Title: 2x08 Helen Back Again
Description: Eighth Episode

Ciria - September 1, 2011 01:23 AM (GMT)
If you watched Drake & Josh, you know who Helen is. I'm excited to hear she'll be on Victorious but, I don't know about the episode itself. It is said to air either September 9th or the 10th. I'm unsure right now since their throwing around two dates.

A new principal takes control of Hollywood Arts and requires all the students to audition again.

Though, since they all have to audition again - so, that means well see all their talent right? Why do I feel like drama might ensue around Trina? I mean...unless she is going to audition as a comedian.

Here's a link they posted on the Wiki...Youtube Vid.

Update: watched the video, all I can say is that Cat juggling, I can so see it. :D
Girl was pretty funny, the walkthrough was nice.

theMidnightRainfall - September 1, 2011 02:31 AM (GMT)
Sounds interesting. So jealous of the juggler.

I do believe "Helen Back Again" is grammatically incorrect.

Ciria - September 1, 2011 02:34 AM (GMT)
And she didn't even want the job! Give it to me, I'll be happy. I just need to learn to juggle.

theMidnightRainfall - September 1, 2011 02:45 AM (GMT)
Seriously. I feel like I need to acquire a strange talent now just so I can be on shows like this. XD

sameoldstory - September 1, 2011 02:59 AM (GMT)
The plot actually sounds interesting (moreso than most of season two's plots, anyway). I'm guessing the title is a play on the phrase "to ____ and back again."

Lord Kira - September 2, 2011 07:32 AM (GMT)
"Helen Back Again"

Hehehe. The kids are so not going to get that title.

theMidnightRainfall - September 2, 2011 12:09 PM (GMT)
I'm actually pretty excited for this episode. Helen's gonna bring back so many memories.

InsaneBlueberry - September 2, 2011 04:52 PM (GMT)
I hope this episode is good because I loved Helen from Drake and Josh.

je crois en l'amour - September 2, 2011 10:36 PM (GMT)
*chuckles* Helen was one of my favorite characters in Drake & Josh  It'll be exciting to see her! ^_^

Ciria - September 4, 2011 02:24 PM (GMT)
Promo was shown but, I do not believe it has been posted on Youtube yet. But, from the promo I can tell there is going to be a Tandre duet. But, they won't be singing a new song, just Make It Shine - which I think is lame. And Tori is the one who gets kicked out. But, she obviously finds a way back in.

I could be wrong about the song though...I don't think so.

sameoldstory - September 4, 2011 06:10 PM (GMT)
Really? I'm kind of disappointed. I love Tandre, but them singing another duet, with a song Tori's already sung... sounds boring. I hope the other kids' auditions are fresher.

Ciria - September 4, 2011 06:51 PM (GMT)
I know right? My thoughts exactly.

InsaneBlueberry - September 5, 2011 03:48 PM (GMT)
Really? Another Tandre duet? Sure, I love them as just friends, but it's annoying that they have another duet. :/

Ciria - September 5, 2011 04:01 PM (GMT)
Yep. Here's the promo..

Not to offend anyone but, it kinda seems like Dan is trying to make us ship Tandre with all these duets. They've had two or three already, correct? I wish Tori would sing with someone else. Don't get me wrong - I wanted another Tandre duet. But, not with the same song she's already sung.

sameoldstory - September 5, 2011 04:09 PM (GMT)
Thanks for bringing the promo over. I'm really frustrated by Dan's decision to give Tandre another duet. I wish he'd either give them actual development or give the duet to another, underexposed pairing. I'm tired of the characters' relationships being stuck in limbo, so to speak (Tori and Andre sing flirty songs but nothing more, Jade gets mad and Beck tries to control her, etc.). I'd like to see him take some risks.

Ciria - September 5, 2011 04:24 PM (GMT)
I agree. I see more of where your coming from when thinking of episodes like Locked Up and such. While it may be funny, it doesn't really add anything to relationships and doesn't really develop anything like some episodes.

I guess he's still trying to keep the comedy but, this has/had potential for a drama filled. But, I guess he's avoiding that. I mean...it can be like Desperate Housewives...a drama/comedy. They have an equal balance.

