Title: Scream, Aim, Fire!

Sparx - July 20, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Fuck this battlefield,
The bullets tear around me,
Bodies falling,
Voices calling for me,
Limbs are flying,
Men are crying,
Such a hurtful sight,
The call is made,
Its one for all
Take no prisoners!

[dohtml]<blockquote>

Who the hell names a city "Garnet"?<br><br>

A dark figure slowly walked through the shadows of the city, head lowered so that an even darker shadow fell across the person's face. To further disguise themself, they wore their long, blonde hair down so that their chin-length bangs fell over either side of their face and hid their eyes. A black coat, covered the mysterious figure's body, flapping around the person's heels as they walked. No, the person seemed to be having trouble walking- they were definately limping. Only slightly, but enough to be noticed at a distance.<br><br>

Genna Elk felt glad that this was the only thing that she could not somehow disguise. Big deal; loads of people limped. For all the idiots in this city knew, she tripped in Sapphire Forest and twisted her leg. They'd be close enough, really- they'd just be forgetting the damn bullets and the real location. Who cares? Either way, nobody would recognize her. Not with her long coat buttoned up around her torso so that none of her ghostly pale skin would show, and her bangs covering her bright scarlet eyes and scar. The only flaw in this cover was that she could not see any obstacles that might lay before her while she stared blankly at the cement sidewalk.<br><br>

Oops.<br><br>

So far, however, nothing had gotten in Genna's way. Nothing living, anyway. That bench a few miles back received what it deserved, however. Fortunately, no passerbys noticed the burnt hunk of wood and metal while the hybridmorph still lurked close enough to be accused of damaging it. Maybe she should try and be less reckless. Maybe not. Right now, reckless sounded all too appealing. However, she could not make up her mind... A smirk played on her lips as she thought of her options. What could she do to make the people in this city break down? Not in the mood for being inconspicuos, Genna tried to think big. Maybe she could destroy something? A big building? Her pokemon could use some fresh air- maybe Dragonfire and Legolas would aid in the burning of a large structure. <i>Nah,</i> She decided. Too boring. Genna needed a big thrill right about now. After all, no annoying voice spoke to her mind anymore. She was conscience-free at last!<br><br>

<i>Murder.</i> How that word sent shivers down her spine... She liked it. Not just the exciting ring of the word, but the idea of carrying the verb out. Yes, she would kill somebody today! What a wonderful idea... Genna forced herself from cackling at the brilliance of it. How better to restart her spread of misery, than a murder?<br><br>

The only issue would be... Who? Obviously, just some random Joe. Genna wasn't acquainted with anybody in Garnet. <i>Hmmmm...</i> A solution came to her quickly. Though a bit risky (what if someone recognized her voice?), the morph didn't care. The idea of a thrill tempted her too much. She'd just have to sound less raspy and more innocent. She decided to give it a try.<br><br>

<b>"Jeez! Doesn't anybody here want to battle?"</b>
</blockquote>[/dohtml]

Ira - July 21, 2008 12:36 PM (GMT)
A rather silent figure had been watching Genna for a long time, although he hadn't seen her go overkill on the the bench. In fact, a long time for him was actually about five minutes due to a short attention span.

His dusty blue jeans and t-shirt made the eighteen year old boy rather inconspicuous in a crowd, but there were a couple of things about him that stood out. For one thing, all the dusky blonde-brown hair infront of his ears was chin-length, whilst the hair behind his ears fell to the nape of his neck and was tied into a very messy ponytail. Aside from that, he had a rather blank face, which attracted a great deal of attention from people he passed. He looked neither feminine or masculine, so combined with his hair, it was hard to tell whether he was a girl or a boy...until he spoke.

"Why all the fuss? What's with the noise? Take it easy. Someone will battle you if you challenge the quietly, you don't have to shout!" came the rather deep voice. Well, too deep for a girl anyway. He sounded quite sarcastic, and his hands were out to either side, palms up. His slate blue eyes regarded Genna with quizical interest.

Sparx - July 21, 2008 12:56 PM (GMT)
Genna nearly jumped at the quick responce, though quickly regained her cool and flicked her crimson eyes in the new arrival's direction. Alright, now was the time to decide how far she was gonna take her disguise. Well... As much as she hated to do so, she could probably pass herself off as a young teenage boy for now. After all, her coat hid all of her feminine features, and she was pretty sure someone could take her voice either way. Might as well give it a shot- deceiving this guy would add to the fun.

