Doesn't surprise me at all. Aside from the technical aspect of a lot of these gaming degrees, one of which I'm working towards, the majority of the classes are all design courses that weigh heavily in art appreciation/evaluation/creation. Games are continually growing as a medium, and becoming more and more contemplative and reflective of the world we live in.