InsaneBlueberry - September 5, 2011 04:41 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't mind the duet entirely if it wasn't the same song, but it seems like it is and that's just boring.

And Dan needs to take risks. Sure, he sometimes shows other couples, but it's mostly only Bade, Tandre, and Cabbie. And I only like one of those three ships and that happens to be Bade. Seriously, he needs to let other couples sing together.

theMidnightRainfall - September 5, 2011 06:02 PM (GMT)
Well, no wonder she gets kicked out. Her audition is boring, predictable, and redundant. /shot/

Seriously, though, I agree. I think Dan needs to mix the couples up a bit. I love Bade, but I wouldn't mind seeing some Cade and I'd definitely love some Reck (Despite the fact that neither will ever happen...). Man, at this point, I'd even be interested in Jandre. >>

Ciria - September 5, 2011 06:40 PM (GMT)
Hopefully though, the rest of the episode will be interesting enough. I wonder if Jade will be slightly concerned when Tori is kicked out.

sameoldstory - September 5, 2011 07:30 PM (GMT)
You're right. Dan could keep it comedy and still let them develop real relationships. At this point, he just seems too scared to change it up.

Out of all the main couples Dan's teasing right now, Tandre is the only one I like, but I'm not even enjoying their moments anymore because their relationship never gets anywhere. I don't really care which ships he goes for now. I just want him to try to develop the relationships beyond the same teasing every episode.

And haha, I actually agree that it makes sense for Tori to get kicked out. Make It Shine isn't a bad song, but it's not impressive, and it's even less meaningful now that she's repeating it.

je crois en l'amour - September 5, 2011 10:18 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty excited for this new episode. It's been a while!

Actually, what intrigues me the most at this point are the auditions of the other member of the Victorious gang. I really wonder what each of them will do. . . :hmm

I'm not too worried about Tori. I think her talent will be showcased one way or another, which will buy her back her golden ticket to HAHS. :)

theMidnightRainfall - September 7, 2011 12:02 PM (GMT)
Well, of course Tori's going to fly back. There's no Victorious without Tori. I'm not really concerned with anything that happens to her, to be honest.

I really am curious as to what the others are going to do. I have this feeling idea that Beck's going to tell some story and Helen will be enraptured by his hair. It's just a feeling.

As for everyone else, I really hope we see some kind of talent from Trina. Maybe she's a good dancer. All we've ever seen her do is sing poorly and audition fairly awkwardly with Robbie.

...And now I'm thinking up auditions for the entire cast. XD

Anyone have any idea what Sinjin might do?

je crois en l'amour - September 7, 2011 04:06 PM (GMT)
Victorious without Tori will just be Vic...ous  . . . which doesn't really mean anything. . . :hmm

Moving on.

Well, Sinjin's with the production crew, so I'm guessing that all he really needs to do is to demonstrate what he can create. That might be good enough. *shrug*

Ah, yes. I think it's highly possible that Helen will be so charmed by Beck that he wouldn't even have to do anything. He just has to stand on stage and he's in!

I can totally see that.

Helen: Next!
Beck: *comes out on stage* I--.
Helen: You're in. Next!

Here's some sneak peeks. See if I am more excited or not.

Lol @ Jade. She got burned by Helen. I love how Beck was the only one clapping and it looked so...awkward.

Also, apparently, its not normal Make it Shine, its a remix. I think Victoria tweeted that... :o

je crois en l'amour - September 10, 2011 02:55 AM (GMT)
There goes Nathan! :D I wonder what role he'd be in there. . . :hmm

Ciria - September 10, 2011 02:00 PM (GMT)
I think he is just in the crowd.

Also, they already uploaded all the auditions on the slap. So, if you were looking forward to that - now you don't even have to watch! '-_- Why'd they do it before it aired?

sameoldstory - September 10, 2011 03:13 PM (GMT)
What? Why do they upload so many sneak peeks? Are they trying to lose viewers, lol? I'm not even going to watch them. I'd rather see it all together tonight.

Ciria - September 10, 2011 07:11 PM (GMT)
IDK lol. That's why I'm not watching the other auditions.

Exactly my thoughts. It's like they're officially trying too hard.