"I didn't shout, maybe you're just hearing too loud." The morph replied with a smirk, turning to face the kid. She was careful to lift her head slowly, so that her bangs would still cover her scar. This time, however, she wouldn't be able to hide her odd eye colour. Maybe she could pass off as a hybrid, too. A fifteen year-old boy who happens to be a... Grovyle hybrid. Something.

"I assume you're going to accept my challenge, then?"

Ira - July 21, 2008 01:03 PM (GMT)
The boy smirked slightly at the hearing too loudly comment. How could you hear too loudly? Did that phrase even make sense. The thinking hurt his brain....

He was suddenly reminded of the time that he and Danielle had chased that Pidgey around the hall, trying to get it outside. When it had gone outside, it came back in and flew around again. They'd been running after it for ages, until it finally landed in the middle of the room and just walked out.....

He snapped back to the present. "Face some little puppy? Sure," the boy replied, cocking his head to one side. "This should be fun!"

Sparx - July 21, 2008 01:12 PM (GMT)
"Face some little what?" Genna demanded suddenly, a large vein popping in her forhead. A manic smirk spread across her face. Don't overreact, though, She reminded herself, breathing a heavy sigh. Oh yeah, this guy was going down. But Genna wanted to manage a battle before killing the guy.
Still, he was definately going to die for that remark.

"We'll see about that, though. I'm sure you'll find that if I'm that, you must be a newborn kitten." Namecalling wasn't all that fun, but still. She needed some sort of witty comeback before promptly kicking this guy's sorry, no-good arse. Resting a hand on her belt, she waited for the jerk's responce.

Ira - July 21, 2008 01:15 PM (GMT)
The boy actually laughed. "Well, puppy-girl, cats are solely carnivorous, whereas dogs can eat plants..." he said, staring into space for a moment. "Now, did you want that battle or not? I feel like digging my claws and teeth into something. Battling puppies is actually quite fun!"

Sparx - July 21, 2008 01:40 PM (GMT)
Genna could almost hear herself snap.

"Who're you calling a weakling puppy with no chance of winning, you jerk!?" The morph cried, reached out to grab the bastard by the front of his shirt and pull him down to her level. Whether or not she got a grip on the guy, she was going to make sure he knew exactly who she was. Who her disguise was, anyway. "First of all, I'm not even a canine. I'm a fucking lizard thing. Second, I'm a guy. Third, I will promptly kick that sorry ass of yours if we can get on with this battle. My Charizard against whatever crap you've got!"

Ira - July 21, 2008 01:46 PM (GMT)
The boy almost died of silent laughter which racked his body. He managed to avoid her grab, and stood listening to her in silence, nodding in a rather irritating fasion.

"Take it easy kid, no one said anything like that!" he said. "Well, whatever you are, you smell like a dog and a girl to me." The boy, or Richard as he was better known, wrinkled his nose in a rather cat-like fashion as if to emphasize this.

"Anyway, bring on the battle!" Richard said, leaping backwards to make enough space for the fight to take place.

Sparx - July 21, 2008 01:54 PM (GMT)
Genna didn't notice the comment about her scent, she was too busy calming herself down by means of deep breaths. Like hell this guy was going down. Like fucking hell. And once he had gotten a small taste of being defeated, she would end the guy's life. The thought seemed even more appealing now that she possessed a reason for the murder.

This was going to be fucking epic.

"Dragonfire," Genna called, pressing a finger down on the first pokeball on her belt. In a flash of red light, the rather large Charizard appeared before his trainer. With a roar, the dragon pokemon flexed his claws and prepared himself for battle, blue eyes narrowed at Richard.

Ira - July 21, 2008 02:14 PM (GMT)
Richard grinned as Dragonfire appeared. This was going to be fun! "Alright Shadow, let's do this!" the boy called, releasing his own pokémon.

As it turned out, it was a rather vicious Typhlosion that appeared before them, flames burning instantly as it eyed Dragonfire, ready for a fight. He seemed to be prepared to go all out, no matter what the cost.

Sparx - July 21, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
Genna almost laughed.

"This will be too easy," The morph declared, she and Dragonfire exchanging smirks. "We'll win this with no problem, right, buddy?" The Charizard nodded, turning back to his opponent. He lashed his tail eagerly, waiting for the first command that would get him started.

"Tail Whip!" Came the direction, and Dragonfire obeyed immediately. Rather than whipping the Typhlosion with his tail, though, the Charizard leapt into the air and climbed until he was away above the battle ground. Then, he dove straight down at Shadow, rearing back at the last second to spin around and smash the echnida with his huge tail.

Ira - July 21, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)
Shadow leapt upwards as Dragonfire used Tail Whip. The move almost missed him, but he was spun sideways as the tail caught his feet, setting him off-balance as he landed.

