The First Gym (oh Noez.), 8D I SUCK AT TITLES

[Mitri]

Mitri stared up at the gym for a quick moment, excitement burning in her stomach, she fidgeted, how would it go? Would her team listen to her this time? Or would she be humiliated at the first gym? Forcing the doubts from her, she strode inside with a rather choked, "Hello?"

((*blames writers block*))

[Sparx]

The lights in the gym flickered on, and on the opposite side of the gym, a young girl walked out. She wore a sea blue two-piece bathing suit, with her pokeballs attached to the bottom piece. Her beach blonde hair was clipped to the back of her head, hazel eyes shining brightly as the sparkling water of her pools. Mizu stood tall and proud, looking exactly as a gym leader should.

"Can I help you?" She asked in her Southern accent, cracking her fingers.

James beamed at Mitri's feet. This was so cool! Of course, he didn't want to draw attention by telling Mitri so. Instead, he sat down and waiting for the action to begin. How awesome would this be! And soon, he would be strong enough to take on a gym!

[Mitri]

Mitri jumped at the sudden light, but straightened to look at the Gym Leader. "Actually yes..." Excitement burned within her, but so did doubt, would her team ACTUALLY listen? Or would they be complete and utter goofballs?

Whatever the case, she knew Bonkers would definately be a screwball.

"I was looking to challenge the Gym Leader." She stood up straight, and added, "Would that be you?"

[Sparx]

Mizu smiled. "Yup, that's me. Are you sure you're ready to challenge me? If so, the rules are as follows. It'll be a three-on-three single match, and you are allowed to switch your pokemon out if you want to- but you can only use three."

[Mitri]

"I'm ready." Mitri insisted, or at least... She hoped she was, what happened if she lost and was sent back to the Pokemon Center? But she couldn't let THAT stop her, she'd try her best! Attention dragging back to the real world, she nodded, "Sounds good!" She chimed, her first 3 choices would definately be Bonkers, Diablo, and Jupiter, though she had doubts of leaving out Hoku, but even SHE knew he didn't have much of a chance.

[Sparx]

"Very well," Said Mizu. "I'll choose first- Squirtle!" She quickly snatched the first pokeball from her bathing suit, tossing it up. In midair, the pokeball cracked open and released the pokemon inside in a flash of brilliant red light.
A Squirtle formed in front of its trainer, ready to battle.
"Your turn,"

[Mitri]

Mitri nodded, and snatched Bonkers' pokeball, watching the Squirtle form, it looked so professional, swallowing her doubt, she tossed the ball into the air. The red beam eventually formed into the small Wooper, who in turn, began to dance around, tail slapping repeatedly on the ground.

As she caught the ball, she gave a sigh, this was going to be a long battle.

Bonkers continued to hop up and down, only to stop and greet the Squirtle with a happy cry.

[Sparx]

Mizu and Squirtle tried to keep themselves from giggling as the Wooper started to dance. Squirtle couldn't help but crack up when Bonkers greeted him. Surely this trainer couldn't be serious!

James smiled encouragingly up at Mitri, but a big line of sweat ran down the side of his head. She expected to win with that crazy Wooper? Wow! She hadn't been lying about having a crazy team.

"Squirtle!" Mizu called. Squirtle smiled, pulling back into a ready stance. "Water Gun!" Instead of shooting a stream of water, however, Squirtle nodded and leqapt forward. He dived into the big pool before him, swimming forward with great speed. Upon reaching Mitri's end of the pool, the turtle pokemon shot up and shot his Water Gun at Bonkers from a close range.

[Mitri]

Mitri slapped her forehead, and gave a mutter of, "Dear lord, kill me now." The Gymleader AND her pokemon was laughing at them, could it get any worse? She didn't even DARE think of what might happen at the next gym.

Lifting her eyes to the battlefield, she caught the last of Mizu's words, and ordered swiftly, "Bonkers, dodge it!" In a serious tone, though the Wooper only sat there and giggled, but as the Squirtle reappeared, the little creature leapt into the air, and shot its own water gun at her opponent.

"No I-Oh nevermind." Mitri huffed a sigh, what was the point when your own pokemon couldn't even take 5 seconds to listen to you?

[Sparx]

As the Water Gun splattered on Squirtle's shell, he began to gigle again, dropping back into the water without a splash.

"Bite!" Was Mizu's next order. Squirtle must have heard from under water, as he leapt out and tried to clamp his jaws on Bonkers' body.

[Mitri]

Bonkers landed with a stumble back on the ground, then shook her head with an odd cry, "BRRRRRRRMPH!"

Mitri gave a panicked look, bite? It was using BITE? "Counter it with slam!" She ordered, but was she actually doing the right thing?

Bonkers whipped around to land a slam on the Squirtle's forehead, but proved to be too slow with the attack, the Wooper gave a cry as its jaws clamped around her, and she began to shoot mud at it, a vein popping in the water fish pokemon's head.

[Sparx]

Squirtle winced as mud splashed across his face, blinding him. He cried out, releasing Bonkers.

"Get back itno the water!" Directed Mizu, watching with a satisfied smirk as her pokemon backflipped into the pool. "Now- wait,"

[Mitri]

Bonkers, as soon as she was released, began to jump up and down in a gigglefit, while Mitri scoffed. "Can't you listen for just ONE second?"

The little Wooper ignored her trainer, and took a risk, peering down into the water, she blinked several times, before leaping in and diving into it.

"Crrrap." Was the few words Mitri muttered.

[Sparx]

Squirtle grinned as Bonkers dropped into the water. Without waiting for a command, the turtle pokemon knew what to do. He shot through the water like a missle, heading for his foe with his head down in a type of underwater headbutt.

[Mitri]

Bonkers blinked at the Squirtle in confusion, then swung her tail around in a slam to counter attack its underwater headbutt.

Mitri bit her tongue, well, this wasn't going as planned.
