Well, I will post this first, before the fic I promised. I'm waiting for your comments! biggrin.gif

Butterfly

A hundred years of darkness, a thousand tears she cried…In that lonely black world, she was the only one. The only one to breath, the only one to move, the only one to speak…But who could she speak with? She was the only one in her small and dark world. She felt like she was suffocating.

She once had a big and loving family. Her entire world was her family, so she didn’t care about anything outside. Her life revolved around them, so what was outside of it, other people, other places or other creatures, was of little importance. That’s why, when her family’s bond, which she thought to be unbreakable, was actually destroyed, and her relatives disappeared from her side one by one, she felt empty. She had fed herself on their bond and had lived for their love. She felt empty and hollow, unable to feel or say anything. Her happy world had been stolen from her…She was now all alone.

She felt like she had already lived for hundreds of years, but she looked like time had completely passed her by. All alone in her black world, surrounded everywhere by darkness, she was waiting for something…What was she waiting for? She couldn’t remember…She could just wait for THAT something to appear and save her from the darkness…

She kept waiting…and waiting…and waiting. However, the “it” she was waiting for didn’t appear. She was tired already, and sick, of her own self. But she couldn’t do a thing…She didn’t have the power to change anymore…

She wanted to sleep…to indulge herself in a long slumber and forget about everything…So she cried. She cried the hardest she had ever done…When she felt that she couldn’t carry on anymore, she felt a golden ray rest on her face. ‘So warm…’ she thought. She hopefully looked up and what she saw made her cry again. Butterflies…thousands of green, purple and golden butterflies were descending from above, surrounding her in warmth and another feeling she had since long forgotten: happiness.

She wanted to get out of her black world. She wanted to feel the refreshing smell of the morning grass, to see the beauty of the high sky…She wished to see herself shine once again in that colorful world which she had left behind, so the girl did the only thing she could do: she prayed. She wished to see once again the faces she had once loved so much, to be by their side one more time…Just one more time was enough for her…

Her praying was answered. The darkness surrounding her disappeared only to be replaced by light, and the empty air in her world was filled with different aromas. Darkness became light, and emptiness became hope. The stopped clock of her time began ticking again. She felt truly alive. She had been reborn, just like a beautiful butterfly…

I wanted to write something with the theme "Being reborn", with a classmate of mine on my mind, but somehow, it ended up completely different from what I imagined...I'm waiting for "reviews": what mistakes are in it?

And here is the Ken x Chrome fanfic I wrote. Thank you, Ken Joshima (Konomi Fortunato) for giving me the idea. Take it as a gift from me to a good friend happy.gif

Fever

This day was officially proclaimed “The worst day of my entire life” (quote by Ken Joshima). Not only had Chrome caught a serious cold, but he was also stuck there (Alone with that stupid girl! Gawr!) taking care of her by himself. ‘Kakipii, that traitor! I’m going to make him taste my Cheetah Channel when I find him…’ he angrily thought, unconsciously grinding his teeth. He glared at the girl, as if everything was her fault. Actually, it WAS her fault!...Kind of...

“Why in the world did this stupid girl have to stay outside in the rain?” growled the blond boy, sitting grudgingly on a chair by the sofa where Chrome was put on. She had a high fever because of her “walk” in the rain the previous day, and was sweating very much. She had always been kind of weak to sickness, but this one was by far the worst cold she had ever caught. Chikusa had covered her with a blanket before going out, so her fever wouldn’t rise because of the cold air. Ken looked at the girl bored. She seemed to be having nightmares.

He stood up and started pacing around the room. Baby-sitting was definitely not his idea of spending his free time, but the gods seemed to have other ideas for him. ‘The gods definitely hate me…’ Ken mentally growled, and turned around to look at the girl he was supposed to watch over. She had moved her head somewhere along the time he hadn't careful, and the compress on her forehead had fallen. He approached the sleeping figure on the sofa and took it, intending to return it on her head. The material was burning.

‘When the compress becomes warm, sink it into cold water and put it back. It lowers the fever.’ Chikusa’s words came back to him, and Ken sighed annoyed. “How troublesome…” he muttered, and grabbed the basin with ice-cold water. He sunk the compress, just like Kakipii instructed him, and put it back on the girls head. Ken could feel the heat of Chrome’s forehead through the wet material. He stared at the purple-haired girl in silence.

She was the only link they had to Mukuro-san. He was their savior, his, Kakipii’s and hers. To them, he was more important than everything else. Mukuro-san carried the biggest mistakes of the Estraneo Family with him, mistakes that both destroyed his life and gave him that tremendous and cursed power within him. When him and Kakipii had lost all their hope of having a better life, Mukuro-san came and saved them from the people they had once called family. When she was about to die, forsaken by her own two parents, Chrome was saved by Mukuro-san and, even now, kept alive by him. He couldn’t afford to lose the only way to communicate with him…

Suddenly, Ken’s train of thoughts was interrupted by a question: ‘When did he start calling the stupid girl by her name!?’ Angry at himself for the slip, he quickly watered the hot compress and returned it on the girl’s forehead. The frown disappeared from her face at the contact with the cool material, being replaced by a content expression. Catching himself staring at her face, Ken immediately stood up and headed towards the exit. ‘Baby-sitting really isn’t for me…’

He could hear the distinct sound of material falling. “Not again…” he muttered, and turned around, intending to put the compress back, but he never expected to actually see “the stupid girl” awake and struggling to stand up. “Ke…n…” Her voice was so weak that, if Ken hadn’t had such good hearing, he would have missed her words.

“Muku…ro…sama…I….can’t…talk…to…him…” Her eyes were barely opened, and she was obviously dizzy. Her legs were shaky, and looked like they were going to give in any moment now. Ken pushed her back on the sofa in his not-so-gentle way, and threw the blanket over her.

“Of course you can’t, you idiot! Not with that fever you’re running right now! Cure yourself first!” he snapped at her angrily, and placed the cold compress on her forehead (again). “Man, how troublesome…” the boy muttered as he sat on the chair, having a sudden urge to just go far away and leave this idiot and troublesome girl by herself. Chrome stared at him with her eyes half-closed.

“Ken…” she called him in a small voice, and the boy simply looked at her, not deeming it necessary to say anything. “Tha...nk…you…” The girl gave him a small smile, and fell asleep immediately after.

Ken instantly turned his head around, facing the exit. He would keep a secret and take with him to the tomb the fact that he actually blushed at seeing that stupid girl’s SMILE…

This is it! What do you think? I tried to make Ken himself in a "polite" manner, excluding curses and other things like these. Did I make Ken "himself" enough?

LATER EDIT: Thank you, Ken! >.< I edited.

That story was really cute! There's not enough KenChrome love in the world (can you tell I'm not acting as Ken? XD) so this fiction made me smile. <3
It was well written and the spacing was good. For the above fiction, Butterfly, I'd just suggest spacing it a bit more because it's clumped together.

The only criticism I have is that I don't think Ken has of yet called Chikusa "Chikusa". He usually calls him Kakipii.
He was really in character (in my opinion) though.