Richard didn't look too bothered. He could tell that the levels were near enough equal, well, as far as he knew. They'd been in much worse situations than this.

"Smokescreen!"

Shadow reared onto his hind legs and blew out billows of smoke around the battlefield, shielding him from view.

"Quick Attack and Swift!" Richard called.

First off, Shadow moved, leaping out of the smoke from a different position than he'd been in before, from behind Dragonfire. Whether he hit or not, he disappeared back into the smoke and sent a Swift at Dragonfire, relying on the non-missing move to stun the Charizard for a few seconds whilst he moved once more.

Sparx - July 21, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire growled in frustration as the Smokescreen covered the battlefield, sheilding the stupid Typhlosion from view. An instant later, though, he sensed his foe behind him. Swiftly, he dodged the quick attack by soaring higher into the air. From here, he watched as the swift stars dashed toward him. Realizing that it would be futile to try and dodge them, the Charizard saved his energy by simply enduring the attack. Once the last of the stars disappeared, Dragonfire looked down at the smoky ground and made a quick decision.

Fire. Lots of it. Dragonfire reared his head back to ready himself for the attack, and then aimed his wide mouth at the smoke-filled floor. A second later, a full-out fire blast shot from his throat at the ground. If nothing stopped it, it would cover most of the ground he couldn't see. Even better, the force of the attack might even clear the smoke. Unfortunately, the fire attack wouldn't effect Shadow much. Oh well.

Ira - July 21, 2008 04:39 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire was right, the fire didn't affect Shadow much. Although, it did have a rather more drastic effect. The rather flammable smoke exploded seconds after the fire hit, blowing a giant crater in the ground. The shock waves were so powerful that when Shadow hit a nearby wall it began to crumble.

"Hell bent on destroying this place?" Richard asked curiously, grinning like a pyromaniac.

Shadow, who had taken copious amounts of damage, which had practically drained all his energy, showed no physical signs of his injuries, and no tiredness. In a desperate bid to drain as much of Dragonfire's health as possible before he fainted, Shadow leapt into the air, curled up and began to spin extremely fast in a Rollout attack, rolling through the air in a beeline towards Dragonfire. If the attack hit, he'd have the advantage of the Rock-type attack against a Fire and Flying-type.

Sparx - July 22, 2008 12:31 PM (GMT)
"That was cool, I wish I knew that would happen though..." Genna muttered, sheilding herself from any debris that might come crashing her way. Once she was sure she was safe, she grinned up at Dragonfire. "'Atta boy, Dragonfire! You have a juge advantage here, just fly out of the way!" She directed, resting her hands on her hips.

Dragonfire's attention had drifted elsewhere during the explosion, the big Charizard yawning widely in apparent boredom as he waited to the battle to continue. However, he did not notice Shadow already attacking him. Eyes widening in shock as he saw the Typhlosion nearly upon him, Dragonfire all too late tried to avoid the Rollout. Shadow caught him hard in the leg, forcing the Charizard to somersault in the air. This made Dragonfire dizzy, and blindy he lashed his tail out at his opponent.

Ira - July 22, 2008 12:38 PM (GMT)
Shadow was thrown totally out of his spin by Dragonfire's thrashing tail, straight into another building. Blinded momentarily by pain, the Typhlosion could only lie there, struggling to his feet a minute later. Feeling more dizzy than he'd ever done before, Shadow collapsed to the ground in a heap.

Shadow Fainted

Richard winced and quickly recalled Shadow, muttering something that sounded like an apology to the poor creature. "Alright Ruby! Your up!"

A flash of red light shot into the sky and formed into the shape of a Pidgeot, already prepared for battle. "Geotto!"

Sparx - July 22, 2008 12:57 PM (GMT)
This time, it was Genna's turn to yawn in boredom. "This is going to end all too quickly," The morph sighed, frowning at Richard and Ruby.

Dragonfire smirked as he felt his level rise, along with his strength. Eagerly, dropped down to the ground and looked to his new opponent. A Pidgeot? Cake. No, even better- breakfast. Yum.

"Slash," Came the first command. Dragonfire nodded, pushing off of the ground and leaping to the right, so that he faced Ruby's side. From there, he jumped in closer to the bird pokemon. Springing into the air, the Charizard reared his claw back and tried to slam it down on the Pidgeot's head.

Ira - July 22, 2008 01:00 PM (GMT)
Richard didn't bother issuing a command to Ruby, he knew she could cope. Meanwhile, his thoughts turned to a far different matter....what should he have to eat tonight....?

