just thinking hte same thing Ryan

What would that be?

Serbia/Ghana/Oz then Urgay?

Who does the semi line up with?

Brazil/Holland?

Yup, exactly (or South Korea). But yeah, it gets messy once you hit the semis.

a thousand curses for that nonsense in the brackets! (Though Ki SeongYeong can survive the slaughter and i'd be ok with it)

so we are looking at a semi finalist from Uruguay, South Korea , USA and either (Ghana, Serbia, Australia or (Germany if they finish second)) Right?

Well aside from just that sitter today Im thinking how is it a man , a striker no less, who averages almost a goal every other game for club and country (except in the WC) managed to have acquired more red cards than he has goals in what is it now, seven matches at the World Cup...

Crouch , Gerrard a few times, Joe Cole, Beckham Esq, even a Paraguayan defender and now Defoe but no fucking Roooney

Lampards next....

Awful reffing at the end of the U.S. game.

First, he books Beasley for what just as easily could have been his chest as arm and then he gives a second yellow to the WRONG Algerian and sends him off. The worst part is that he turns away from the Algerians and then when he turns back around just books the first guy he sees... terrible. He should be Graham Polled immeadiately.

ColinTFC - June 24, 2010 01:59 AM (GMT)
And if you aren't already supporting the 3 Lions and England then you should be...

Drinking beer before the matches.

That's how we roll.

Can't wait until Sunday morning!
