Ok so this con in Alabama, Kami-Con, has TOM listed as one of their guests. Check it out and tell me what you think. I'm personally interested to see what they've got planned.
This is what they have written
QUOTE
TOM, short for Toonami Operations Unit, was the host for the Cartoon Network anime block known as Toonami.

He and his trusty AI Unit Sara hosted from aboard the spaceship Absolution.
While TOM managed to serve as a cool, relaxed host, his job was not without peril. His body has been destroyed on several occasions.

TOM's first body was lost when a gelatinous space creature known for eating metal consumed and devoured him. Sara was able to construct his memories and AI into a new bigger, better, faster, stronger body.

TOM's second body was destroyed by the space pirate Ocelot Rex in a hostile takeover of the Absolution. Scavenger bots managed to find TOM's remains and build him yet another body.

TOM has since resigned from hosting after Toonami's cancellation, but has generously offered to make an appearance at Kami-Con! Make sure to be at Opening and Closing ceremonies!

My guess is a fan got himself together a TOM 3.0 robot suit and a Steve Blum soundboard.

He's supposed to be there at the opening and closing ceremonies, but I might just be there for the opening I dunno yet.

Naw, nuthin that cool it was just a video appearance...

BUT, what was pretty awesome was that they actually got Steve Blum to record some new parts as TOM!!!!

Basically it had to do with the silly storyline and TOM had to come in and moderate things. It was stock footage of TOM 2 with some random stuff up on the screens in the background like "The Game" (which of course caused everyone there to lose. lol)

Was totally awesome to hear him speaking as TOM again though. That and hearing Johnny Yong Bosch do a "Getsuga Tensho!" for the crowd made the whole thing worth it.

Couldn't make it back for the closing ceremony but I'm sure it was similar to his normal sine-offs. People were definitely recording though so I'm sure it'll be on youtube in a few days. I'll link when I find them.

EDIT: Right on cue the official ones are now up!

Opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhpkBdOl3-4

Closing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEWbH3ufIGg

The ending one is cool cause it's like the old motivational promos and it's about light and darkness which was the cons theme.

I'm a guy but I was fangirling so hard when I watched those in person and on youtube. biggrin.gif