Ruby dived to avoid the Slash, circling back into the air, high above Dragonfire. She then went into another dive, using a combination of Quick Attack and Wing Attack.

Sparx - July 22, 2008 01:13 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire snarled as Ruby dodged his attack. Roaring in frustration, he leapt to the side to dodge her combination attack. Still growling, he spun around to knock her to the side with his tail while she was still attacking. Whether he hit the Pidgeot or not, the Charizard then took to the air and shot a Flamethrower at his opponent.

Ira - July 22, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
Ruby was spun sideways, much like Shadow had been, by Dragonfire's attack, but she recovered quickly and dodged most of the Flamethrower, just catching the tips of her wings. Building up speed until she was at her fastest, she flew at Dragonfire again, stopping short and flapping her wings powerfully to whip up and incredibly strong Gust.

Sparx - July 22, 2008 02:17 PM (GMT)
Despite the lack of effectiveness, the gust pushed Dragonfire back several feet and made him feel dizzy all over again. Getting a bit irritable, the Charizard prepared himself for another explosive attack that would hopefully end this battle faster- despite Genna's want for a long and interesting battle.

Loads of flame exploded from Dragonfire's mouth at Ruby, in the form of the very powerful Blast Burn attack. Once it was launched, the Charizard took a few moments to recover.

Ira - July 22, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
Unable to move quick enough, Ruby countered with another Gust, blowing some of the fire back towards Dragonfire, but not much. Most of it scored a direct hit, severely draining Ruby's energy. She shook the smoke off, her wings shimmering as she used Mirror Move, sending a Blast Burn back at Dragonfire.

Sparx - July 22, 2008 03:06 PM (GMT)
Unable to move due to his recovering energy, the most Dragonfire could do was sheild himself with his wings to lessen the damage from the powerful fire attack. After a moment, he felt recharged, and blasted the rest of the flame to the side with the quicm snap of his wings. Smirking, he leapt at the Pidgeot once more, this time with flamining claws ready to slash at the bird's front in a dragon claw attack.

Ira - July 23, 2008 11:41 AM (GMT)
Ruby attempted another dodge, but her already injured wing was caught by Dragonfire's claws. The Pidgeot immediately turned her head and began pecking rapidly at Dragonfire's skull.

Sparx - July 23, 2008 03:33 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire took the annoying but not very effective pecks without attempting to dodge, though a vein slowly started to grow in his forehead. He tried to think of the best thing to do in a close-range situation like this...

"Seismic toss!" Genna directed suddenly. The Charizard did not know the actual attack, but hell- he could grab the bird and spin it around a bit. It's not as if it were a hard technique. Thus, Dragonfire attempted to wrap his arms around Ruby. This would be followed by a launch into the air; the dragon would then spin Ruby in a circle to make her dizzy before diving at the ground and slamming the Pidgeot into the earth.

Ira - July 24, 2008 12:00 PM (GMT)
"Geotto!" Ruby cried in surprise, as her wings were suddenly clipped by Dragonfire's arms. She struggled desperately to get away, though her attempts failed and she was soon too confused to think straight. The next thing she knew, she was on the floor, and she hurt like mad.

Ruby Fainted. Dragonfire gains 1 level.

Richard mumbled something that sounded like an apology, before releasing his third pokémon. "Let's go, Freeze," the trainer called as his next pokémon appeared.

It was a Milotic, and without warning, she shot a Hydro Pump at Dragonfire, before using Aqua Ring to slowly restore her own health.

Sparx - July 24, 2008 12:29 PM (GMT)
"Dammit!" Genna cried as the Milotic started this one. Dragonfire took this as a command, and tried to fly away. However, the seismic toss had made him quite dizzy, too, so he couldn't move fast enough to avoid the water attack. Super-effective, it 'helped' the Charizard back into the air while draining a ton of energy from him.

"Try a slash!" His trainer then directed. Dragonfire shook his head to clear the pain, then dove down at Freeze, making sure to move from side to side as he did so the Milotic would not be able to aim at him well. Once close enough, he slashed at Freeze's face with his huge claws.

Ira - July 24, 2008 12:40 PM (GMT)
Freeze let Dragonfire close in, waiting until he was close enough before firing a Water Pulse at him, despite the fact that she was hit by the Slash. Luckily, her Aqua Ring healed some of the damage, and she glared defiantly at the Fire and Flying type.

Sparx - July 24, 2008 01:22 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire was drenched by the water attack, his energy quickly sapping away. He would have to end this quickly... and that meant not waiting for orders or thinking up strategies! This would have to be one of those neccessarily reckless fights...

