WELCOME TO TiG
You'd have to be deaf to miss the whispers of a powerful force eliminating the 'unclean' blood, and you'd have to be blind not to see the deaths written about in the newspapers. There are rumors that a war is brewing, and the deaths and terror just work to further confirm this whisper. Lately however, there have been whispers of a rival force, one that is working around the clock as a defense for those of less-than-pure blood.

However, this is all happening outside of Hogwarts. The students inside are, while not oblivious, not exposed to the turmoil of the outside world. Letters and newspaper are all they have to experience it, with the only social evidence being a dramatic increase in school violence.

As the death toll rises, however, students and wizards everywhere are left to pick and choose a side. Those who choose to go about their normal lives live in fear, though with a slim hope that maybe the opposing force will become strong enough to overthrow He Who Must Not Be Named and those named Death Eaters. After all, a war is brewing.

Everyone must choose a side, if even secretly, but remember: this isn't goodbye. Friends can be found in even the darkest times.

SETTING

October is proving milder than its preceding month this year. Temperatures will reach 16C midmonth, before beginning to decline to an average of 8-10C. It's unpleasant to be caught on the clifftops, because this month it brings with it ferocious winds capable of knocking small first years off their feet. Skies are generally clear, with mornings being cold and crisp, and it will rain only six or seven times. The sun is usually visible but it gives no heat, fooling several students into thinking it is safe to leave the castle without their robes. The nights are beginning to close in now, and the clocks will move back an hour at the end of this month, in order to better preserve hours for Quidditch practice.
