Divx is a digital multimedia video format that compressed the audio with MP3 codec and image with MPEG-4 codec. Invented by the DivXNetworks, and since it appeared in 2000 more and more people accepted Divx, because it can compress lengthy video segments into small size while maintain relatively high visual quality. By the way, video compressed with Divx codec may appears in any extension name below: MP4, MKV, AVI and Divx.

And if you got some Divx videos and want to edit them on Mac you will find that you can't import Divx into iMovie. Basically Divx files only played on WindowsMediaPlayer unless you installed the Divx plug-in. And iMovie don't read Divx codec, so if you want to import Divx to iMovie for editing you must convert Divx to iMovie friendly video formats such as general MP4(compressed with codec iMovie can recognize) and MOV.

Here I advise you to use our professional Mac Divx to iMovie Converter, it is a program especially designed for Mac users aimed to deal video converting problems. The fast converting speed and no visual loss output video makes our Divx to iMovie Converter on Mac competitive compared with other video converters. With the help of Mac Divx to iMovie Converter, just need few clicks you can finish video converting jobs and import your Divx files to iMovie for editing.