With a roar, the Charizard tried to chomp down on Freeze's neck-body area.

Ira - July 24, 2008 01:31 PM (GMT)
Freeze hissed as she was bitten, her energy sapped instantly. Startled into being very pissed off, she retaliated with her Twister attack, adding a Water Sport to reduce the power of any of Dragonfire's fire based attacks.

Sparx - July 24, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire let go of Freeze just in time to swerve to the side, narrowly dodging the powerful and super-effective Twister. Even so, the attack had been very close-ranged, and the Charizard still lost a little energy to it. Snarling, he wound himself up, then lashed his tail at the stupid Milotic.

Ira - July 24, 2008 01:52 PM (GMT)
Freeze was smacked sideways by Dragonfire's tail, skidding along the floor. Funnily enough, his tail flame gave her a burn, causing her ability, Marvel Scale, to kick into action and raised her defensive power by 1.5x. Despite taking serious damage from the floor, and not regaining as much strength as she needed from Aqua Ring, Freeze closed the distance between her and her opponent, and the Milotic swung around, aiming an Aqua Tail at Dragonfire.

Sparx - July 24, 2008 02:01 PM (GMT)
Dragonfire flew higher into the air to avoid the attack, though he was starting to feel really tired. Heaving a sigh, he flew backwards a few few, then attempted to dive at Freeze with a regular old fly attack.

He's not gonna last much longer, Genna reflected. I hope he can just finish the Milotic, though. Edward and Legolas wouldn't do to well against it...

Ira - July 24, 2008 02:07 PM (GMT)
Freeze began to use Twister just as Dragonfire came closer to her, and finished executing the attack as the Charizard colided with her, sending the Milotic backwards into the wall. She didn't even have time to see if her attack had hit before she fell unconcious.

Freeze fainted. Dragonfire gains 2 levels.

(Almost wrote 22 then! Richard will release his next pokémon after your next post)

Sparx - July 25, 2008 12:51 PM (GMT)
((Why can't it be twenty-two? Dx))

Genna heaved a sigh of relief as the Milotic fainted before her Charizard. However, that last Twister had taken its toll on Dragonfire. Though not quite finished, he looked very exhausted now. Making a quick decision, Genna held out his pokeball and recalled him.

"Good job, Dragonfire. Edward, you're up next." The morph exchanged pokeballs and released the Floatzel from his. Excited, Edward looked from Genna to Richard, waiting for the battle to start.

Ira - July 25, 2008 01:03 PM (GMT)
(XP Soory, no can do. Sorry about making you wait, I had to see who was battling so I could choose the level. Very uninspired name.)

Richard smiled cheerfully as he drew his next pokéball, releasing the pokémon inside onto the battlefield. There was an extremely bright flash of red light as the creature appeared. "Ivy!"

"Saur, ivysaur!" Hey, you better make this worth my time! Ivy called as the Ivysaur spotted her opponent. She started the battle instantly with a Razor Leaf.

Sparx - July 25, 2008 01:11 PM (GMT)
Ha! You better make it worth my time! Edward shot back, backflipping out of the way of the razor leaves. Landing gracefully back onto his feet, the Floatzel smirked at Ivy in a taunting fashion.

"Ice Fang!" Came the first bit of direction from Genna. Edward's grin widened- the ice attack would be super effective. Dropping down to all fours, the otter pokemon rushed forward, darting from side to side as though using quick attack. Once close enough to his opponent, Edward stopped running and slid so that he faced the Ivysaur's side. From there, he leapt and tried to bite down on Ivy with icy-cold fangs.

Ira - July 25, 2008 01:14 PM (GMT)
Ivy reared back to avoit the fangs, although her foreleg got caught in Edward's mouth. Her energy drained rapidly, which she hadn't expected. Taking advantage of the close range, she fought back by using Poison Power, followed by Vine Whip.

Sparx - July 25, 2008 02:57 PM (GMT)
Edward held his breath to avoid being too badly poisoned by the venomous powder, though a few spores infected him. Though not bad, the poison began to steadily sap at his health... The vine whip didn't help. Getting smacked in the head by a super-effective vine is not fun. Snarling, he tried to bite down on Ivy again with another ice fang.

Ira - July 25, 2008 02:59 PM (GMT)
(This won't last long but the idea is that Edward's so tired that Genna has to recall him! ^^)

Ivy roared furiously as another chunk of her energy was sapped by the Ice Fang, not to mention her hind quarters got frozen. Lashing out blindly, she attacked with another Vine Whip.