Ciria - September 11, 2011 12:48 AM (GMT)
Remix was better than I thought. Actually liked it...kinda. I loved Jade's and Robbie's. Jade's just because it was..awesome! and Robbie's was hilarious IMO. I'm posting as I'm watching. Surprised Trina got in and Tori didn't. Seems kinda unrealistic but...good all and all.

Update: Better than I thought. The last part was hilarious. Andre dragging Robbie out and Trina HAS skill lol. She can do karate. Cool.

sameoldstory - September 11, 2011 01:24 AM (GMT)
Random episode thoughts:

- I am so sick of Jori.

- Love the references to Helen's background and Crazy Steve.

- I don't know why, but I expected them to take Trina's re-audition more seriously and actually show her having talent in acting or dancing. Beck's was lackluster, but I loled at Helen commenting on his hair. You guys totally called it. Cat's audition was cute. Jade's acting was awesome. I love Tandre, but their duet was boring.

Overall, not the best, but better than most of the episodes this season. I hope it only goes up from here.

theMidnightRainfall - September 11, 2011 03:53 AM (GMT)
I'm surprised I'm saying this, but, I actually liked this episode. Compared to the rest of the season, it was pretty good. Not much character development, but I'm glad I actually found the funny parts, well, funny.

I was very surprised at first when Trina got in when Tori didn't, but I just figured Helen thought Trina's audition was supposed to be a satire or something. Robbie's audition was hilarious. Jade's was my favorite; HELEN'S FACE. AND I TOTALLY CALLED THE BECK'S HAIR THING. <3

I'm also surprised that I liked the Make It Shine remix. I think I might like it better than the original. I'm also disappointed that Trina's audition didn't show any sort of talent. (How did she get in the first time?) And Sinjin didn't audition. D:

I think I was the happiest when Helen mentioned so many Drake and Josh running gags. Made me all nostalgic.

InsaneBlueberry - September 11, 2011 03:14 PM (GMT)
I liked the episode more than most of the other season 2 episodes.

- Cat's audition was pretty funny and very Cat-like. Jade's was spooky and amazing.

- I hated the remix of Make It Shine. It was just so boring and boring and bleh.

- I immediately knew that Helen had gotten the two confused when Tori's mom said that Trina got in but Tori didn't.

- As much as I love Jori, I'm getting sick and tired of it because I want Cade again.

- I'm glad Trina still got in because Hollywood Arts wouldn't be as great without her. Plus, she can dance. All she needs to do is learn that her talent is dancing and just become a professional dancer. Or a comedian.

- Drake and Josh references were awesome. Gosh. I really miss Crazy Steve and I loved his reference.

I think that's it. If I think of something else, I may mention it.

je crois en l'amour - September 13, 2011 03:20 AM (GMT)
So I finally got to see the new ep, and I thought it was lovely! My fan girl mode immediately turned on during the opening scene with Sinjin, Robbie, and Tori. They were pretty interactive throughout, Robbie and Tori, so this, for me, is one of those Rori-loaded episodes. *chuckle*

A few thoughts:

- I really thought it was a bad idea when Jade questioned Helen's knowledge in singing. *evil smirk* I can still remember that episode when people were stuck in Drake and Josh's house, and to have fun Helen started singing "We Will Rock You." :D She sure showed her!

- I had a feeling that there was a mix-up between the Vega girls, especially after seeing Trina's audition. And that convo she had with Tori about how "sorry" she was that her li'l sis didn't get in.

Oh, Trina.

- Of all the auditions, I really thought Jade's was the best. Everyone who watched were so glued to the piece, and the way they reacted--Helen, above all--was :rotfl

- I don't know if it's just me, but I thought Mrs. Vega and Tori's exercise-slash-game equipment was mildly poking fun of the shake weight.

Man. That thing's just wrong all over. :-P

Great episode! Looking forward to the next new one! B)

It's not just you. It totally was. Nickelodeon always has small, insignificant things running around just to poke fun at stupid stuff. (I.e. the pear company.) I just thought it was really awkward. I mean, why in the world would any self-respecting teenager be doing that with their mother? >.<

je crois en l'amour - September 13, 2011 04:31 AM (GMT)
Oh, good. :)

Yeah. The way they used it, that was okay. If it was the other way around, well. . .
